At Claudia and Juan Patricio's house,
Claudia goes into her husband's study to get a book she had left behind. She looks through the shelf and finds it. On her way out as she looks around, she sees that the desk is untidy. She goes towards it to tidy it up. Most of the papers aren't that interesting, just old business letters and bills. She starts to arrange them and sees a letter in a red envelope. Claudia becomes very curious.
For one it is a very bright red colour, and no other envelope or anything else came close in color. She drops the other things she was holding neatly in a pile. She takes the red envelope and turns it over as she mulls over whether to open it or not. Claudia then picks up her book, folds the red envelope, and puts it in. She then starts to leave. Before she reaches the door, it is opened and Juan Patricio comes in.
Elsewhere,
At Antonio and Gabriela's house,
Gabriela is there with her father and sister. They are in the dining room. Aranza looks at her father. She asks him if he will come back to his position as the head of the company. Gabriela says, of course, he will because the company is his. Gabriel looks at both of his daughters and says that he will but not as the head. Gabriela looks at her father and asks him what he means. Gabriel says that he is old and for the sake of his health he feels it is best if he steps back from taking on any of his former responsibilities.
He says he will always be involved in the company but not with nitty gritties and with the day-to-day running of the company. Gabriela is shocked. She tells her father that it might take time but eventually, Helena and Carlos will be exposed and removed from the company and the company will need stability and leadership. Aranza sulks at her sister. She says that their father's health is more important than the company. Gabriela says that of course she also cares about her father's health.
Aranza says that right now it seems like the company is more important. She adds that it's not the right moment to discuss such weighty matters. Gabriela glares at her and says that she is concerned about both and they need to start planning for the succession before Helena and Carlos fall or else the company might suffer. Gabriela and Aranza then begin arguing before their father tells them both to stop it. He looks at Gabriela and says that she should know better because she is older. She glares at her sister but says nothing.
Back at Juan Patricio and Claudia's house,
He asks her what she was doing in his office. Claudia says that she had left one of her books inside and had gone for it. Juan Patricio says that he doesn't like anyone going into his office. Claudia says that she doesn't see what the problem is because it isn't the first time she has been to his office. Juan Patricio says that the office is a bit disorganized at the moment and something important could get lost. Claudia says that she just picked up her book and she left. Juan Patricio throws up his arms and goes towards his study. Claudia says to herself that she doesn't understand him. She then goes on towards their bedroom.
Back at Antonio and Gabriela's house,
There is a knock on the door and Gabriela goes to open it. It's Anna Patricia. She hugs Gabriela and they walk towards the dining room where Gabriel and Aranza are. Anna Patricia greets them both. Gabriela remembers something and asks Anna Patricia where her mother is because they were to come together. Anna Patricia sighs. She says that her mother, wouldn't say where she was going.
She adds that the only thing her mother said was that she had a few errands to run. Gabriela says that she went to interrogate Marianna. Anna Patricia says that knowing her mother she wouldn't be surprised. Gabriela then tells Aranza to help her arrange something for the boys. Aranza gets the idea. They need to leave their father and Anna Patricia alone because they have a lot to talk about. She follows Gabriela.
Back at Juan Patricio and Claudia's house,
Claudia is in her room. She opens up the book and removes the red envelope. She mulls it over then decides to open it. She is shocked. In her hands are copies of the autopsy reports of Adrianna's parents, Adrian Alvarez and Paulina Garcia Alvarez, as well as a report on the inspection done on their car after the accident and their death certificates. What would her husband be doing with these documents? How is that any of his business? She then goes back to what they have just found out-
Gabriel Montes De Alba is alive. She says to herself that Gabriel's death certificate was either fake or there was a mix-up of bodies at the morgue.
She asks herself what Adrianna's parents have to do with any of that. She then turns both reports over. There is nothing written on them. She then looks the envelope over again. There isn't anything written on it. She takes out a phone and takes pictures of all the documents. After that, she returns the reports and seals the envelope again. She then goes to her closet and hides it in one of her very many handbags. She adds that later on, she will hide it elsewhere. She sighs and asks herself if any of the documents are genuine. Just then there is a knock on the door. Claudia knows that it is her husband. She sighs.
She asks herself if he has noticed that the red envelope is missing. She then empties the contents of her handbag on the bed and goes to open the door. He comes in and looks around. He asks her why she locked the door. Claudia says that she wanted to go through her handbag and sort it out. Juan Patricio asks himself if she has found the red envelope. He says that he cannot ask about it, without it raising questions as to why he has the documents. He says that if she tells Antonio, he, Helena, and Carlos are as good as dead, because Antonio will find out the truth, no matter how long it takes.
Back at Antonio and Gabriela's house,
Anna Patricia asks Gabriel how he feels after finally revealing himself to the world. Gabriel says that it is a relief to no longer have to hide. He adds that he cannot wait to spend time with his children and grandchildren publicly and without any worries. He also adds that most importantly he cannot wait to get on with his life. Anna Patricia says that she is happy for him because after how much he has suffered, he deserves to be happy. She says that he is going to be there for his grandchildren for a very long time.
Gabriel says that as much as he loves his children and grandchildren, his happiness will be incomplete without her. Anna Patricia fidgets nervously and says that now isn't the time to talk about such things. Gabriel says that it is a perfect time. He says that they have known each other for years and as much as he was sick for part of that time, he knows that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her no matter how long that will be. Anna Patricia remembers Carlos's threats that if she ever started a relationship with Gabriel, he would hurt him (Gabriel).
Anna Patricia knows that despite all the time that has passed, Carlos is still obsessed with her. She knows that for someone like him who isn't used to being rejected by women, his ego took a huge hit when she said no. She says that she can't risk him doing anything to Gabriel and deny him an opportunity to get his life back especially to continue spending time with his children and grandchildren. Gabriel gently taps her shoulder. Anna Patricia's mind comes back to the present.
He asks her to tell him what her fears are. Anna Patricia knows that she cannot let the fear of what Carlos might do, dictate how she lives her life forever. She says to herself that now that everything is out in the open and Carlos and Helena will fall sooner or later, she needs to finally break the hold he has on her life. Anna Patricia says that some time back Carlos had threatened her that if she ever had anything to do with him (Gabriel) he (Carlos) would make him pay.
Meanwhile,
Juan Patricio is back in his study. He looks around, but he cannot find the red envelope. He runs his hand through his hair. He asks out loud if Claudia could have seen it. He knows that he has to find that envelope as soon as possible.
Back at Antonio and Gabriela's house,
Gabriel folds his hands. He asks her if Carlos had continued harassing her past the time, he had heard about it, when his twins were talking about how her parents had learnt about it. Anna Patricia sighs then says that he largely kept away but he would from time to time bother her and kept making unwanted advances. Gabriel stands and paces around. Anna Patricia says that she can now clearly see where Gabriela and Aranza get their strong personalities and tempers from.
Gabriel then tells her that she shouldn't worry and that he will be there for her, as will the rest of their family. He adds that he will personally beat up Carlos if he even as much as looks at her. Anna Patricia tells Gabriel that Carlos is a pest and that they shouldn't pay too much attention to him. Gabriel tells her that Carlos is more than crazy, he is dangerous and a psychopath who is obsessed with her. Gabriel holds her hands and tells her that they should do what is best for her. He lifts one of his hands and touches one of her cheeks.
Hours later,
At Martin's house,
He has arrived back home. He enters and locks the door. He can hear noises, coming from the dining room and can tell that Marianna and Dianna are in there. He goes into the dining room. When she sees him, Dianna runs towards him screaming Uncle Martin, and hugs him. Marianna watches them both and smiles. It never ceases to amaze her how close they have become in such a short time.
She remembers what Clara told her about Martin and Dianna. She is however brought back from her thoughts by Dianna shouting mummy. Marianna looks at her daughter. Dianna reminds her that she hasn't greeted Martin (or Uncle Martin) as she calls him. Marianna greets Martin then tells Dianna that he is tired and she should let him rest. Martin tells Marianna that it's okay. He then puts Dianna down. He tells them that he will be back in a few minutes. He turns and goes towards his room.
Meanwhile,
At Horacio's house,
He is there with Isabella and Alejandro. They are discussing the unforeseen revelation that the twins' father is alive. Isabella says that shouldn't be too relevant to them because they can still carry out their plans regardless of him being alive. Alejandro says that they have to make sure the twins, Adrianna, Antonio, Marianna, and Martin all pay. He adds that they have to make sure that they are never happy at all. Isabella says to herself that if Antonio won't be hers, he won't be anyone else's. She adds that she won't let that silly girl (Gabriela) have him.
Back at Martin's house,
Martin comes back to the dining room, from his bedroom. He is carrying his phone in one hand and a white paper bag in the other. He finds that Marianna has placed a glass of juice and two muffins for him to have. Martin is surprised. He is sure that he didn't buy them. He, however, sips the juice. He asks Marianna if she bought them. Marianna says that she didn't. Dianna calls Martin and says that her grandmother also bought her coloring books. Martin takes a bite into one of the muffins. He is very sure it wasn't his mother who was here.
He looks at Marianna and asks her if his grandmother was there. Marianna stays quiet for a few seconds then says that it was her. Before Martin can say anything else, Dianna asks him what is in the white bag. He smiles at her and tells her to close her eyes. Dianna closes her eyes. He tells her no peaking. Dianna says that she isn't peaking. Martin removes a bar of milk chocolate and tells Dianna to open her eyes. She does and smiles when she sees the chocolate.
She moves to grab it but Marianna tells her to wait first. Dianna looks at her mother and scowls. Marianna says that if she wants something, she has to ask nicely. Dianna asks Martin to please give her some chocolate. He gives her a bar and she thanks him. He hands Marianna a bar and opens one himself. Dianna asks Martin if he will color with her. Marianna says that Martin is busy and that might not always be possible. Martin says that they can start the next day. The smile on Dianna's face is infectious.
Back at Antonio and Gabriela's house,
There is a knock on the door. Gabriela opens it. It is her brother, Hernan. He asks her where their father and Aranza were. Gabriela says that their father went to the park with Anna Patricia and Aranza had errands to run. He asks her if Antonio is around. Gabriela says that he had some errands to run. She says that she is with the boys. Hernan says that he just wanted to drop by and see how she is.
Just then Ricardo and Hannibal come running into the room and both hug Hernan. He walks with his sister and the boys towards the dining room. Once there, Gabriela asks her brother what he wants. Hernan says that he will have some juice. There were already two packets of juice on the table because Gabriela was giving the boys their evening snack. She says that she is going to get glasses from the kitchen.
