EPISODE 85

 

Back at the Montes De Alba mansion,

There is a knock on Adrianna's door. Aranza goes and opens it. It's Antonio. Both girls are surprised to see him there. He sits comfortably on one side of the bed and asks them what they were talking about. Adrianna says nothing, so Aranza tells him that Adrianna is marrying Alejandro. Adrianna frowns at her cousin. Antonio says he knows the threats and says that even though, there still has to be another option.

Adrianna says that they all know that they have been cornered. Aranza asks him if she thinks Gina has accepted Horacio's offer. Antonio looks at her and asks her if Gina told her something. Aranza says Gina hasn't told her anything but says that Horacio, Alejandro, Marianna, and Isabella are probably working together so she wouldn't be surprised if all their actions were coordinated. Antonio thinks about the possibility.

 

The next day on Friday,

Gina, is alone in the house, as Hector has already left for work. She wipes away some tears as she goes to the kitchen to get a glass of water. She hears a knock on the door. She takes a sip from the glass, then goes to open the door. She thinks it's Hector and starts to ask him what he has forgotten but stares nervously when she sees it is Antonio. He enters, the house, and she locks the door.

 

He moves towards the dining area, and she follows him. He sits down and she sits opposite him. He asks her if she is marrying Horacio. Gina is a little surprised he knows. She asks him how he knows. He says that Adrianna is marrying Alejandro so he figured out maybe she too was making a similar mistake.

 

Gina stands up. She never wanted to have such a conversation with Antonio. It is uncomfortable and painful. Antonio follows her and uses one hand to hold one of her arms. She turns to face him, and he tells her not to make the mistake of marrying Horacio. He adds that they love each other, and kisses her. Gina kisses him too for a while. She then pulls away and says that there is nothing that they can do, no matter how much they want to be together. Antonio says that they can work on their problems as a couple and solve them. Gina insists that they have no other options.

 

Later at the university,

Aranza and Aurelio, are sitting at a bench. He asks her why she looks so sad. She tells him about Adrianna agreeing to marry Alejandro, and adds that she is sure that Gina will agree to marry Horacio. Aurelio is shocked. He says that it is sad news. Aranza nods and says that Hector and Antonio will probably marry Marianna and Isabella too as time moves on.

Aurelio asks her what she will do. Aranza asks him what he means. He says he is curious to know what she will do about the marriages. Aranza says that she won't do anything because it is not her battle to fight, and because she doesn't want to add stress to anyone. Aurelio looks at Aranza suspiciously. She frowns and says that she won't do anything. He calls her, her royal nosiness and says whatever she says. She frowns, then smiles at him.

 

Sometime later, Hector and Martin meet at an empty washroom. Hector tells him about Gina agreeing to marry, Horacio, and Adrianna probably having agreed to marry Alejandro. Martin is of course shocked. He then says, that their only way out, is to reveal themselves, and that will be hard because of their father. Hector says that they are caught between a rock and a hard place.

 

Martin asks him who knows about the weddings. Hector says that Horacio and Alejandro planned everything with Marianna and Isabella, so they all know. He then adds that the only people who don't know are probably, the family. Martin asks him, what he will do. Hector says at this point, his and his sister's hands are tied.

 

Meanwhile, Claudia calls Isabella. She frowns but picks up the call. Claudia asks Isabella if she has heard the news about Horacio, and Gina's upcoming wedding. Isabella, says she had heard and adds that it gives her hope, that she will eventually marry Antonio. Claudia tells Isabella to be patient because very soon, she will get Antonio and adds that she has proved that she loves him. Isabella says that she does love him, but she is getting fed up. Claudia tells Isabella that she can get Antonio to marry her.

 

Sometime later, Hector goes to visit Adrianna. She is nervous but agrees to see him, anyway. They are in the garden. He moves to her side and kisses her, and she kisses him back. After some minutes she pulls away. She tells him that, they cannot do that again. He says he has already heard about her marrying Alejandro. He tells her that he doesn't think that it is a good idea. Adrianna says that they have been pushed to the wall, and are surrounded by snakes. Hector says that he understands that because Marianna is threatening to take away their daughter.

 

Adrianna is shocked and says that, is even more reason why they should break up permanently. She says that she can't let his daughter live far from him, especially with a mother like the one she has. Hector is surprised at the comment and holds one of her arms. Adrianna looks up at him. He asks her if she has heard anything about Marianna, mistreating their daughter. Adrianna says she hasn't heard anything, but given what Marianna has done, and the company she keeps, she doesn't trust her parenting skills. Hector looks at her suspiciously and asks her if she is lying. Adrianna says that she isn't.

 

At the end of the day, Hector and Gina go to visit their father. He looks at both of them and asks them what's happening. Gina tells him that she is marrying Horacio, and Hector tells him that Adrianna is marrying Alejandro. He adds that at some point he will marry Marianna. Their father looks at them like they are mad. He asks them why they would marry such evil people. Hector says that sometimes difficult decisions have to be made, for the greater good. John (Gabriel) says that he understands, what has been done to them, and their reasons but those marriages aren't the solutions.

 

John asks them, why they want to condemn themselves to loveless marriages, to people, who are heartless and overly ambitious potentially forever. Gina tells him not to worry because it won't be forever. Hector gives her a warning glare, and she rolls her eyes and folds her hands. John looks at both of them, and authoritatively tells them to both be mature, and not to even think of fighting. They are both surprised at the tone of his voice, and then turn to face him. He then frowns. Gina asks him if he is okay. He says that he is fine.

 

He adds that when he told them not to argue, he had a feeling of having been in a similar situation before. Hector asks him what he means. John says he just feels like he has, told some children before not to argue. Hector asks him if it’s the children, from his memories. John, says he's not very sure. He then tells them about a flashback, in which there is a boy and a girl who are about five years old, and they are arguing because the boy broke his sister's doll. Their father comes in and in an equally authoritative manner asks them why they are arguing. She, calling him daddy tells him that this one point to her brother (Hernan/Hector) broke her toys because he is a bully who hates her.

 

The brother says that he isn't a bully and that he doesn't hate her. Gabriela/ Gina mocks her brother and mimics his words. He glares at her and sticks his tongue out at her. She does the same. Their father coughs, to get back their attention, and they look at him. He tells the girl that he will buy her a new doll and grounds the boy. Back to the present, Hector looks at Gina, then asks their father if he remembers the children's names. John says that he, doesn't remember anything, but he thinks that the children in the memory are his. Gina glares at her brother who ignores her. What kind of questions is he asking? Their father could remember too much too quickly and that could be dangerous for him.

 

The next day on Saturday,

Carlos calls Anna Patricia, but she ignores his call. She is in the kitchen of her parents' house. Clara then comes in and asks her what's wrong. Anna Patricia says that she is okay. Clara looks at her suspiciously. She then says that she may be old, but she isn't a fool. Anna Patricia smiles at her mother, who still stares at her suspiciously. Clara then reminds her that she knows her very well, and can tell something is up. Clara continues and asks her if she is waiting for whatever it is to worsen. Anna Patricia tells her mother to stop being dramatic but thinks about what she said. She then says that she will tell her.

 

Back at the Montes De Alba mansion,

Aranza asks Adrianna if she is going, downstairs to meet her future husband. Adrianna rolls her eyes and says that those words disgust her when used to refer to Alejandro. Aranza smiles and says that she has something to say. Adrianna asks her what she did. Aranza pouts and says that she is a good girl. She adds that she was, just going to advise her to fight Alejandro tactfully and not be so direct about it. Adrianna looks at her surprised.

 

Aranza shrugs and says, that the whole marriage is a farce, and Alejandro shouldn't be happy either. Aranza then tells Adrianna that she should be, tougher and even in this situation, she should know when and where to put her foot down. Adrianna smiles and tells Aranza that she is so much like Gina. Aranza says that she has never thought about it much, but she probably is.

 

Back at Ramon and Clara's house,

Anna Patricia has just told her mother about Carlos harassing her. Clara asks her why she had not told anyone, what was happening. Anna Patricia says that she felt that she could deal with it all. Clara tells her that unless she is more forceful, he will feel encouraged. She says that she doesn't want what happened to her (Clara) to happen to her (Anna Patricia). Anna Patricia then hugs her mother.

 

Meanwhile at the Montes De Alba mansion,

Adrianna is in the garden, with Alejandro, who had arrived a little while earlier and found her there. He tries to touch her but she recoils. He stares at her and reminds her of their wedding. She says that she hasn't forgotten her, duties. He tells her that she should start planning their wedding, because it will happen soon, and no one will stop it. Adrianna, says that she will contact a wedding planning agency and they can do whatever they want and take the burden off her back. Alejandro is caught off guard, he hadn't seen that response coming. He says that he can see her excitement, about the wedding.

 

Adrianna says that she wants to get it over with so that she can get back to what matters, her daughter. Alejandro corrects her and says their daughter. Adrianna ignores him and asks him why he came there. Alejandro momentarily stares at her. He tells himself that he doesn't like that assertive side of her and will clip it. Out loud he says that he came to, see their daughter. Adrianna says that they should go and get the visit done and over with.
