EPISODE 125

 

At Martin's house,

Marianna is lying on a couch using her phone when she receives a message. It is from Renata greeting her and telling her to check WhatsApp. Curiously, she does and she sees a message and a series of pictures from Renata. Renata says that she has sent her pictures of her grandmother when she was younger. Marianna loads the pictures and she is shocked. The resemblance was more than Renata described. They look like the exact same person.

 

Marianna says that she needs to talk to Renata and find out more about her family and if they can figure out how she (Marianna) is connected to the family. Marianna then remembers that she lives with Martin and given the current circumstances she can't leave to go anywhere alone. She hugs a pillow and says she has to think of a way to deal with Martin because what is at stake is very important. She adds that as soon as Renata's grandfather stabilizes, she will talk with Renata to see how they can find out why she looks like Renata's grandmother.

 

Back at Antonio and Gabriela's house,

Delia says that there were always stories going around that the accident that killed her (Aranza's) father was deliberate, but she'd assumed that it was just conspiracy theories. Antonio says that they were not false accusations but were the truth. Delia says that she doesn't understand why they are telling her any of those things. Antonio says that they need her help to bring justice and to bring down their evil parents. Delia says that she would love to help but she doesn't really know how she can help.

 

Aranza says that they need her help with the grand revelation of someone who will help bring down her mother and his (Antonio's) father. Delia asks who they are talking about. Aranza says that her father is still alive. Delia is shocked. She asks Aranza how that is possible when a funeral was held to bury her father. Aranza says that whether it was on purpose or by mistake, somebody else's body was buried and the body was declared as her father's. Aranza adds that it's a long story but she will summarize the important parts for her.

 

Elsewhere,

Martin's phone rings. He sees who it is. It is his grandmother, Clara. He frowns but picks it up. After greeting him, she says that she would like to talk to him. Martin asks her if she wants to talk to him with his grandfather and mother. Clara says that she wants to catch up with him alone. Martin rolls his eyes. He says to himself that his grandmother wants to grill him about Marianna alone.

 

Martin asks his grandmother if they can meet the next day or after two days. Clara sighs dramatically and says that she forgot that he agreed to Adrianna's crazy plan to bring Dianna over to his house. Martin frowns. He says that Dianna is just a child and it’s not her fault that she has the kind of parents she has. Clara sighs dramatically.

 

Back at Antonio's house,

Delia is shocked. She can't believe what she has just heard. She agrees to help Antonio and Aranza bring down their parents. Antonio reminds her that for the plan to work and for the safety of her and her family, she shouldn't tell anyone about the plan. Delia agrees to keep the secret. She then asks Antonio where she will work to prepare her (Aranza's) father for the reveal. Antonio says that he will tell her in a moment.

 

Two days later on Thursday,

At Ramon and Clara's house,

Martin is meeting with his grandmother. She tells him that she is simply concerned about him. Martin sips his juice then tells her that he is fine, and she has no reason to worry. Clara gives him a side-eye and sips her glass of juice. Martin says that he knows that they are all concerned about him helping Marianna, but he has thought through it and he knows what he is doing. Clara says that she isn't so sure he does. Martin says that he knows that Marianna has done a lot of bad things but he wants to help her and give her a second chance at life.

 

Clara says that there isn't any problem with that. She adds that her concern, in particular, is that Marianna lives in his house. Martin says as he said, Marianna living in his house is a temporary measure. He adds that they have nothing to worry about because he can handle her. Clara says that she doesn't doubt that he can handle her. Martin asks his grandmother to clearly state what is worrying her. Clara says that Marianna is very beautiful and she doesn't understand why he is tempting himself by asking her to move in. Martin looks at his grandmother shocked.

 

She waves him away and insists that Marianna is very attractive and living with her is testing his self-control. Martin denies that anything will happen between him and Marianna. He adds that too much has happened and anyway she isn't his type. Clara says that Marianna is exactly what he needs. Martin looks at his grandmother uncomfortably. She ignores him and asks him if he has feelings for Marianna. Martin says that he doesn't, and adds that it is very sad that no one believes him. Clara still gives him a bit of side-eye. Martin shakes his head.

 

Elsewhere,

Adrianna has arrived at Martin's house with Dianna in tow. Marianna is nervous but is trying hard not to show it. This was it. Her daughter was finally there. Adrianna tells Dianna to go and greet Marianna. Dianna walks over quietly and greets Marianna. Never has a day passed that Marianna has not regretted what she did especially to her daughter. Dianna hugs her. She then asks her if she will always live there. Marianna tells Dianna that she can stay with her for as long as she wants. Adrianna smiles.

 

One week passes during which the twins get back their legal identities. All relevant paperwork and DNA tests have been done. Also, Santiago's operation is done, and he begins the long road to recovery. As she promised, Claudia takes care of the bill. Also, Dianna formally moves in with Martin and Marianna.

 

That Thursday,

At Montes De Alba Inc.,

Helena is at her office. It is now official. The twins have gotten back their legal identities. The battle lines to gain control of the company have been drawn. She says that she will not surrender an inch of the company to either the twins or Aranza. She adds that they will continue following the twins, Adrianna, Antonio, Aranza, Aurelio, and Martin to find out everything they are doing. Helena pauses then says that she still doesn't understand why Antonio and Aranza met a fashion designer at his (Antonio's) house.

 

Elsewhere, at the hospital,

Renata has gone to visit her grandfather. He is doing much better and is awake. He smiles, through the pain when he sees her. She asks him how he feels. He says that he is much better. He adds that he does think he is a bit too old to be stressing people so much. Renata glares at her grandfather, with eyes so much like his own, and a spirit just like him. She tells him not to repeat that again, not even as a joke because it is not funny.

 

She adds that they all still love him very much and he has many more years to live. He smiles and says that she got his stubbornness. Santiago says that he knows that his operation was expensive and they don't have that kind of money lying around. Renata holds her grandfather's hands and tells him not to worry about that. Santiago asks her why he shouldn't worry about something as important as that. Renata says that the money has already been paid.

 

Santiago is surprised and asks her who paid for his surgery. Renata says that it was Antonio's grandmother. Santiago says that he is afraid that they are beginning to owe Antonio and his grandmother very much. Renata says that she too feels the same but Antonio and his grandmother are helping them and not expecting anything back, and they were not in a position to raise the money for the surgery. Santiago says that he would like to meet Antonio's grandmother. Renata says that will happen very soon.

 

That night,

At Antonio and Gabriela's house,

Antonio is in his study. The boys have slept and Gabriela is in their room. He is lost in his thoughts. Gabriela comes and finds him in that state. She says that she came because she was worried about him, as he has been acting a little strangely for some time, and he has been lost in his thoughts for the past few days. Antonio says that he is fine.

Gabriela isn't convinced. She asks him if it is because of her. Antonio assures her that how he feels has nothing to do with her. Gabriela asks him what it is. Antonio says that the past few weeks have been busy, with everything else going on, work and looking into the families of the three men killed. He says he is just a little tired. Gabriela walks over to Antonio and puts her hands around him. She kisses him and calls him my genius.

 

She says that she loves him, even more, every day and appreciates everything he is doing to help her father. Antonio looks at Gabriela. She is just as beautiful as ever. No matter how much Antonio wants to kiss Gabriela and take her straight to his room, he controls himself and walks away from her. What he knows is so shocking, he doesn't know what to do. He is very confused.

 

Gabriela doesn't know what to think. What is going on with Antonio? He has never rejected her unless he was very angry at her, or he was sick. Since he wasn't sick, he was definitely angry at her. Gabriela tells him that she wants to help him if something is going on, but she can't do anything if he won't tell her what it is. She adds that she can't help but feel that she is the cause of him feeling bad.

 

Elsewhere at Hernan and Adrianna's house,

He is in the sitting room, sitting in the dark. He waited until Adrianna fell asleep then he got up. No matter how hard he tries, he couldn't sleep. He has too much on his mind. He runs his hand through his hair. He hears some footsteps and turns. He then goes and turns on the lights. He then asks Adrianna if she is fine. Adrianna says that she is okay. She says that she woke up and got worried when she didn't find him there. Hernan admits that he couldn't sleep. He says that he has a lot on his mind. 

 

Adrianna asks him if he is thinking about his father's grand reveal.

Hernan admits that he is and adds that he is also thinking about Martin. Hernan says that his cousin is usually the most rational and responsible one in their family so he doesn't understand the situation with Marianna. Adrianna asks him how he would feel if something happened between Martin and Marianna. Hernan runs his hand through his hair. He says that it would be awkward because Marianna is his ex-wife, and also because of Emma's murder. He adds that he wouldn't know how to feel.

 

Back at Antonio and Gabriela's house,

Antonio is by Gabriela's side. He holds both her hands in his. He assures her that he isn't angry at her. Gabriela asks him what's going on. Antonio moves from her and sighs. He knows he has to tell somebody or he will go crazy. He says to himself that things are delicate and he cannot risk her father or Delia's safety and he, unfortunately, cannot tell the people he needs to tell first.

 

Gabriela places her hand on his arm. He snaps out of it and he looks at her. She says that whatever it is they can deal with it together. Antonio says it's a long story and it's late. Gabriela says time doesn't matter and she will listen to him. Antonio smiles and says that while researching the three men, he found out that one of them whose name was Diego was Santiago's son.

 

Gabriela is shocked. She says that she doesn't understand why neither Santiago, Damian nor Renata ever mentioned anything. Antonio says he believes because it has been so many years and most people believe the crash was an accident, maybe they believed there was no point in bringing it up. Gabriela adds the lack of evidence and the family being preoccupied with Santiago's accident, are also factors. Antonio nods. He then says what he said is just the beginning. Gabriela asks him what else there could possibly be. Antonio says that he took the investigation further than he had to. Gabriela says that she doesn't understand him.

 

Antonio says that the important part was finding out a family member of any of the men who would be the perfect fit to help them. He adds that he got more curious about the men as individuals and started a side search on them individually. He adds that the first two, including Delia's uncle, were married and had two children each. He says that Diego was single with no child. He says that he continued researching on the first two men and their children but always came back to Diego. He says that because of the crime his father committed, he wanted to find out if Diego could have had a child, at least a part of him somewhere in this world.
