EPISODE 122

 

Later at night

At Antonio and Gabriela's house, she is there with the children alone. She watches the boys run around happily. Her mind is on Martin's announcement that Marianna has temporarily moved into his house. Gabriela says that she knows Martin too well and knows that he would never have had an affair with Marianna while she was still married to Hernan. She adds that now that they are both single and they are going to live together, things could change, and change very fast. She then adds that Marianna is very pretty and her cousin is testing his self-control far too much.

 

Gabriela looks at her phone and says that it was late and Antonio wasn't back and he hadn't told her he would be late or where he was. She adds that he took some time to forgive his grandmother and there is no telling how long he will take with her, given the extent of her lies. Gabriela then says given that he doesn't sleep in their room, and spends as little time with her alone as possible, it might be a long time. She then says that she is going to do something about it and smiles.

 

The next day on Wednesday,

At Isabella's house,

She is in the living room when she hears a knock on the door. It is around one in the afternoon. She says out loud that she is coming and goes to open it. She doesn't know the person and after greeting them asks them who they are. The person introduces himself and says that he is a lawyer and he was sent by Antonio (he uses Antonio's full name, Antonio Miguel Diaz). Isabella lets the lawyer in and they go to the dining room. Isabella asks the lawyer why Antonio sent him. The lawyer removes a bunch of papers from his briefcase. He then tells Isabella that Antonio wants her to sign the divorce papers. She manages to look shocked.

 

At Montes De Alba Inc.,

Adrianna meets up with Martin at one of the empty board rooms. She thanks him for agreeing to meet her. He says that it’s no problem and adds that he knows that it is something important. Adrianna says that she wanted to talk to him about Marianna and Dianna. Martin asks her what about them she wants to talk to him about. Adrianna says that given how much Marianna has changed, she would like to continue helping her get closer to her daughter because despite everything she is Dianna's mother. Martin asks her what she has in mind.

 

Adrianna says that for the time Marianna is staying at his house, they could start with Dianna coming over a little as they see how she responds to Marianna. Adrianna adds that based on how things go, they could increase the amount of time, the two of them spend together. Martin is a little shocked. He hadn't even remotely thought about such a possibility. A child in the house? That would require a lot of work and getting used to.

 

Elsewhere at Montes De Alba Inc.,

Hernan is having lunch with Aranza. She asks him where Adrianna is. He tells her that she wanted to talk to Martin, but wouldn't tell him what it was about. Aranza smiles. Hernan looks at her and says that she knows what Adrianna wanted to talk to Martin about. Aranza says that of course, she knows what Adrianna is up to because she understands how her cousin's mind works. Hernan says and she is nosy. Aranza rolls her eyes at him and says that she won't tell him what she knows if he continues teasing her. Hernan says that he is listening. Aranza says that she is sure, her cousin wanted to talk to Martin about Marianna and Dianna.

 

Back at Isabella's house,

She asks the lawyer on what grounds Antonio is filing for divorce. The lawyer says that Antonio is using the grounds of cruelty, because of all the drugging, murder, and baby switching. He adds that additionally, he says that she used fraudulent means to get him to marry her, by switching the children. The lawyer says that he has the full details in the papers. Isabella says that she knows very well everything that she is accused of, and as always, she insists that she is innocent and she will prove that in court. Isabella adds that she married Antonio and she intends to respect her vows.

 

The lawyer says that he would advise her, legal issues aside, to sign the divorce papers, and keep things civil, for the children's sake. Isabella says that she will never divorce Antonio. The lawyer hands the divorce papers to her. She glares at him and throws the divorce papers in his face. He kneels and picks them up. Isabella tells him to tell Antonio that she won't sign any divorce papers.

 

Back at Montes De Alba Inc.,

Adrianna says that she knows that adding Dianna into the mix may be too much for him because a child is a lot of work and commitment, and he hadn't factored in Dianna. Martin admits that he hadn't factored her in but it won't be a problem. Adrianna asks him if he is sure. She warns him that while Dianna is a sweet child she can occasionally be like a mini version of her mother. Martin smiles and says that he will be fine. Adrianna says that she doesn't want to bother him and intrude on his personal space.

 

Martin assures her that it won't be a problem. Martin looks sad, and Adrianna asks him if he was thinking of Emma and his child. He admits he was and says that it still pains him to think of them. He adds that every time he looks at any of the children, he can't help but think of his child. Adrianna asks him if seeing Dianna every day will be too painful. Martin says that he will be okay. Adrianna places a hand on his shoulder.

 

Elsewhere at Montes De Alba Inc.,

Aranza says that Adrianna probably wants to talk to Martin to see how they can arrange for Dianna to continue reentering Marianna's life, starting with visiting her (Marianna). Hernan says that it's okay and it's in the child's best interests. Aranza asks him how he feels about Martin asking Marianna to move into his house. Hernan says that's it's a bit uncomfortable, but Martin is an adult and he (Hernan) would like to believe he knows what he is doing. Aranza says that she doesn't think that anything went on between the two when he was still married to Marianna.

 

She then adds that now Marianna is single and Martin is kind of single, so anything can happen while they are living under the same house. Hernan looks at his sister, and she smiles sweetly. Hernan shakes his head and while calling Aranza my crazy little sister, says that she comes up with the wildest ideas. Aranza says that it's not crazy. She says that both Martin and Marianna are young and good-looking. Hernan asks her what she means when she says that Martin is kind of single. Aranza says that kind of single means that he isn't in a relationship but occasionally sees someone. Hernan shakes his head at ideas Aranza comes up with.

 

Later in the evening,

At Martin's house,

Marianna is in the sitting room. She looks at some of the pictures on the wall. In one, Martin is with his mother, in another, he is with all his cousins, in another, he is with the whole family, and in the last one, he is with his grandfather. Her mind lingers on the picture where he is with his cousins. She says that his family is very close and the last thing she wants is to be the cause of any problems between them.

 

Elsewhere at Helena's office,

She is there with Carlos. She says that she is sure that the twins are doing something to prepare for their first meeting with the whole company board. Carlos says that they have people following the twins, Adrianna, Antonio, Aurelio, Aranza, and Martin, so if any of them were planning anything they would have known by now. Carlos says that the only different things were Marianna moving into Martin's house and Isabella, Horacio, and Alejandro being served with divorce papers and none of those affect them. Helena says that she knows that, but she just can't shake the feeling that the twins are planning something.

 

Sometime later,

At Alejandro's house,

He is there with Isabella and Horacio. By now, they have all been served with the divorce papers. Isabella says that they are not going to give up and just hand them over to each other. She adds that now that they know the twin's real identities, they have to get a slice of that Montes De Alba pie. Horacio says that he isn't letting go of Gina, he then pauses and says or maybe he should call her Gabriela. He adds that he won't let Antonio have her easily or let go of her family fortune.

 

Later that night,

At Antonio and Gabriela's house,

Gabriela is in the sitting room. So much is going on. Her life keeps on getting more and more complicated. She looks at her phone which was on a nearby table. She goes and picks it up. She says that she needs a breath of fresh air. She starts to walk towards the door. She hears her name and turns. It's Antonio. She turns and faces him. She then ignores him and walks past him. Antonio moves and holds one of her hands. She turns and faces him. He asks her if she is fine. Gabriela says that she is. He says that he was going to the kitchen for water when he saw her leaving and was concerned because it was quite late. Gabriela says that she's fine but she just needed some air. 

 

She adds that she needs to go, but Antonio doesn't let her leave. She asks him what he wants. She says that she gave him space, and now she wants her own. Despite still being hurt by her deception, he still loved her, and he wanted her. It had been so many days since, he made love to her, and living in the same house and not touching her, was pure torture. Gabriela struggles free but Antonio moves quickly and gently holds her again. She looks up at him. Antonio moves in and kisses her. Gabriela kisses him back then pulls away and increases the distance between them. She needed time to think.

 

At Martin's house,

Marianna is in the sitting room. She is unable to sleep. She has too much on her mind. She sips a glass of water. She is lost in her thoughts and doesn't notice Martin standing behind her. He taps her shoulder gently and she doesn't respond. Martin taps her twice again before she responds. Marianna apologizes and says that she was just thinking about everything and her life in general. Martin says that it's not a problem. Marianna asks him if he can't sleep either.

 

Martin smiles and says something like that. He then adds that he had something to tell her but was going to wait until morning. Marianna says that it’s no problem and he can tell her. Martin asks her if it isn't too late for him to tell her. Marianna says that she is fine. After a pause, Martin says that he talked to Adrianna about her and Dianna. Marianna asks Martin what Adrianna wanted to tell her about her and her daughter. Martin says that Adrianna wanted to continue bringing her (Marianna) and her daughter Dianna closer.

 

He continues and says that Adrianna wanted to bring Dianna here a little at first and then depending on how well or how soon she bonds with her (Marianna), she can be coming over more often. Marianna looks horrified at the thought. Martin is shocked at her response and asks her if she doesn't want her daughter around. Marianna says that she wants that more than anything else. Martin asks her what the problem is.

 

Back at Antonio and Gabriela's house

Antonio asks Gabriela what the problem is. She insists that as she said, she needs her space as well. Antonio says that he has had time to think and he would like them to work towards rebuilding their relationship. Gabriela folds her hands and glares at Antonio. She says that he ignores her for days, and out of the blue, he wants to work things out. Gabriela says that maybe they can work things out later.

 

She starts to walk towards the door to leave but Antonio holds her hand again. He says that he was very hurt and is still very hurt by her lies. Gabriela calms down. She says that she is sorry and adds that if he is still angry at her, he should let her be. Antonio says that it doesn't mean that he doesn't love her. He then strokes her face and leans in and kisses her. Gabriela puts her hands around him and kisses him back.
