EPISODE 121

 

Monday reaches, and Marianna is discharged from the hospital. To her own surprise, she agrees to Martin's suggestion and moves into his house. She moves into the second room. Marianna looks around the room and hugs herself. She takes a deep breath and says to herself that it was madness. She then sits on the chair that was near the work desk. Just then there is a knock on the door and after a few seconds, Martin enters. Marianna looks at him then looks aside. Martin tells her that they will go and get her things the next day. He asks her how she feels. Marianna looks at him and then says that she is fine.

 

She asks him if he is sure of what he is doing. Martin says that he is. He reminds her that Alejandro is crazy and is almost as obsessed with her as he is with Adrianna. He adds that on top of that Alejandro, Isabella, and Horacio are still bitter with her, for talking and they won't let her recover in peace. Marianna says that she knows all that, but as she said over the past few days, they can't ignore what she did, and how uncomfortable it will be for everyone involved. Martin tells her to relax and says that he will deal with his family.

 

Sometime later, at Antonio and Gabriela's house,

Gabriela goes to talk to Antonio. He is in his study. Antonio is still very hurt by Gabriela's deception. When at home he is either with the boys or in his study. He spends as little time with her alone, as possible. He even moved out of their room and started sleeping in a sleeping bag in his study. Antonio is doing some work on his laptop. Gabriela asks him if they could talk. After a few seconds, he looks up from his laptop and says that he is listening. Gabriela sits on one of the two adjacent chairs.

 

She then says that she and her siblings need help with the reveal they are doing to let everyone know that their father is still alive. Antonio says that he doesn't understand what she means. Gabriela says that Aranza suggested that they should get a family member of one of the three men killed during the attempt on her father's life, to help with the reveal. She adds that her sister thinks that they would want justice for their family member more than the fame or money from talking to the media. She also says that they are therefore less likely to talk.

 

Meanwhile at Alejandro's house,

He is there with Isabella and Horacio. They are discussing Marianna's decision to go to Martin's house. Alejandro is really bothered. What is going on between Marianna and Martin? Horacio says that they should leave Marianna alone because she has already betrayed them. He adds that they should focus on fighting their enemies and getting themselves out of their current problems. Alejandro says to himself that he will lose neither Adrianna nor Marianna. He adds that he will make both Hernan and Martin pay.

 

Back at Martin's house,

Marianna looks at Martin and asks him if he is trying to babysit her. Martin folds his hands and asks her what she means. Marianna says that she has been thinking a lot about his offer. She says that she has concluded that he and his family are trying to babysit her and keep her away from the influences of Alejandro, Isabella, and Horacio. Martin says that he is trying to help her and keep her safe, rather than babysit her. Marianna says that she won't stay for long because it is improper.

 

She says that a week or two is sufficient. Martin is non-committal and says that only time will tell. Marianna stands and glares at him. She tells him that despite all her mistakes she does not need him to monitor her. Martin smiles and she glares at him. He then says that she is safer with him as she recovers. He reminds her that Alejandro is crazy. Marianna asks Martin if he has told anyone in his family, that he brought her to his house.

 

Martin admits that he hasn't yet, but he will. She looks worried and he tells her that everything will be fine. She says that she knows that they won't like it, given everything that has happened, and the last thing she wants to do is to cause problems between him and his family. Martin tells her not to worry. He says that he knows how to handle them. He then says that he has already shown her around, and asks her if she needs anything or has any questions. She says that she's fine, she then asks him if he has Wi-Fi. He is surprised by the question but says he does.

 

Back at Antonio and Gabriela's house,

Antonio looks at Gabriela then asks her if they want him to look into the families of the three men killed. Gabriela looks at him nervously then says yes. Antonio asks her what exactly they want him to do. Gabriela says that they need him to find a relative of one of the three men, who can help with their grand reveal. She says that the person doesn't necessarily have to have studied makeup or fashion, but they just have to be good at it. When she finishes, he doesn't say anything. Gabriela asks him if he can do it. Antonio says it will be hard but he can find the best person possible. Gabriela thanks him for agreeing to do it.

 

Later that night,

At Hernan and Adrianna's house,

The air is still tense between Hernan and Adrianna. She is still hurt after the big revelations. She has moved out of their room and into Gisela's room. Adrianna is in the sitting room, reading a book. Both girls are asleep. Hernan leaves his room and sits across from her but she doesn't say a word to him. He says that he would like to talk to her. Adrianna stands and turns to go to her room, but he holds her hand. Adrianna turns and looks at him. He says that he will never get tired of proving how sorry he is and how much he loves her. Adrianna says that he deceived her for nearly four years, and it's not something that can be forgotten easily.

 

Hernan says that he knows and understands that and that's why he wants them to work on rebuilding their relationship. Adrianna asks Hernan if there are any more secrets. He assures her that there is nothing else he is hiding from her. Adrianna says that's good because, after everything she has just found out, she'd never forgive him if she found out another secret that he had been keeping. Hernan assures her that things will get better, he then strokes her face and comes closer to her, and kisses her. Despite everything happening around them and her still being hurt by him, Adrianna kisses him back.

 

The next day on Tuesday,

Martin meets Hernan and Gabriela in the morning. Gabriela looks at Martin and asks him what is going on. Martin says that he has something he needs to tell them. He then fiddles and says that he took Marianna to his house. Hernan and Gabriela are both shocked, especially Hernan. He asks Martin what exactly he is trying to do. Martin says that Alejandro is crazy and he personally witnessed him physically attack Marianna in hospital. He adds that Marianna is still recovering and she needs a more peaceful environment than her own house. Hernan, still very shocked and apprehensive about the whole idea asks Martin for how long he plans to have Marianna in his house.

 

Martin says that it's a temporary measure as she recovers. He also adds that it’s also for her own safety, to make sure her former friends don't try to take revenge on her or rope her into another of their schemes to hurt them (Hernan and Gabriela), Adrianna, Antonio, or the children. Gabriela says that she is trying to understand what he is doing then asks him if he is sure about his decision. She adds that she can already imagine the reaction of everyone else especially his mother and their grandparents. Martin says that he just wants to help her. He says that he knows that it will be difficult and awkward for everyone to get used to, but he does know what he is doing.

 

Gabriela looks at her brother and says that he has been very quiet. Hernan looks at Martin and asks him if something is going on between him and Marianna. Martin looks at Hernan and says that he doesn't have anything going on with Marianna. Hernan apologizes. He says that given the fact that he was married to Marianna until recently, he wanted to know if he (Martin) had anything to do with Marianna while they were still married. Martin assures Hernan that he respects him too much to betray him. He then asks Gabriela if Antonio agreed to help them. She says that he did. Hernan says that's good.

 

Later during lunch,

Aurelio and Aranza are at the company cafeteria. They have just found out about Martin asking Marianna to move into his house, temporarily. Aurelio says that he is shocked because Martin is usually the most responsible and sensible one. Aranza says that she is shocked too. She asks Aurelio if he thinks something is going on between Martin and Marianna. Aurelio says that he knows Martin well enough to know that he would never have gotten into a relationship with Marianna while Marianna was still married to her brother. He adds that Martin loves and respects him too much. Aranza says now Marianna and her brother are divorced and Marianna is going to temporarily stay at Martin's house, anything can happen.

 

Aurelio looks slightly horrified at the idea. Aranza shrugs and says that both Martin and Marianna are single. Aurelio says it's awkward to think of that, but Marianna is very beautiful and his cousin isn't blind and won't be able to stay with her and not get tempted. Aranza sulks and glares at Aurelio. He looks at her and asks her what he did. Aranza says that he is not supposed to comment on another woman's looks unless she is a celebrity, they are unlikely to meet. Aurelio smiles. He then strokes her face and says that he only has eyes for her, and she is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. Aranza smiles.

 

Meanwhile,

Helena is in her office. She has been restless ever since she found out about the twins being alive. What are they up to, what are they planning? She paces around and then says that the people watching them have not seen any change, in the twins, Adrianna, or Antonio's routine. She adds that she needs to prepare for the upcoming war, once the twins get back their legal identities and start the process of taking back the company.

 

Meanwhile back at the mental hospital,

Gabriel is going through some old newspapers, to see if he can remember anything. They are newspapers from the day, of the accident that almost killed him. He is preparing for the day he will eventually reveal himself to the public. He needs to know enough about the important events in his past if he is to have a future. He has a flashback in which a beautiful woman tells him she is pregnant. They are in a large spacious bedroom in a large mansion. He then looks through the newspapers on his desk. He says out loud, Helena. He then says to himself that he will soon find out if she is as evil as everyone says she is.

 

Meanwhile at Martin's house,

Marianna is in the kitchen. She is making a sandwich and tea for herself. Her phone, which was nearby rings. She picks it up and sees an unknown number. She looks at it suspiciously but answers it. Immediately she hears the voice on the other end, she regrets that decision. It is the last person she wants to hear from- Alejandro. He calls her an angel and asks her how she is. Marianna folds her hands in fear and asks Alejandro what he wants. Alejandro says that he wants her. Marianna sighs and says that she is tired of him, and just wants to rebuild her life with her daughter.

 

Alejandro corrects her and says their daughter. Marianna says that Dianna doesn't need him and neither does she. Alejandro sarcastically asks her if Martin will help her. He adds that she will go to jail for many years, and she will see neither Martin nor her daughter ever again. Marianna says that she has admitted her mistakes and she is ready to pay for them then hangs up and runs a hand through her hair. She says that she just wants to be free from Alejandro. Meanwhile, he says that he will never allow either Adrianna or Marianna to be with anyone else.

 

Later at Armando and Luisa's house,

Martin is there with his mother, aunt, uncle, and grandparents. Clara asks him what was so important that he (Martin) wanted to talk to all of them alone about. She adds that none of his cousins wanted to tell her anything no matter how hard she tried prodding them. Martin smiles. He says that he wanted to tell them himself. Anna Patricia asks him what he did. Martin says that he took Marianna to his house. Everyone is shocked by Martin's words. Ramon asks Martin what he is trying to do. Martin says that Marianna is still in recovery, and he thinks that she will be safer not living alone. He adds that he saw Alejandro physically attacking her in the hospital.

 

Claudia looks at her husband. He knows what she means. Martin is just like him. Claudia then looks at Martin and asks him what his cousins, especially Hernan think of Marianna moving into his house. Martin says that he already talked to them and made it clear that it is a temporary move, and that nothing has ever gone on between him and Marianna and nothing ever will either. Anna Patricia looks at her son. She tells him that she believes that he would never betray his cousin. She adds that things are now different because he and Marianna are both single. Clara says to herself that she will have to make time to talk to Marianna alone.
