EPISODE 115

 

Later that night at Hector and Adrianna's house,

The girls are sleeping, and Adrianna is in the dining room, trying to read a book. Hector comes and sits by her side but she ignores him. He takes the book and places it aside. Adrianna stands up and starts to walk off to check on the girls, but Hector holds her hand and she turns to face him. He can see that she knows. He says that he knows that she is hurt by finding out that he and Gina are siblings because he didn't tell her and he should have. He says that he is sorry. Adrianna says that a simple sorry won't do it. She says that she can't believe that after everything that they have been through he doesn't trust her with whatever tragedy he and his sister went through.

 

Hector sighs. He adds that he understands that all the secrecy bothers her, then asks her to trust him. He adds that soon enough he will tell her everything. Adrianna folds her hands and looks at him. She says that she is getting tired of the secrecy and his lack of trust and communication. She says that she is starting not to trust him. It pains Hector to hear Adrianna say that she doesn't trust him. Adrianna says that she wants to be alone and goes to the girls' room. After she leaves, Hector runs one hand through his hair and sighs. He says that he and Gaby (he has always called her that in secret) have dug a deep hole for themselves that will be very hard for them to get out of.

 

Tuesday dawns bright and early,

In Marianna's hospital room, she thinks over her conversation with Adrianna. She says that she was this close to death, but she has been given a second chance. She admits that she has wronged so many people. She says that she has never really felt like she belonged anywhere or been part of a loving family and God gave her a daughter, and she rejected her.

 

She adds that Hector has done so much for her despite everything she has done. She adds that she will do all she can to atone for her mistakes and have a relationship with her daughter. Just then Isabella comes into the room. She asks Marianna how she is. Marianna says she's fine. She adds that the doctor said she would be put in a regular room, soon, if she continues to recover. Isabella says that's good news.

 

Meanwhile at Montes De Alba Inc.,

Martin is with Hector and Gina, at the cafeteria. They are sitting at the terraces. They are fairly empty at this time. Gina asks Martin if he is fine. He says he is. Hector says that something must have happened for him to insist on a private meeting between the three of them so early. Martin gets even more serious. Hector tells him that he is beginning to get worried. Martin says that Marianna told him that she overheard a conversation of Alejandro's when he had gone to visit her and she was faking sleeping to avoid more visitors.

 

Gina asks him what Marianna said. Martin says that it was on Saturday evening, and Alejandro was talking to somebody who seemed to be a private investigator about an investigation the person was carrying out on them (Hector and Gina) to find out their identities. Gina and Hector are both shocked. Hector manages to ask if there is anything else Marianna heard. Gina looks at Martin expectantly. He says that she mentioned that Alejandro was talking to the other person about DNA tests being the only thing left and that it seems that the person has done his investigation and has written a report.

 

Martin seems to think about something for a second then says that Marianna didn't hear a date mentioned, but it seemed the person was coming back to the city, sometime later in the week. Gina runs a hand through her hair. What can they do? Martin says that with Isabella, Alejandro and Horacio they can expect the worst. He adds that there is no telling what they will do with the information or how they will make it known.

 

Hector adds that to make it worse, they don't know whether they will go ahead and publicize the report or find some underhand way of getting the samples and doing the tests. Gina asks Martin if he thinks Marianna was involved in this. She adds that Marianna got injured less than a week ago, and it takes longer than that to carry out such a complicated investigation. He says she didn't seem to know much but either way, it doesn't matter, because at least she told them, and they have to deal with the effects of the bomb that is about to explode.

 

Meanwhile,

Antonio is walking towards a lift to go to the IT offices when his phone rings. He removes it and sees that it is his grandmother. He looks at the phone then seems to think about it. They haven't spoken much since she admitted that she knew about the drugging. The few interactions since then have been awkward. He, however, stops walking and picks up the phone. Claudia says that she misses him, and she wants them to start rebuilding their relationship. Antonio remains quiet and lets her talk. He says to himself that he needs her now more than ever because he feels like he doesn't know who Gina is, and they have a difficult fight ahead with Isabella and Horacio.

 

He adds that he cannot forget what she did to him. Antonio then continues and says to himself that he also knows that he cannot cut her out of his life forever either. He adds that he doesn't know what to do. Claudia calls Antonio and he is brought back to the present. She asks him if he is still on the phone. Antonio says that he is. He admits that he is still hurt and upset over what she did to him and it will take time for him to be over it. Claudia says that she understands. She adds that she is willing to do whatever it takes to get him back because he is what she loves most. Antonio wipes away a lone tear.

 

Meanwhile elsewhere at Montes De Alba Inc.,

Adrianna is on her way to the lift when she receives a call. It is from the girl's school. She is told that Dianna (the real one) got injured. She runs a hand through her hair and asks where Dianna is and she is told. She then asks about her condition. The person says that Dianna collapsed and hurt herself during the fall. Adrianna thanks the person, says that she will come, and then ends the call.

 

She continues to walk again and thinks about how best to handle the situation once she visits Dianna. Adrianna runs into Aranza who folds her hands and looks at her. Adrianna smiles. Aranza asks her what happened. Adrianna says that Dianna is injured and that she will leave to go and check on her in a while. Aranza says that she hopes that she is fine. Adriana says that she too hopes that it’s nothing serious.

 

Hours later,

Gina has gone to visit her father alone. He tells her that they need to keep on praying and to have faith that Dianna will be well. Gina says she knows that Dianna will be okay. She adds that her fear is over something else totally different. Gabriel asks his daughter what she means. Gina says that Horacio and his friends decided to investigate her and her brother, and have found out everything. He is shocked and asks her how they found out. Gina says that Marianna told Martin about the investigation.

She adds that she was pretending to be asleep to avoid visitors when Alejandro came in and answered a call from an investigator.

 

Gina then adds that he asked about the investigation and even mentioned her and her brother. Gina adds that Alejandro also asked about why a DNA test was necessary and when the investigator was coming back to the city. Gabriel says such kind of information is dangerous in the hands of such people. Gina looks at her father and then stands and prances around. Her father asks her if there is anything else. She adds that from what Marianna said, the investigator was coming back some time that week and had written a compiled report.

 

She asks him what they are going to do. He says that they need to prepare for the fallout that is going to happen. Gina says that she is scared of the truth coming out but she is even more scared of the implications. Her father asks her what she means. Gina says the most important issue to consider is whether they will reveal him to the world when the truth comes out or later. Gabriel thinks about the issue, then tells her to ask her brother first. Gina rolls her eyes but says she will.

 

Meanwhile,

Marianna is in her room, reading some magazines when Adrianna comes in. She tells Adrianna that she looks worse than her (Marianna) and she is the one who is sick. Adrianna takes a deep breath and says that something bad has happened. Marianna asks her what she means. Adrianna tells her that Dianna got injured. Marianna asks her what happened. Adrianna says that she collapsed at school and got injured in the process. Marianna asks her what the doctor said and how she is. Adrianna says that she will have to be admitted for a day or two for monitoring and if she improves by then she can be released to go home.

 

Adrianna adds that she has been crying on and off over the pain. Marianna remains quiet. She then asks Adrianna who will stay with her daughter. Adrianna says that Anna Patricia will be staying with Dianna throughout her stay in the hospital. Adrianna then adds that she will be visiting Dianna a lot as well. Marianna tells herself that she can no longer continue to hurt people who have done so much for her and her daughter. Adrianna says that Dianna loves Anna Patricia very much and looks up to her. Marianna feels even guiltier.

 

Elsewhere in the hospital,

Aranza tells Hector that she doesn't understand what her cousin is up to. He asks her what she means. Aranza asks him if he doesn't find Adrianna trying to reach out to Marianna strange. She adds that Adrianna is trying to start involving her in Dianna's life. Hector says that he does but Adrianna always tells him to be patient and says that she will reveal everything soon enough. Aranza says that she doesn't like it, at all because by exchanging Dianna, Marianna proved that she doesn't love her daughter. Hector knows that particular part hits close to home because of what her own mother did.

 

He moves and hugs her. Hector then tells Aranza that Adrianna knows what she is doing. Just then Alejandro comes and Hector glares at him. He tells Alejandro that he has nothing to do there. Alejandro says that he has every reason to be there because his daughter is sick. Aranza rolls her eyes. Hector says that he doesn't deserve to have any contact with her, after what he did. Alejandro ignores them. He says that Dianna is his daughter, and he will take her back. Hector says that he has never loved her and they will do everything they can to keep her. Alejandro says to himself that soon enough Hector and his cousin will be uncovered, and they will lose everything.

 

Back at Gabriel's room,

He smiles and looks at Gina. He says that as his memory has been improving, he has been remembering things from when she and her brother were children. Gina tells her father that she has no idea what he means. Gabriel says that he remembers how jealous of her brother she was. Gina sighs and denies ever being jealous of her brother and insists that it was he who was jealous of her. Gabriel insists that this isn't the time to compete with her brother over who is more capable or more responsible, but time to work together to overcome one of their biggest challenges.

 

Gina asks her father what he thinks they should do. Gabriel says that they should keep his existence a secret and then one day they should reveal him. He adds that Helena and Carlos will almost have a heart attack. Gina smiles. She says that he sounds like Aranza because that is something Aranza would think of. Gabriel tells her that speaking of her sister, will they tell her the truth, once everything is out or will she know with everyone else? Gina says considering the bomb that is about to explode once Horacio and his friends talk, it is only fair that Aranza, Antonio, and Adrianna know about him before everyone else. Gabriel agrees that it is only fair.

 

The day passes and on Wednesday,

The private investigator gets back to the city, in the afternoon. Alejandro asks if they can meet the next day in the morning. The investigator says that it will be fine, and a meeting is arranged. After he finishes the call, Alejandro says to himself that finally, he will unmask Hector and Gina for the frauds that they are. He then smiles devilishly.

 

Later in the evening,

Martin is with Dianna in the playground of the children's wing. He is playing with her. Just then Adrianna comes pushing Marianna in the wheelchair. Marianna watches Dianna play with Martin and she smiles. She tells herself that he would have made a good father. Martin then sees Adrianna and Marianna as they approach. Dianna also sees them. She stands by Martin's side but continues looking at Marianna and Adrianna. When they reach, Martin tells Dianna to go and greet Marianna and Adrianna.

 

Dianna walks quietly, and hugs Adrianna, and greets her. Adrianna then tells Dianna to greet Marianna. Dianna looks at Marianna for a few seconds then greets her. Marianna calls her my daughter (to herself) and says that she has made a lot of mistakes in her life but her daughter, isn't one of them. She adds that Dianna is her greatest gift. Dianna then asks her who she is. Marianna keeps quiet, how does she answer that? She tells herself that after everything she did she doesn't deserve to be called a mother.

 

Adrianna tells Dianna that (indicates towards Marianna) is her mother. Martin, Marianna, and Dianna are both shocked. Dianna looks at Marianna, who says it feels like a younger version of herself is looking at her. Dianna then hugs her. Adrianna says to herself that she hopes that Marianna changes, if not for herself for her daughter. Martin says to himself that he hopes that Marianna takes the chance Adrianna is giving her to reconnect with her daughter and be a better person.

 

The rest of the day passes uneventfully and soon, it is Thursday,

Alejandro, Isabella, and Horacio arrive early for their meeting with the investigator. The investigator says that he has a detailed report of the investigation, that he will give them in a short while. He adds that after weeks of investigation he believes that Hector and Gina are none other than the Montes De Alba twins. The room was so silent one could hear a pin drop.

 

Isabella says to herself that she knew that Hector and Gina were keeping something big, but she had no idea that it was this important. Alejandro asks him what was next. The investigator says that, as he mentioned earlier, the final piece of evidence and the most conclusive one would be a DNA test. He then hands each of the three of them a copy of the report.
