EPISODE 106

 

The following Tuesday,

At Montes De Alba Inc.,

Martin is walking along the company's hallways. He remembers Hector requesting him to talk to Marianna and convince her to help them. He doesn't want to do it. He then remembers the times he had kissed Marianna. He says to himself that being around her isn't a good idea. He adds that he doesn't need to complicate his life and fight with his cousin over Marianna. He sighs and continues walking.

Elsewhere, Claudia goes to the police station. She had thought about it for some days and had finally decided to go and give her statement. She goes to the reception and asks to speak to the officer in charge of the investigation on that particular case. She says she has some information on the case. She is then directed to the appropriate place.

Meanwhile,

Gina, who is also at work, calls Anna Patricia. She is in the garden. Nevertheless, she is careful and looks around to make sure no one is listening. Anna Patricia is worried when she hears Gina's tone. Gina tells her aunt that, her father remembers quite a lot. Anna Patricia asks Gina if she is somewhere she can talk freely.

Gina says that the subject is too sensitive to talk about on the phone. She adds that they both need to go and speak to the doctor. She adds that she just wanted to let her know what's happening. Anna Patricia tells Gina that she needs to speak to her brother because anything concerning taking care of their father is a joint decision. Gina agrees to speak to her brother first.

Shortly after, at the police station,

Claudia has just given her statement. As she signs the documents, she says to herself that Antonio will be angry at her when he discovers the part she played in ruining his life, but she has to help bring Isabella to book for her crimes before she continues hurting Antonio further.

Shortly after at the hospital,

Clara and Ramon are visiting Hector when the doctor comes in to check up on him. Hector asks the doctor how he is. The doctor tells Hector that he is healing very well and that if things continue as they are, he will be released in the coming days to continue his recovery at home. Hector is happy. He wants nothing more than to be with Adrianna and their daughter.

Elsewhere, at the mental hospital,

John is reading some newspapers that he had borrowed. He looks at a picture of Helena and Carlos attending a past society event. He says that if they have hurt his children he will make them pay. He then asks himself just what happened to Hernan and Gabriela. He asks himself if his children were dead.

Elsewhere, Gina is with Aranza in the garden. She asks Aranza if she can stay with the kids because she is going with her aunt to meet John's doctor. Aranza is worried about John and asks Gina if he is okay. Gina says that there is nothing to worry about. Aranza folds her hands, and gives Gina an I don't believe you look.

Gina smiles at her sister. She says that John is starting to remember names, and the doctor just wants to discuss that with her and her aunt. Aranza is happy and says that it is good that John is starting to remember things, and now he can begin to have a normal life. Gina says to herself that normal is relative and soon enough the truth will be out in the open, and things will become complicated.

Meanwhile, John calls Anna Patricia. She hesitates when she sees it is him, then picks up. He asks her what the doctor wants to speak to her and Gina about. Anna Patricia tells him that it is nothing to worry about. She adds that they are going to discuss his progress and the memories that have been flooding back. John remains momentarily quiet. He then asks himself if they all know who he is or if the doctor wants to tell them that he is Gabriel Montes De Alba.

Sometime later at Hector's hospital room,

Gina knocks and enters. On seeing his sister, Hector (while calling her little sis), smiles and asks her if she misses him. Gina rolls her eyes at her brother, but comes and hugs him anyway. He then looks at her. He worriedly asks her what's wrong. Gina says it’s nothing to worry about. Hector looks at her and says that she left work early to see him so that means that something is going on.

He adds that she is his twin sister, and he can read her very well. Gina says that their father has been remembering things, and can even remember their real names. She adds that Aranza has also told him her whole story. She adds that it means that their father already knows who he is and so does Dr. Alves. Hector is shocked.

Elsewhere,

Antonio and Adrianna are at the cafeteria during lunch. Adrianna asks Antonio if he is thinking about Gina's insistence on leaving work early to go and visit Hector. Antonio smiles and says he thinks something else is going on but Gina, as usual, won't tell him anything. Adrianna says that maybe since John is remembering names, the doctor has to talk to them so that they can begin deciding on the way forward.

Antonio tells Adrianna that she may be right, but he doesn't understand what Hector has to do with that. Adrianna says that they are all jointly responsible for John, so Gina has to discuss with Hector things to do with John and update him. Antonio agrees that makes sense. Adrianna says that she knows that his biggest fear is the mysteries and secrets Gina keeps might hang over the relationship he and Gina are rebuilding just as it did earlier. Antonio admits that she is spot on. Adrianna holds his hand.

Back at the hospital,

Hector can't believe it. The moment he and his sister had been praying for such a long time had finally reached. He asks her if Aranza knows anything. Gina says that their father doesn't want to tell Aranza anything yet until things are sorted out. Hector asks Gina what their father thinks happened to them since he doesn't know that they are alive. Gina says that like everyone else, he thinks that they are dead. Hector's face goes pale, as a realization hits him.

Gina asks her brother if he feels fine, or if she should call the doctor. Hector says that he is fine. He adds that he was thinking about a scary possibility. Gina asks him what he means. Hector says that based on the timeline the doctors gave them, their father went crazy around the same time, they disappeared. Gina says that she hadn't thought about it but hearing it now it makes sense. Hector continues and says that their father arrived at the mental hospital, with amnesia, and was okay until nearly two years later when they disappeared.

Hector says that he thinks that some part of their father's subconscious still remembered them. He adds that due to the sensitive state, he was in due to the injuries, something snapped. Hector goes on and says that their father began recovering his sanity when he saw them, again because something, maybe shared memories and blood called out to him.

Meanwhile,

Antonio (who is still having lunch with Adrianna) receives a phone call. It is his grandmother. He picks it up and she says that she would like to talk to him. Antonio is worried and asks his grandmother if she is fine. She says that she is. She adds that she would like to talk to him alone the next day if it is possible. Antonio again asks his grandmother if she is fine, and she insists that she is.

Back at Hector's hospital room,

Gina tells her brother that what he says does make sense, then asks him what that means for them then. Hector says that their father like everyone else doesn't know they are alive, and if he once went mad it could happen again. Gina is horrified at the idea.

Hector holds his sisters' hand (and while calling her sis) tells her to promise him that if their father's health was at risk, she should reveal the truth. He adds that due to his injuries, he will be in recovery and she will have to deal with it. Gina tells Hector that she is scared of the idea. She adds that he has always taken charge. Hector (calling her sis) says that he has faith in her. She smiles at him.

At the end of the day,

Martin goes to Marianna's house. He wants to convince her to testify and get a plea bargain. She is, of course, shocked to see him. He is just as handsome as ever. She, however, downplays that and asks him what he is doing there. He says that he wants to talk to her. Marianna skeptically looks at him and says that they have nothing to say to each other. She adds that he has to leave. Martin says that he will only leave after they talk. Marianna tells him to get to the point. Martin says that he came to ask her to help them in the case.

Marianna rolls her eyes. She says that she isn't a killer and neither are her friends. She adds that she knows that they want to use the case about the children to link her and her friends to Emma's murder. Martin says that she can still avoid the serious trouble her friends are going to be in, as the investigation progresses and evidence is unearthed. Marianna glares at him. She says that he came because he thought that she was the weakest link among her friends.

Elsewhere at the mental hospital,

The doctor has just finished talking with Anna Patricia and Gina updating them on John's progress. They are both shocked. They had no idea, he knew that much. Anna Patricia asks the doctor who else knows. He says that it's only them and John. He adds that because of the drama and intrigue surrounding the Montes De Alba family and the accident as well as to protect Aranza, he made John realize that he has to be quiet about it. Gina asks the doctor what happens next. Dr. Alves, says that they will at some point have to do a DNA test with Aranza to finally prove whether or not John is Gabriel Montes De Alba.

He also adds that John might regress once the reality of the twins being dead hits home. Gina asks the doctor what that means. Dr. Alves explains and says that he might lose his mind again, as the reality of the tragedy hits home. The doctor adds that it will be hard to tell when, if and by how much that will happen because of several factors, like how much he has improved and discovering, he has a daughter (Aranza). Gina remembers what Hector said. She says to herself that she will not let her father get sick again, not after the miracle of finding him.

Meanwhile, at Antonio and Gina's house,

Aranza is there and is helping Antonio with Ricardo and Hannibal. She is feeding them both. Antonio looks at Aranza with the children. He says to himself that watching Aranza with the children, feels like watching a slightly younger version of Gina. He adds that the two of them are so much alike.

Back at Marianna's house,

Martin sighs. He says to himself that Marianna is stubborn. Out loud he says that he understands her need to protect her friends and asks her if she will go down with them. Marianna glares at him and insists that she isn't a killer, and neither are her friends. Martin asks her if she is sure. Marianna remains silent.

Martin folds his hands and again asks her how sure she is. He says that Isabella and Alejandro are the masterminds of everything they have done, and it takes a crazy mind capable of doing anything to come up with that. Marianna tries to push Martin out, but he takes hold of her hands. She tells him to leave her alone.

Back at the mental hospital,

Gina and Anna Patricia, are with her father in the hospital garden. He asks them what the doctor told them. Gina tells him not to worry. She says that the doctor was just updating them and telling them how well he is doing. John (Gabriel), looks unimpressed. Anna Patricia, asks him what's wrong. He says that as much as he is happy that he has recovered, his happiness will never be complete because of what happened to the twins.

He adds that he will always have to live with the uncertainty of not knowing what happened to them and having closure. Gina sighs inwardly. She sighs and turns as a loose tear falls. Her father moves towards her and asks her if she is fine. Gina tells him not to mind her because she is fine. He says that won't happen because she and her cousin are like the children he never got to know. He then hugs her.

Back at Antonio's house,

Aranza is on the kitchen balcony staring out. Antonio comes into the kitchen and finds her like that. He momentarily stares at her and then he has a flashback of Gina, staring both out of the same balcony and their room's balcony. Antonio then snaps out of it and asks Aranza if she is fine. Aranza, says she is. Antonio says that looking at her staring out through the balcony, reminded him of Gina because she also did that when she was thinking about something from her childhood. At the mention of that Aranza grows pale, and then starts to walk off.

Antonio, however, moves faster and stands in front of her. He asks her what's wrong. Aranza says that she is fine. Antonio says that she was staring out of the balcony, and she turned pale when he mentioned Gina's childhood. Aranza shrugs and says that she has to go back to watch the children. Antonio says that they are fine, and they are quietly watching cartoons. Aranza says she will stay with them. Antonio looks at Aranza and can sense that she is hiding something. He folds his hands and asks her what she is hiding. Aranza denies hiding anything.

To herself, Aranza says that she will keep out of what isn't her business. She adds that something painful must have happened in Gina's childhood for her to not want to talk about it. Antonio asks her if she is afraid she will be in trouble or get someone in trouble. Aranza says that she isn't and that she is a good girl. Antonio adds that he knows her too well and can tell when she is lying. Aranza sulks at him and says that he is stubborn.

He smiles and says that he learnt from the best.

Aranza glares at him and says that she isn't nosy and doesn't want to create trouble. Antonio says that she has nothing to fear because he will always be on her side. He then hugs her. Aranza moves away from him and says that she will tell him only because she trusts him and because she doesn't like keeping something that big to herself. Antonio says that they should go back to the sitting room. Aranza agrees.
