EPISODE 58

 

Aranza and Aurelio, are at a park, sitting on a bench. She watches him. He is quiet, no doubt thinking about the secret they have just uncovered. She places her hands around his. He smiles at her weakly. He says he is confused and doesn't know what to make of all of it. He adds that he can already guess what Claudia and Carlos' reaction will be.

Aranza says that he is surrounded by people who love him, and he can be sure that Antonio will accept him with open arms. She then remembers the night Clara told her she was raped. Aranza wonders if it was Juan Patricio who raped her. Aurelio waves at Aranza to get back her attention. He asks her if she is okay. Aranza says she is. Aurelio softly runs a finger down her face and leans in and kisses her and she kisses him back.

Back at Clara and Ramon's house, Clara tells Martin that most of what Juan Patricio said was true. She admits that she was a social worker, and she often went to assist in the care of Juan Patricio's grandfather, Miguel. Clara adds that he often made passes at her, which she rebuffed. One day, he did nothing and she was happy, he had finally given up and stopped. Clara adds that Juan Patricio was nice to her that day. She continues and says that he offered her a glass of juice. Unknown to her, he had drugged it. When she woke up, they were both naked in one of their barns. She cried and told him to leave her alone but he only continued and raped her severally. He then made crude remarks and threatened her and her family.

Clara then looks at her husband and says that he was her childhood friend. She adds that he took her to a hospital in a different area because they feared the Diaz's and their influence. Clara adds that they lied that she couldn't identify her attacker, because of fear. Clara adds that when they returned home and told her family, they were more concerned with how people would view them than seeking further help and rehabilitation for her. She adds that she was made to feel like she was the culprit and that it was her fault she was raped. Clara adds that Juan Patricio would still harass her, even after she stopped working there, and so she decided to flee and his grandfather said he would go with her anywhere despite her protests.

Clara adds that shortly after, she discovered she was pregnant, and his grandfather said he will marry her and stay by her side through everything, even though she feared she would be a burden to him. Clara says that she was afraid of Juan Patricio taking her child away and raising him to be evil. She continues and adds that his grandfather suggested that they move soon after, to keep both her and the child safe and away from Juan Patricio. Clara continues and says that they were helped to flee by some of their friends. Martin is shocked at what his grandmother has just revealed. He says to himself, that Juan Patricio, is a beast. He goes and hugs her. Clara says she would have preferred to keep her secret and take it to the grave, but with Juan Patricio having revealed it, there was no point, in keeping anything secret.

Later, Gina and Antonio, are at his, house. She looks a little worried and said little in the car. Antonio asks her if she is okay. Gina says she is. She says that she is just worried about Armando, Aurelio, and Clara, because of what they found out. Antonio says he understands how she feels. He says he fears his father and grandmother's reaction, to Clara, Armando, and Aurelio. He adds that his grandmother especially can be very dark-hearted and spiteful.

Gina asks him how he feels about this whole issue. Antonio says he is happy he has a cousin. He says that, as a child, he did feel lonely having no siblings or cousins, and he envied the relationship Adrianna and Aranza had. He adds that they have always been good to him, but he did feel left out when they would do girly things and would have loved a brother or male cousin. Gina comes and hugs him.

Meanwhile, Adrianna and Hector are leaving a department store. They enter her car. She takes deep breaths and closes her eyes. He places a hand over her forehead, worriedly, and asks her if she is okay. Adrianna, says, she is. She adds that it was just a bout of mild nausea. He asks her if she needs anything. She says she is okay but could use some water. Hector turns to the back of the car and takes a paper bag. He pulls out a bottle of water and hands it to her. Adrianna opens it and takes a sip. She then smiles and tells him about the conversation she had with Aranza about baby names earlier.

Hector has a flashback to when Gina and he were eighteen, and his sister told him that she should name her first son with a name starting with H, and he should name his first daughter with a name starting with G, to correspond to the first letter of each other's names. He looked at his sister like she was crazy, and asked her why. Gina shrugged and says because their names start with G and H, she thinks it would be cute. Hector rolls his eyes. He tells her that she is crazy and comes up with the weirdest suggestions. She asks him if he will. Hector shrugs and says, that they are only eighteen, and none of them, is having children anytime soon. Gina tells him not to be so annoying. Hector absentmindedly agrees to the request.

He then comes back to the present. Adrianna asks him what he was thinking about. Hector says when she mentioned baby names, he remembered something Gina told him when they were eighteen. Adrianna asks him what it is. Hector insists he doesn't want to bore her with Gina's crazy childhood pacts. Adrianna says she doesn't mind, and she is very curious. Hector insists that Gina was a drama queen, and came up with all kinds of crazy ideas. He adds that at eighteen she was very much like Aranza. Adrianna tells him that Gina is perfectly delightful. He stares at her like she is crazy but says that he will tell her.

Elsewhere, Gina reluctantly pulls away from Antonio and says he should take her home. Antonio runs his hand through his hair. He says he would like her to stay. Gina is unsure, about it. Antonio holds her hand and tells her that Hector and Aurelio are both adults, and they can take care of themselves, without her being there. Gina says she will call Hector first so that he isn't worried about her.

Back with Hector and Adrianna,

Hector has just told Adrianna about the name pact. She says it is cute. Hector looks at her like she is crazy, and says that she should not mind Gina. Adrianna says the idea, of the name pact, has given her ideas, about baby names that she will begin to think about. Hector pretends to be horrified and, he says that he can imagine all the plain and ugly G names, she is thinking about. Adrianna rolls her eyes and he leans in and kisses her. She kisses him back. Just then a text comes in. He says speaking of the devil and she calls. He says it is Gina, telling him that she won't come home that day. Adrianna looks at his mischievous smile and tells him that she knows he is going to reply with, a witty comment. He looks at her and says she is right.

Elsewhere, At Antonio's house, Gina looks at her brother's text, and rolls her eyes. It's an emoji of a bride, followed by a wedding theme, then a bunch of other funny emojis. Gina says she has already told Hector and he should tell Aurelio. Antonio then leans in and kisses her, and she puts her arms around him and kisses him back.

The next day on Wednesday, John begins moving into his new home. He is happy. The few items he owns are brought in.

Elsewhere at Montes De Alba inc,

Due to the privilege he has being Carlos's son, Antonio can get access to one of the exclusive soundproof conference rooms. During lunchtime, he gets Adrianna, Hector, Aurelio, Aranza, Martin, Emma, and Gina into one, so that Martin can tell them what his grandmother said. Everyone is curious as to what Martin has to say.

Meanwhile, John walks around the compound, absorbing everything. He knows that if he is to ever leave this place and have a normal life, this minimal independence is the first step. He knows he has so much to learn, and readjust to before he can become self-sufficient again.

Meanwhile, everyone is shocked as Martin finishes. They cannot imagine the trauma Clara went through. Antonio says he is very sure his grandfather will deny everything and try to discredit Clara, on top of possibly going through with his threats to harm everyone. Aranza asks him what they do next. Aurelio, they should wait until his grandmother tells his father the truth and Juan Patricio tells Carlos and Claudia, then they will go from there.

A little while later, Clara, calls Armando. He can tell his mother is, a little shaken, and asks her about it. She says she is okay but needs to talk to him and his sister as soon as possible. Armando asks his mother if she is sure she is okay. Again Clara insists she is fine. She tells him to talk to his sister and agree on a date.

On Thursday, John begins working. He is given a few tasks to assist with around the hospital.

Elsewhere, Juan Patricio calls Carlos and says he would like to have a family meeting, as soon as possible. Carlos is, of course, curious, and agrees. Juan Patricio, tells him to agree with Antonio on a date.

Elsewhere, Gina is at her desk. Since Martin told them what Clara told him about being raped, one question had been on her mind. Gina asks herself if Clara knew, whose grandson Antonio was when they met. Gina says she will wait a while then ask Clara about it.

Meanwhile at the IT offices, Antonio's phone rings. It is his father. Aurelio is with him. Antonio says he has to pick his father's call then he will be back. He steps out.

Meanwhile, Juan Patricio wonders what Clara has told her family especially Aurelio. He says that she had better not turn his son and grandson against him.

Back to Carlos and Antonio,

Carlos expects Antonio to come up with excuses to avoid the family meeting, and spend time with his girlfriend, but is surprised when he immediately agrees to go. Antonio asks when it is. Carlos says the next day and Antonio says that will be fine.

During lunchtime, Marianna and Isabella are in the garden. Marianna, asks Isabella if she finds it weird that Antonio took the rest of the gang to one of the executive soundproof conference rooms, and that they all left together for lunch. Isabella, says probably, but as long as whatever is being discussed does not affect them or their plans they shouldn't worry about it.

Elsewhere, Antonio tells everyone about the family meeting the next day. Martin says that his grandparents are talking to his mother and his uncle later that day. Aurelio sighs and says the drama is about to start. Gina, who is next to him, holds his hand.

A little while later, John is assisting with unpacking supplies and taking them to the store. He is happy to be using, his energies and doing something useful.
