EPISODE 57

 

Sometime later, Antonio, Gina, Hector, Adrianna, Martin, Emma, Aurelio, and Aranza are all at Antonio's house. Gina says that they are all worried, especially since the two of them (Antonio and Aurelio), have been acting weird, by refusing to say anything in the office and insisting they all come there. Aurelio looks at Antonio, who reassuringly smiles at him, and then he takes a deep breath and begins.

Back at Isabella's house, they are discussing the plans. Marianna, asks how the plan will be carried out since they cannot control when the babies will come, as that is up to God. Isabella shrugs and says, that of the ideas is to work out how to get Adrianna and Gina to take labor-inducing drugs, to ensure the children are born around the same time.

This time even Alejandro is shocked at the crazy idea Isabella has in mind. Isabella meanwhile shrugs and says they will do their research because the babies must be healthy. She says that the children are the key to the success of their plans. Horacio adds that if they work together, they can succeed. He then asks everybody if they are in, and everyone says they are.

A little while later, there is complete silence, when Aurelio is finished talking. Everyone is shocked. Armando is Clara and Juan Patricio's son. Martin says they should inform his grandmother because she is at the center of all of this. He says he finds it weird, that his grandparents would just elope, with his grandmother knowing she was pregnant with another man's child. He then adds that she should be the one to tell his uncle the truth. Everyone agrees and Gina asks Martin to tell their grandparents before anything else is decided, and he agrees.

The next day, on Tuesday, Antonio is in his room at the Montes De Alba mansion getting ready for work, when he receives a call. It is his grandfather. Antonio is surprised but picks it up. Juan Patricio is usually formal and gets to the point quite quickly, and this occasion was no different.

He asks Antonio if he has spoken to Aurelio. Antonio has an idea, this was what his grandfather was calling about. He pauses and says he spoke to Aurelio. Juan Patricio asks Antonio not to tell his grandmother or father yet. He (Juan Patricio) adds that he will tell them himself, but first, he wants to give Aurelio a few days to adjust, and then he will tell them. Antonio agrees.

Elsewhere, Hector, Gina, and Aurelio are also up and getting ready for the day. Gina asks Aurelio how he feels about everything they have just learnt. Aurelio says he is happy because Antonio is his cousin, and he(Aurelio) looks up to Antonio, career-wise. He then adds that he has a feeling Antonio's grandmother and father won't be as happy to know the truth. He also adds that he doesn't really know what to make of Juan Patricio. Gina hugs him, and Hector reminds him to be strong and not to let anyone mistreat him or make him feel bad about himself. He also adds that they should, avoid forming an opinion until they find out all the facts.

Sometime later, Clara receives a call from a number that is not on her contact list. She is at home alone. Ramon has stepped out temporarily. She ignores it, but when the caller calls again, she picks it up. Clara listens silently after greeting the person. Juan Patricio, asks her if she remembers him. Clara, asks who is talking. He asks her if she can still remember, the good time they had before she ran away with that 'hick'. Clara sighs audibly, then goes silent, for nearly one minute.

Juan Patricio keeps quiet as well. Clara then asks, him what, he wants.

Juan Patricio says he wants to get to know his son and grandson. Clara's face nearly goes white and she gasps. Juan Patricio chuckles, and asks her why she is so surprised, he knows. He says he saw Anna Patricia and was surprised at the resemblance between the two of them. He adds that he had their family investigated by a private investigator and then did a DNA test on Aurelio to confirm his suspicions.

Clara pauses for a little while then tells Juan Patricio to leave her, her son, and her grandson alone. Juan Patricio, says that would be impossible, because the two are his family, as well. Clara says it takes more than genetics to be a father, and that he is nothing more than a sperm donor. Juan Patricio, says that her words will not prevent him, from getting to know his son and grandson. He adds that they can either do things the nice way or the hard way. Juan Patricio continues and says that he already talked to Aurelio and told him the truth.

Clara sneers and sarcastically asks if he mentioned that he drugged and raped her. Juan Patricio laughs and says that she probably enjoyed it and that she shouldn't complain because she got a son out of it. He adds that it will be his word against hers, and no one will believe her. He adds that she brought it against herself, by rejecting his advances. Clara reminds him that she does not live in the hole he lives in, and she has a right to choose suitors for herself.

Juan Patricio sneers and says that he always gets what he wants. He adds that once something belongs to him, it will always be his. Clara says she is neither a thing neither does she belong to a beast like him. Juan Patricio says that as much as he enjoys listening to her voice and having this chit-chat, he has to go. He adds that she should be careful about what lies she spreads about him. He adds that while he would never harm his own flesh and blood, he does not have the same limits, when it comes to Ramon, Anna Patricia, Martin, Hector, and Gina. Juan Patricio then hangs up.

Later on, the lift opens and Martin enters. He is irritated when he sees Marianna. She smiles at him. He ignores her. The lift goes to the ground floor. When it opens, Emma is among a small group of people waiting to enter. She looks at both of them and Marianna smirks. Martin fiddles with his hands uncomfortably.

Elsewhere, Anna Patricia, who was on leave, and had been running errands comes and finds her mother crying in the sitting room. She then runs towards her and hugs her. She asks her if she is okay. Clara waves her daughter away and says she is okay. Anna Patricia ignores her mother and asks her if they should call a doctor. Clara says that will be unnecessary. Anna Patricia asks her why she was crying. Clara remains silent. How does she even begin?

Elsewhere,

Adrianna is sitting in the garden. She was feeling a bit nauseous and needed some fresh air. She holds her belly and says (to herself) my precious little girl. She is blissfully happy until she senses that someone has come and sat near her. She turns and is irritated to see Alejandro. He greets her but she ignores him. Adrianna wakes up to leave. She knows how crazy he is, and wants to avoid him in case he pulls a stunt. Alejandro, however, has other ideas and holds her. She jerks away from him and tells him to leave her alone. She adds that she never wants to have anything to do with him again.

Adrianna tries to move past him, but he blocks her path. She begins to get angry. She does not want to engage with him any second longer. Just then Hector comes in and glares at Alejandro. Adrianna hopes that they won't get into a fight. It would be so embarrassing. Hector tells Alejandro to keep off Adrianna. Alejandro moves until he is standing toe to toe with Hector. He calls him a little boy and says that he is not afraid of him and will not take orders from him. Hector answers that he isn't either, and he will not tolerate anyone harassing his pregnant girlfriend.

Hector adds that he doesn't need thugs to defend him, and he will readily smash his (Alejandro's) face. Alejandro also taunts him and tells him to name a place. Adrianna holds Hector's arm. He turns and faces her. She tells him that Alejandro is not worth the drama or getting into trouble. She adds that they should leave. Hector turns and he and Adrianna, leave. Alejandro is left fuming and vows to teach Hector a lesson and get Adrianna.

Sometime later, Martin calls his grandmother. She smiles when she sees it's him. She is surprised that he called her during the day. She can tell something is up by the tone of his voice. Clara remembers Juan Patricio's threats and gets worried. Did he make good with his threats and hurt someone? Did he hurt her grandson? Clara asks Martin if he is okay. He assures her he is. He says he wanted to talk to her about Aurelio. Clara sighs quietly and says there is no problem. She says he can come later on in the day. Martin asks his grandmother if she is okay. He says she sounds nervous and afraid. Clara insists she is fine.

A little while later. Gina is at her desk when she has a flashback. In it, she and Hector were 5, and it was shortly after their fifth birthday. Their father was playing with them in the garden. Gina says to herself how much she misses him.

Elsewhere, Aranza is with Adrianna, at the end of the day, in the garden. She asks Adrianna what name she will give her daughter. Adrianna looks at her little cousin, suspiciously. Aranza rolls her eyes and says that she is not up to anything. She says she is just curious. Adrianna on a light touch, asks Aranza if she thinks she and Hector will give their daughter a nice name. Aranza says that Hector she believes has style, but she is not sure about her (Adrianna). Adrianna holds her cousin's head and rubs and tickles her, as Aranza laughs. Antonio watches them from a window and smiles.

Shortly after, Martin has gone to his grandparents' house. Clara says he should start, and tell them (Clara and Ramon) what he knows.

Meanwhile, Gina, Anna Patricia, and Hector are at the mental institution visiting John. He shows them, his new residence. It is quite spacious. It has a bed, a chair, and a table. There are a few shelves and a sink in a small kitchenette area. There is also another small clothes shelf. There is also a toilet and a bathroom. There are of course sockets. Gina says it will be good for him. He says he will be happier here, and it is good after nearly 20 years in the same room.

Meanwhile, Clara and Ramon sit quietly after Martin is finished. Ramon looks at his wife, as Martin waits for his grandmother to collect and calm herself. Ramon says that if she is not ready, she can do this another day. Clara waves him away and tells Martin she is ready to reveal her darkest secret.
