EPISODE 43

 

Later, Martin is jogging when he runs into Marianna, who is holding a few shopping bags. He smiles, and half sarcastically asks her if she was out buying spell books and things to carry out her spells with. Marianna glares at him and says he is an idiot. She tells him to stop calling her a witch or insinuating that she is one. Martin stares, at her, unperturbed. He sarcastically asks her, how her majesty would like to be addressed. Marianna rolls her eyes at him and says that he is an idiot. She walks away, and he smiles.

Elsewhere, Mauricio is at his house, and he has just woken up. He checks his phone for messages and sees one particular one. It is from a friend. The friend, tells him to go online because a scandal is brewing.

Meanwhile, Adrianna hears voices in the sitting room and asks herself, who Hector is talking to. She comes out and is shocked to see her aunt. Helena looks at Adrianna, who has a robe, around her, and has her hair in a mess all over her head. Helena says that it's good she is awake because they have to talk. Adrianna pushes her hair behind her head and sits near Hector. Helena says that she knows the truth about Marianna's pregnancy. 

She then asks Adrianna, why she is still with Hector. Helena adds that she should step out of the way, and let Hector do the right thing. Adrianna rolls her eyes and says that this is the 21st century and that Hector can and should take care of the baby, but he doesn't have to marry Marianna.

Helena says that she is an Alvarez, and Alvarez women deserve better than to be someone's ( looks Hector over and over) leftovers. Hector stands up. Helena is fast crossing the line. He says that he is trying to control his temper because she is his boss, but he will not tolerate anyone disrespecting him in his house or ever disrespecting Adrianna. Helena watches him and has a flashback of Gabriel. He was calm, and she rarely saw him lose his temper, but she remembers one incident in the park before they got married when they ran into some scum harassing a young street girl. Gabriel went, introduced himself, and threatened to have the man arrested if he did not leave the child alone.

Back at Mauricio's,

He is in utter shock, all his dirty laundry has been leaked online. Everything bad he has ever done or said both online and through text is out. He watches a leaked sex tape, still unable to believe what happened. Who could have done this? He says maybe it could be Aurelio. He then thinks about it and says he doesn't think Aurelio can hack his accounts or has enough money to hire someone to do it. He then says he can only think of one other person- Antonio. Could it be him? Mauricio says that Antonio is exposed and skilled enough to hack his accounts. He then nods his head and says that Antonio did it as payback for Aranza. Mauricio says that Antonio will pay.

Back at Hector's house,

Helena snaps back to the present and says that love is fleeting and that they should both be practical. Hector repeats again that he loves Adrianna, and that he will not give her up, but he will not neglect the baby either. Helena smirks, and sarcastically, asks him, if he intends to have his cake and eat it. Adrianna watches Hector and can tell he is fuming. She stands up and walks over to her aunt. Adrianna tells Helena that if she has no more bile to spew, she should leave. Helena looks over at Hector and then asks Adrianna what she sees in him. Helena adds that she does not approve of their relationship and asks Adrianna what kind of a future she will have with Hector because she has grown up with luxuries and he hasn't. Adrianna says that they love each other, and Hector is a good person, who treats her well.

Adrianna then adds that she does not expect a bitter, person like her (Helena) to know what love is because, she is incapable of loving, even herself or Aranza. Adrianna adds that as far as the wealth is concerned, it's Aranza's, not hers. Adrianna looks into Helena's eyes and says that it is the twins who should be there, as rightful heirs, but she (Helena ) and Carlos killed them. Helena stands up and says that she is just as stupid as her father. Adrianna slaps her and tells her to never mention her father again. She tells Helena that she will never be half the person her (Adrianna's) father was. Hector who has been quiet, so far, tells her to leave before he kicks her out. Helena says he will never get that pleasure because she is leaving. Once Helena leaves, Adrianna starts crying, and Hector hugs her. She then lays her head on his shoulder.

Meanwhile, Antonio is awake, and is in the kitchen, drinking a glass of water, when he hears a knock on the door. He goes and opens it. It is his grandmother. He is shocked she is here so early on a Sunday but lets her in. She looks around and sits down. She asks where Gina is. Antonio says that she is still in the room. He asks her if she wants anything and she says juice, will be fine. He pours her a glass, from a jug, that's on the table, and she sips then continues her questioning. She asks him, how things went with Isabella. Antonio says that he tried to reason with Isabella, and he told her that he will provide love and care for the child but she refused to listen and insisted that he has to marry her because she will frustrate him and Gina.

Claudia says that maybe, he should, try and understand her more. She adds that the child needs to grow up with two parents in a happy home. Antonio looks at her and asks her if she is crazy. He says he does not love Isabella, and he does not want his child growing up in a dysfunctional house, for the sake of keeping up appearances. He adds that growing up with two dysfunctional people or in a dysfunctional marriage, is even worse, for the child's emotional and mental well-being than growing up with two mature people who amicably co-parent. Claudia says that he should stop being so sentimental and be practical about things. Unknown to both Antonio and Claudia, Gina is listening. Antonio says he loves Gina, and he will not give her up.

Later, that day, Marianna, Isabella, Horacio, and Alejandro meet at Isabella's house to catch up. Alejandro is not moved by the slow pace of things, he wants Hector and Adrianna to break up as soon as possible. Horacio asks what the use of the children is if Antonio is still with Gina, and Hector is still with Adrianna. Isabella, tells them to stop being so paranoid and says that things are just beginning to heat up. She adds that the plan isn't a short-term plan, but a long-term one. She adds that by the time they are done, there is no way Gina and Antonio or Hector and Adrianna will be able to be together.

Sometime later, at the mental hospital, John is walking in the garden. He loves the garden, it is beautiful, and the clean fresh air, makes him feel refreshed. John looks at a butterfly on a beautiful colored flower, and his mind goes back in time to the same room, it went to, in his earlier vision, with the one-year-old twins and a young man playing with them. The man hands the girl a toy butterfly and she smiles her toothless grin at him. He then hands an action figure to the boy, who also smiles. His mind then returns to the present and he says butterfly.

Meanwhile, Mauricio's scandal is spreading.

Adrianna, Aranza, Emma, and Gina are at Antonio's house. Aranza says she has a feeling Antonio and Hector, have something to do with Mauricio's scandal. Everyone agrees. Aranza says that she is afraid for their safety. She adds that Mauricio's father is crazy and powerful. Emma says that she understands her concerns but Antonio and Hector, had to do something, and while they used unorthodox means they had to put Mauricio in his place. Aranza agrees, then says that the Basanez, are very vindictive, and she wouldn't want to put Hector or Antonio in any danger. Adrianna tells Aranza to relax because the boys can deal with this.

The next day on Monday,

Flavio, Mauricio's father, is at Montes De Alba Inc, to see Carlos and Helena. They meet in Helena's office. Flavio is angry because of the scandal with Mauricio. He says that the issue needs to be dealt with. He says that there is only one person capable of hacking Mauricio's account. Helena says that Aurelio maybe Aranza's boyfriend but he wouldn't be able to do something so sophisticated. Flavio looks at both of them and says that no one believes Aurelio would be able to do something like that. He says that the only person capable of doing something like that is Antonio. Flavio tells Carlos to control his son.

Meanwhile, at the university,

Aranza and her friend are sitting on a bench under a tree, talking when Mauricio comes up to them. Aranza tries her best to ignore him, but he won't have any of it. Mauricio looks at Aranza with pure hate. He asks her if she thinks she has won. She says that she didn't know there was a competition. Mauricio smirks; and says that they both know what he is talking about. He adds that they both know Antonio did what he did. 

Aranza looks nonchalant and asks him why it should be her concern, whether Antonio did it or it was somebody else. Mauricio tells her to stop playing a fool. He insists that Antonio did it and therefore has to pay. Aranza tells him that not everyone will bow down and indulge his fat ego. Aranza's friend tells her that they shouldn't waste their time anymore, and they should leave. Mauricio calls her a peasant and tells her to know her place and to keep quiet.

Elsewhere,

Gina is with Antonio and Hector, at the office garden. Hector asks her what she wanted to talk to both of them about. Gina looks from Hector to Antonio seriously. She says she wanted to talk about Mauricio. Antonio asks what about that scumbag they should talk about. Gina says that she knows them both and knows it was them who did it. Hector looks around then says he had to pay, and while what they did wasn't exactly right, sometimes, one has to use unorthodox means to deal with certain situations. 

Gina says that she understands that they had to defend Aranza's honor, but she loves them both and she doesn't want either of them to get into any trouble. Hector says he understands her but tells her to stop being dramatic. Gina rolls her eyes and throws a Biro at him. Antonio says to himself that they remind him so much of the twins.

Meanwhile, back at the university,

Aranza and her friend have woken up and are trying to leave so that they can avoid Mauricio, but he is still keen on bugging them. Just then Aurelio arrives. He tells Aranza and her friend to follow him, and Mauricio tries to stop them. Aurelio taunts Mauricio and tells him that if he (Aurelio) was in his (Mauricio's) place he wouldn't be seen in public. Mauricio cowers in shame, and Aurelio, Aranza, and Aranza's friend leave.

Back at Montes De Alba Inc,

Antonio is in his father's office, where his father has called him to discuss the issue with Mauricio. Carlos asks him why he did it. Antonio folds his hands and glares at him. He says that someone had to teach that pampered bastard a lesson. Carlos tells him that he is going to cause a scandal with one of their most important business partners because of a minor scandal. 

Antonio says that he won't argue, with him, he then tells him to tell Flavio to contain his animal of a son, or else he (Antonio) will ruin him. Antonio adds that he has much worse information on Mauricio and he will do anything to protect those he loves. Carlos looks at his son, an almost spitting image of himself as a young man, and stands still. He says to himself that Antonio is so similar to his grandfather.

Two weeks later, on a Thursday:

Gina is in the office washroom when she feels dizzy. She holds onto the wall. She feels nauseous, and rushes, to vomit; luckily it was a false alarm. She then splashes water on her face and looks into the mirror. Gina asks herself what is happening to her, then ponders out loud, what if she is sick and coming down with something.

Meanwhile, at the university, Aurelio is going to a friend's hostel room, when he runs into Mauricio. Aurelio wants to avoid trouble by avoiding Mauricio, but Mauricio is looking for trouble and clearly wants to pick a fight with him. Aurelio walks past Mauricio and ignores his taunts.

Meanwhile, Gina has returned to her desk. Emma looks at her and asks her if she is okay. Gina says she is fine. Emma looks at her doubtfully and says that she looks a little pale. Gina says that she is just a little tired, nothing much. Isabella passes by and glares at her. Gina rolls her eyes at her.

Meanwhile, Juan Patricio is at the mall. He sees, Anna Patricia working. She looks so much like...he shakes his head, no, but the resemblance, is so great. It is like her but frozen in time. What has it been, forty-plus years, since he saw her? She was so beautiful. He asks himself, why a random stranger, would resemble her. His aide asks him if he is okay, and he brushes him off and insists he is fine. He says that this is the second time, he has seen her. Juan Patricio says that he has, to get to the bottom of the matter, as soon as possible. He says he will set up a meeting with an investigator, later.
