EPISODE 167

 The next Wednesday,

At The Montes De Alba mansion,

Gabriel strolls into the garden and finds Anna Patricia, enjoying the scenery. He comes and kisses her. He then asks her how the prettiest mother to be is. Anna Patricia says that she is fine. Gabriel sits then says that he had a suggestion. Anna Patricia asks him what it is. Gabriel says that he thinks that her parents should move in so that her mother can take care of her during her pregnancy and until the baby is three or four months old. Anna Patricia looks at Gabriel like he is crazy. He asks her who is better than her mother to take care of her and their child.

Anna Patricia says her mother, used to question how she raised Martin and she will not have her do it again with Ricardo or the baby. She adds that the thought of listening to her mother's endless parenting advice is annoying. Gabriel reminds Anna Patricia that her mother means well and raised her and her brother, and they both turned out well. He then adds that she will help a lot with both Ricardo and the baby. Anna Patricia glares at Gabriel and asks him if he is taking her mother's side. Gabriel says that he isn't taking anyone's side. He adds that he is simply stating what he thinks is best for both Ricardo and their coming child.

At Montes De Alba Inc.,

Martin was at the cafeteria, enjoying some coffee, when Aranza, comes walking by. She asks him if he can sit. He mock salutes and says that her nosiness can sit. Aranza glares at him but sits. Martin asks her if her siblings, have sent her. Aranza says that none of them have. She adds that she is there representing herself. Martin says that he doesn't know what is worse, having her or having her siblings meddle. Aranza says that she doesn't meddle. She adds that she is just curious about the baby that, he and Marianna are having.

Martin asks her if it is about the name. Aranza asks him how he knows. Martin says that his aunt, Gabriela, and Adrianna told him about how she ended up picking the perfect name for each one of them. Aranza says oh, then smiles. Martin admits that he and Marianna haven't talked about name ideas for their child. Aranza says that she is good at coming up with name ideas. She then asks Martin if they know what they are having. Martin says that they will wait until the child is born. Aranza looks at him like he is crazy.

She asks him how he and Marianna intend to prepare for the child if they don't know the gender. Martin says they will have a lot of neutral colours and will avoid overly pink or blue tones. He then adds that he is sure that, with all her nosiness, she has already started choosing names. Aranza frowns at him but says, that she has a couple. Martin asks her what her top ideas are. Aranza says that if the child is a boy, she thinks the name Diego, would be a good idea, and if it is a girl, Victoria or Clara would be nice. Martin thinks about it.

Aranza says that naming the child after Marianna's father or grandmother, would make her grandfather happy, and score him points. Martin says that she has a point. He adds that if the child is a boy and is named Diego, it would have more meaning for Marianna's grandfather, especially because he never got over his son's murder. Martin then tells her not to tell anyone, especially her siblings anything. Aranza says that she won't.

Two days later,

At the Montes De Alba mansion, in the evening.

Aranza is in the kitchen. She pours herself a glass of juice. Anna Patricia comes and greets her. She then asks her if she has a minute. Aranza says that it's okay. Anna Patricia tells Aranza that her father wasn't too keen on choosing baby names and told her, to ask her for her ideas. Aranza is wide-eyed and excited. She excitedly asks if her father asked her to help choose her little sibling's name. Anna Patricia smiles. Aranza's energy is infectious. She says that her father did want her to help choose a name. She then asks Aranza, if she has any ideas.

Aranza tells Anna Patricia that she thinks that if the child is a girl, she should name her Ramona, just as Gabriela was named after their (Gabriela and Aranza)'s father and Adrianna was named after her father (Adrian Alvarez). She then adds that if the child is a boy, she thinks the name Milagro would be a good idea, because the child was a miracle, and to match with their cousin. Anna Patricia says that she loves those names especially, the idea of naming the child Ramona. Aranza agrees that the name Ramona has a nice ring to it. Anna Patricia asks her not to tell anyone, especially her father. Aranza says that she won't.

Four months later,

Martin is pacing around, restlessly. Marianna is in labour. Her whole family, even Thiago was there. He turns to go to the water dispenser and sees his whole family there as well. Martin frowns and moves to his heavily pregnant mother. He calls her mom and reminds her that she should be resting. Clara sighs dramatically and tells Anna Patricia that she also said the same thing.

Anna Patricia shakes her head then faces her son. She tells Martin, that he is still her son and for as long as she is able, she will be there for him. She then adds that she is still watching him. Martin manages a smile. Gabriela says that there was no way she was going to miss the birth of her nephew. Hernan says that the child could be a girl. Gabriela shakes her head and insists that it will be a boy. They start arguing before Gabriel tells both of them to be quiet.

Elsewhere,

At a hotel in the countryside,

A staff member from room service is cleaning when they find a picture. She is shocked and gasps. It is a picture of Horacio, Alejandro, and Isabella. She looks at it for a few minutes. She then turns to leave. She comes face to face with Alejandro and Isabella (who are under disguise). She asks herself if it is them. Isabella tells Alejandro to close the door. After he does so, they both look at the lady and ask her what she is holding.

She clutches onto the photo in fear and does not say anything. Alejandro asks her again what she is holding. She still doesn't say anything. Isabella rolls her eyes and moves forward. She grabs the picture, looks at it, and then shows it to Alejandro. They then look at each other. The lady tries to leave, but Isabella grabs her. She tries to scream but Alejandro covers her mouth.

At the hospital,

People are, milling around, waiting for news on Marianna and her child. Martin is nervous and anxious. What if there is something wrong? He doesn't know if he has the strength to bear history repeating itself. He already lost Emma and their unborn child. Gabriela who is sitting near him puts a hand on him. After what seems like forever, the doctor comes out. Martin is the first to reach him. He asks him how Marianna and his child are. The doctor says that both mother and child are doing well. Martin asks whether the child is a boy or a girl. The doctor says that the child is a boy. Everyone congratulates Martin. He is happy.

Sometime later,

Back at the hotel room where Alejandro and Isabella stayed. Someone knocks on, the door, hearing no response, tries to open the door. The door is however locked. They call out, the alias names Alejandro and Isabella were using, but there is no response. They then call their colleague's name but there is no response either. They tell themselves that it is very strange. She says that maybe the CCTV will show something. She then turns to leave.

Elsewhere in a different city,

A raid is being conducted in the outskirts. The police have finally managed to trace where the owner of the phone (who recorded the conversation where Emma's murder was planned) and his accomplices were hiding. There is a shootout but the two of them are arrested.

Sometime later,

Back at the hotel room,

The door is finally opened, and someone screams when they see their colleague lying down. The other remaining colleague rushes to the person lying on the floor and feels for a pulse. He then turns and says that there is a pulse but it is very weak. The lady who screamed takes a deep breath and removes out her phone. She says that they have to call for help.

Days pass, during which, both Hernan and Adrianna and Gabriela and Antonio celebrate the good news that they are both expecting again. Both can be separately seen holding positive pregnancy tests. Antonio kisses Gabriela's forehead and Hernan kisses Adrianna's forehead.

On a Thursday,

At Martin's house,

Marianna is in her and Martin's room. She picks up Diego from his crib. She gazes lovingly at her son. She says to herself that she is afraid of what will happen in the future but at least he will be safe and loved. She takes a deep breath. With the arrest of the people who killed Emma, a trial is likely to start soon. She asks herself what will happen to her.

At Montes De Alba Inc.,

Martin is with Aurelio and Aranza in the cafeteria. Aranza asks Martin why he wanted to talk to the two of them. Martin tells her that he talked with Marianna and they decided to ask the two of them (Aurelio and Aranza) to be their children's godparents and guardians in case of anything. Aurelio and Aranza are both shocked. Aurelio asked Martin if he is sure he meant to choose Hernan and Adrianna or Gabriela and Antonio instead. Aranza says that the twins are older, more responsible, and have children. Martin says that he and Marianna are sure of their decision. Aurelio asks Martin why he chose them.

Martin says that they believe in them and their ability to do it. He then asks them if they would consider it. Aurelio looks at Aranza. He then says that they will. Aranza goes and hugs Martin and says thank you. He asks her what for. She says that she is honored that he trusts her to be his children's godparents. She says that it's nice that for once, someone has faith in her and doesn't treat her like a little girl. Aurelio agrees with her. He says that it is a nice feeling. Aranza says that Gabriela won't be happy. Martin agrees. He says that Gabriela is very competitive.

Following a tip-off, from members of the public, the police get a lead on the location of Alejandro and Isabella. They, however, come a bit late, and Alejandro and Isabella manage to escape. A car chase begins. Isabella says that she is not going to jail again. Alejandro says that he isn't either and increases the speed.

Meanwhile,

A heavily pregnant Anna Patricia, is in the mansion living room, watching the unfolding drama on television. Gabriel comes into the room and shakes his head. He tells her that she should be relaxing and shouldn't bother with things that will stress her. Anna Patricia says that she is fine. She adds after everything that has happened, she wants to know what happens especially to Isabella, who was the mastermind of everything that she and her friends did.

Sometime later,

Back to the chase,

The chase is still going on. Alejandro and Isabella are approaching a steep corner, with the police hot on their heels. They are being followed both on the ground and in the air. Isabella says that the chase will go on and on. Alejandro says that it can't go on forever and they will have to give up and go to jail at some point. Isabella says that she would rather die than go to jail. Alejandro looks at her. All it takes is one look. No words were needed.

Alejandro swerves and heads directly for the cliff. When they reach it, they hold hands and look at each other for a few seconds. They both look back. The police are hot on their heels and have almost caught up with them. Alejandro then drives the car off the cliff. The car rolls and rolls. When it reaches, the bottom it bursts into flames. Even the police officers chasing them are shocked.

Later, that night,

At Martin's house,

Marianna watches Diego peacefully sleep in his crib. She gently strokes his face and silently says that she loves him. She then leaves the room and goes to the kitchen. She pours herself a glass of juice and goes to the sitting room. She takes a few sips then places the glass on the table. Martin, who had momentarily stepped out, comes back in. He sees Marianna sitting in the dining room. He goes over to her. He asks her if she is fine. Marianna says that she is. Martin knows Marianna too well and knows that something is bothering her. He asks her if she is stressed out because the people who killed Emma were caught. Marianna shrugs and stands up.

She starts to leave but Martin doesn't let her. Marianna doesn't want to look at him. She tells him to leave her alone. Martin holds her face up so that she can face him. They look into each other's eyes. As it happens every time, they are together, there is a spark of electricity between them. Martin leans in and kisses her. Marianna kisses him back then increases the distance between them. She admits that she is scared of what that means. Martin kisses her forehead and tells her that as he has always said, they will get through anything together. Marianna asks him how.

She says that even if Horacio, Alejandro, and Isabella are all dead, as long as they have the actual murderers a trial can still go on. Martin says that she had nothing to do with Emma's murder, and so she shouldn't be afraid of anything. Marianna says while she might not have anything to do with that, she still did a lot of bad things, especially to his cousins and a trial of her earlier crimes can go on. She adds that the only reason she has been free the whole time was that she was a witness and there has never been any evidence linking her to Emma's death. Martin looks at her with a calmness he doesn't have.

He tells her that they all knew that the trial would eventually reach but regardless of how long or short it was, he was going to be by her side. Marianna tells him that he didn't know what he was talking about. She adds that when she thinks about him taking care of two young children by himself for however long, she will most likely be sentenced, it stresses her. Martin tells her not to worry. He adds that as hard as it will be, he will take care of the children. He reminds her that he is not alone and between her family and his, the children will be okay.

A little over two months later, Anna Patricia gives birth to her daughter, Ramona. She is overjoyed. She looks at her daughter, wrapped in a beautiful yellow blanket, and thanks, God. She says to herself that the wait was worth it, to carry, her pretty little angel.

A few days later, the trial of the two sole survivors in Emma's murder case, begins. Separately, Marianna's trial begins as well. Martin goes to as many of the sessions as he can.
