Meanwhile,
Horacio sits quietly at the back. He says that his time for payback is almost there. He watches with disgust as the ladies make their way to the front. He says that they won't be happy. As this happens, elsewhere Juan Patricio, who is of course, still in hiding, is reading some old newspapers, he had managed to get. He is flipping through one of the copies when a particular image catches his attention. It is a picture of Claudia and Santiago, in the park. Juan Patricio looks at it for a while then closes the newspaper.
Back at the church,
The ceremony goes on as planned and Anna Patricia and Gabriel take their vows. After the service, people are milling around and taking pictures. Antonio has just come from taking Hannibal to the washroom and he is walking towards his grandmother, when Hannibal lets go of his hand and calls out to Luisa, Grandma, grandma. She is standing with Armando and is carrying Rosa Milagros. She smiles at him. Hannibal then starts running towards her.
Before Hannibal reaches Luisa and Armando, someone stops infront of him. The stranger looks at the child for a few seconds. Antonio has a bad feeling about the situation. He walks towards his son and the stranger looks up and sees him do that. Before Antonio reaches Hannibal, the stranger pulls out a gun. In the flash of an instant, he grabs Hannibal and points a gun at him. Antonio is filled with fear. There's a scream and commotion. Horacio removes his disguise and looks at Antonio menacingly.
A short while later,
In a different corner of the church, Gabriela is with Adrianna and Gisela. They are happily talking when Marianna comes in. She looks from Adrianna to Gabriela but says nothing. Adrianna asks her what is going on. Gisela goes to her and hugs her, calling her auntie. Marianna looks at Gisela but says nothing. Gabriela looks around and sees Hernan. She tells Gisela to go to her father. Gisela smiles, says okay, and then goes towards Hernan. Adrianna says now that her daughter, is out of earshot, they can talk more freely.
Marianna sighs and then says that Horacio is there. Gabriela clutches her chest. She asks what happened. Marianna holds Gabriela's hands. Gabriela again asks Marianna what happened. Marianna, says that Horacio ran into Antonio and Hannibal, as they were walking around the compound. Gabriela asks her if both Antonio and Hannibal are okay. Marianna says that Horacio has pointed a gun at Hannibal and has threatened to kill him. Gabriela puts a hand under her mouth for a second then starts to cry. Adrianna puts an arm around her to calm her down.
Elsewhere in the church,
Gabriel and Anna Patricia are in a different corner of the church when the commotion starts after Horacio holds Hannibal hostage. Aranza and Thiago come walking towards them. Anna Patricia asks them what is going on. Thiago says that some crazy person is pointing a gun at Hannibal. Gabriel asks Aranza who it is. Aranza says that Horacio sneaked into the church and probably followed Antonio looking for the right time to ambush him.
Thiago says that he wants to go and see what is going on. Anna Patricia says that he will do no such thing and holds his hand. She tells him that she is going with him into the church. She then asks Aranza if she knows where anyone else is. Aranza says that she doesn't. She adds that she can't risk calling anyone, since, they could be near Horacio and that could make things worse for Antonio and Hannibal. Gabriel tells Aranza not to try any stunts.
Back with Antonio and Horacio,
Antonio tells Horacio to keep Hannibal out of it and to settle any issues they have between them. Horacio tells Antonio that he is the one who will decide what happens and how things go. Hannibal starts to cry and Horacio pinches him and tells him to keep quiet. Antonio clenches his hand, he is helpless. Horacio is crazy. Whether he does or doesn't do something, his son's life is still in danger.
Antonio asks Horacio what he wants. Horacio glares at him with pure hatred and says that he wants to make him pay. Antonio with a calmness he doesn't have, tells Horacio that he can do whatever he wants with him but he should leave Hannibal alone. Horacio looks around and says that if anyone moves closer or tries something, the boy (Hannibal) will pay. To put his point across, Horacio shoots into the air.
Back with Gabriela, Adrianna, and Marianna,
Hernan who was with Martin comes where the ladies are. Martin is holding Gisela's hand. He looks at Gabriela and asks her what is wrong. Gabriela wipes away tears and says that Horacio is there and he has Hannibal hostage. She adds that he is using him as a human shield. Hernan asks them what else they know. Marianna says that they don't know much. Hernan asks them if they have called anybody. Adrianna says that they haven't because they could end up putting the other person in more danger.
She adds that for all they know Isabella and Alejandro are also around. Martin asks Marianna where Dianna is. Marianna says that Dianna is with her (Marianna's) aunt and uncle. Marianna remembers something and worry fills her face. She starts to walk off but Martin holds her hand.
He asks her where she is going. Marianna says that she is worried about her grandfather. She says that with his age and health issues, something like this could be bad for him.
Before Martin replies, another gunshot is heard and Gabriela panics. She says that she has to go to her son. Hernan says that Horacio is crazy and she especially, would be in danger. Gabriela says that at the moment, Hannibal is more important. Adrianna tells Marianna that she is pregnant and that despite how hard it is she has to relax. Marianna says that she doesn't know where her grandfather and nephew are and she can't relax. Martin says that they have to minimize damage and keep as many people as they can safe.
Back at the place where Isabella and Horacio are hiding,
They are having a late breakfast as are some other guests. It's an almost full crowd. The TV near the bar counter is on. A programme is going on but it is interrupted by breaking news. The scene then goes to the studio and a news anchor, apologizes for the interruption in normal programming then goes straight to the story of the unfolding situation in Gabriel and Anna Patricia's wedding. Isabella and Alejandro look at each other with fear. How will Horacio's actions affect them? The other patrons also keenly follow the developing story.
Back with Horacio and Antonio,
Antonio asks Horacio what he wants, he asks him to name his price. Horacio snickers then glares at Antonio. He tells him that his price is too high for him to pay. He says that he took everything that ever meant anything to him away. Antonio adds that hurting Hannibal or anyone else is not the solution. Horacio says that nothing matters anymore. He adds that he doesn't care anymore. Hannibal starts to cry again and Horacio pinches him again and yells at him to keep quiet.
Still holding Hannibal tightly, Horacio carefully turns around and spots Armando and Luisa, carrying Rosa Milagros. Horacio shoots a third time in the air. He then says that he will prove that he is not joking with anyone. He then shoots Luisa. Everyone watches the scene with utter horror. Armando moves as quickly as he can to protect both Luisa and Rosa Milagros from further hurt. Horacio warns people from coming nearer or moving away. He adds that he is not afraid to do what he just did again.
Back with Hernan, Martin, and the ladies,
Martin tells Marianna, Adrianna, and Gabriela that they should go inside the church. Gabriela looks from Hernan to Martin and asks them what about them. Hernan says that they will try and look for the others. Adrianna says that's very dangerous. Martin says that they don't know if everyone they love is safe and they can't sit and hope for the best.
Marianna says that them putting themselves in danger isn't going to help the situation. Gabriela says that Antonio and Hannibal have been taken hostage and she just can't sit and not do anything. She adds that she has to find out what is going on.
Meanwhile, there is a heightened state of panic in the church compound, which is very large. As many people as possible, went back into the church and whatever building they could quickly access.
Sometime later, Back with Horacio and Antonio,
Horacio shoots again in the air. After several seconds, screams are heard and some people fall. Horacio says that those were snipers. He adds that if anyone attempts to play hero, things will get worse.
Meanwhile back in the hotel,
Isabella and Alejandro, just like the rest of the other customers are still having breakfast. The conversations are in low tones, as people concentrate on the unfolding situation at the wedding. The update on the screen mentions gunshots and an unknown number of casualties. Isabella whispers to Alejandro and says that she is lost for words that Horacio planned something like that, right under their noses. Alejandro says that the situation is very difficult and may end in a bloodbath. He adds that either way they need to be careful.
Sometime later,
Hearing footsteps, Horacio still clutching tightly to Hannibal and using him as a human shield, turns around. He sees Gabriela. On seeing his mother, Hannibal starts to cry. Gabriela feels like her heart will break into a thousand pieces. A psycho has her son and there is nothing that she can do. Horacio tells Gabriela to move to the other side (near Antonio), which she does. Antonio gently squeezes her hand.
She looks at Luisa and a few of the other injured people and it takes all she has not to burst into tears. How could Horacio be that callous? Gabriela asks him what he wants. Horacio looks at her and says that it has always been her. He says that they could have been happy were it not for those two (points to Antonio and Hannibal). Gabriela doesn't say anything, antagonizing him could make things worse.
Back inside the church,
Aranza is walking around with Thiago when she runs into Aurelio who is seating with his grandparents. He is relieved to see her and that she is safe, but he can't be happy and okay until he knows where everyone else is. Ramon asks Aranza if she knows anything else. Aranza says that she doesn't. She adds that all she knows is the same thing as everyone else and that is what they are reading from the internet.
Shortly after,
Horacio tells Antonio to move aside. He then moves towards Gabriela while still tightly clutching Hannibal. He tells Gabriela to start walking, which she does. He then shoots in the air another time, and just as Gabriela, he, and Hannibal continue walking, they hear more screams. Gabriela is curious and turns to see, who the unfortunate victim is, and screams, when she sees Antonio fall. She automatically starts to turn back towards him, to check up on him, but Horacio threatens to give the signal for more gunshots. Gabriela watches Antonio and her Aunt Luisa on the ground and starts crying. Horacio with no compassion, tells her to turn and continue walking which she does.
From the several injured people to the trauma, it is chaos. What started as a day to celebrate love and family had descended into utter tragedy and chaos.
Several hours later,
Helena and Carlos like everyone else had been following the story as it developed throughout the day. Helena says that she can't say that she is sorry, because those stupid twins and their father got exactly what they deserved. Carlos agrees. He says, he hopes Horacio, stays wherever it is he went with Gabriela and Hannibal.
At the hospital,
The injured are being treated. Everyone is patiently waiting for news. Gabriel and Anna Patricia, who have by now both changed, are in the cafeteria. She says that everything is just one big nightmare. Gabriel sighs. He says that after everything he had been through in the past, he was looking forward to peace and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He adds that the fear of what will happen to his daughter and grandson is getting to him. Anna Patricia, puts her hand over his, and tells him that as hard as it is, he needs to relax, and trust, and believe that things will get better.
Meanwhile,
Like everyone else, Juan Patricio has been following the events at Gabriel and Anna Patricia's wedding. He says that despite everything, Hannibal is his great-grandson and he cannot let anything happen to him. He stands up and goes and gets a notebook. He opens it and begins scrolling.
Meanwhile,
Claudia goes into Antonio's hospital room. She walks slowly towards his bed. She wipes the tears that are threatening to pour from her face. She kisses him on his forehead. She says that she loves him. Antonio begins to move slightly. Claudia softly calls out his name. At first, Antonio doesn't answer. She calls out to him and he says, grandma. She tells him to relax and not to spend too much energy talking unnecessarily. Antonio says that he feels pain and asks his grandmother where he is. Claudia tells him to relax and that everything will be fine.
Antonio tries to stand but the pain is too much and he gives up. He asks his grandmother what is going on. Claudia doesn't want to tell him about what happened to Gabriela and Hannibal yet. She doesn't feel that he is well enough. Antonio tells his grandmother that he would like Gabriela to visit him. Claudia looks around. Antonio looks at his grandmother and asks her what is going on. Claudia tells him that everything is fine. Antonio looks at her doubtfully. He tells her that he isn't a child and she shouldn't overprotect him. He adds that whatever it is, she should tell him.
Elsewhere,
Gabriela and Hannibal, are in a small room. It is bare, with only a bed, chair, table, cupboard, and a small dressing table. It is self-contained with a small bathroom/ washroom area. Gabriela is lying on the bed, lost in her thoughts. Hannibal comes and gently tugs at her. He then calls her. She sits upright and looks at him. She then lets him sit on her lap. Hannibal says that he doesn't like that place. He says that he would like to go to his daddy.
He then adds that grandma Claudia said that he can go for a sleepover. Gabriela wipes away tears from her face and says that she too misses his father very much. She then tells him not to worry. She adds that once they go back home, he can go to his great-grandmother's house for sleepovers whenever he wants. Hannibal smiles. Gabriela kisses his forehead. She tells herself that for him, she will fight and hold on.
