EPISODE 151

 

Sometime later,

Helena, Carlos, and Juan Patricio had been released on bail, but with very stringent conditions. They are being closely monitored. Juan Patricio, still cannot believe it. After all the monitoring he did on Antonio, it turns out that it was his wife who was to be the one to pose the biggest threat to him. Where was she? How did Claudia manage to pull off something like that, without Antonio's help?

Back at Martin's house,

Marianna has just gotten off the phone with her cousin Renata. She sighs and then opens the fridge and pours herself a glass of juice. Martin comes into the kitchen. He smiles and asks her if she had fun gossiping with her cousin. Marianna glares at him and says that Renata wanted Dianna to go over for the weekend. Martin says that it's not a problem.

He says that Dianna wanted to ride a bike with Thiago anyway and she has been reminding him daily. Marianna relaxes and Martin asks her what is going through that crazy mind of hers. 

She frowns at him then says that she had thought he wouldn't agree. Martin says that he has no reason to refuse. He moves closer to her and puts his hands over hers. He then adds that Dianna should be close to both his family and hers. Marianna looks at their joint hands then at his face. Neither of them says anything. The chemistry between them is undeniable. Martin knows that if he kisses her, whatever little self-control he has around her will crumble. He has wanted her so much, for so long. Pretending has been pure torture. Marianna remembers telling Martin that she needed space and time to think. 

She says to herself that to hell with all that. She adds that for a moment all she wants to do is know what it means to be happy before she goes to jail. Martin runs a finger down Marianna's face and then tells her that this time if he kisses her, there won't be going back. She stammers as she says that she knows that. She then adds that she doesn't want him to stop anyway. After several moments, Martin releases Marianna's hands and kisses her. Marianna kisses him back with equal passion. It was what they both wanted. It was what they were both waiting for, for a long time. It was where they both belonged, together in each other's arms.

Back with Adrianna and Antonio,

Antonio has gotten Adrianna a glass of water. He watches her sip it slowly. After a little while, she puts it down. He asks her how she feels. Adrianna says that she is still in shock. Antonio reminds her that she is not alone and that there are a lot of people who love her and will help her get through everything. Just then her phone, which was on the table rings. She looks at it then wipes some tears. Antonio asks if it's Hernan. Adrianna says that it is. Antonio says that he must be worried about her and asks her if she wants to talk to him. Adrianna says that she will talk to him when she gets home. She adds that she needs a bit of time to let everything sink in. Antonio says that's fine. 

He asks her where she parked her car. Adrianna says that she didn't come in her car. Antonio is surprised. He asks where it is. Adrianna says that she gave Aranza the car so she could go and take care of Gisela. She adds that she came in a taxi. Antonio says that's fine. He adds that when it's time to go, he will drop her before going to his house. Adrianna looks horrified. She says that he must be tired and he needs to rest. She adds that they all need their strengths in the coming days. Antonio agrees that they will need their strength. He adds that especially when it comes to dealing with Helena and Carlos. Adrianna agrees then says that it's not only that. Antonio asks her what else it is. 

Adrianna says once everything comes out, there will be emergency meetings at the company to deal with any effects the revelations about her parents' deaths will have on the company. Antonio says that at the moment, she and not the company is his main priority. Adrianna says that she is not a little girl and that she can safely get to her own house. Antonio smiles and then says that he knows that but he wants to make sure that she is safe because, at that moment, she isn't well. Adrianna hugs him and thanks him for always being there for her. Antonio says that she is like the sister, he wished he had growing up and he will always be there for her.

Back with Marianna and Martin,

After some minutes, Marianna with a lot of effort moves away from Martin. He looks at her confused and asks her if there was a problem. He says that they had already agreed. Marianna reminds him that they are in the kitchen and that Dianna could wake up and find them. Martin takes hold of one of her hands and guides her towards his bedroom. After locking the door, Martin turns back to Marianna and notices that she is sitting on the far corner of the bed. He goes near her and taps her shoulder. She turns back and looks at him. 

He asks her if she is fine. She says that she is. She adds that sometimes she feels like she is taking from him more than she is giving. Martin kisses her forehead. He asks her why she would feel like that. Marianna says that he is a good person and she doesn't deserve him because she is damaged. Martin lifts her face with his fingers. Marianna looks up at him. He tells her that her mistakes do not make her better or worse than anyone else, they make her human. He adds that what is important is that she learnt from her mistakes and she is working to improve. 

Martin then strokes Marianna's face with one of his fingers. She looks at him. He leans in and kisses her again. She kisses him back. After a few minutes, Martin stands and takes hold of one of Marianna's hands. She asks him what he is doing. He smiles and tells her to relax. Martin leads her to the edge of his bed. Marianna starts to say that sometimes, she doesn't understand him because, but doesn't get to finish because Martin continues kissing her. Very gently, he lays her on the bed and they continue kissing. Several minutes later, they begin undressing each other.

Elsewhere, at Montes De Alba Mansion,

Helena and Carlos were in Gabriel's former study. That day had been a day straight out of their worst nightmares. Carlos says that the worst is however yet to come. Helena asks him what he means. Carlos says that Gabriel and his children will use this opportunity to kick them out and gain full control of the company. Helena paces around then she says that it is his mother's fault. Carlos says that if his father wasn't so careless, his mother wouldn't have found the evidence and got suspicious.

He then adds that regardless their concern shouldn't be who is responsible for their current problem but how to get out of it. Helena says how they will recover when the errors in the death certificates and the car report were glaring and incriminated them. Carlos says that they have to fight the case and fight to retain control of the company. He adds that they will start by the next day's emergency company meeting.

The next day (Thursday),

Things are tense and different at Montes De Alba Inc. The previous day's events were still fresh on the minds of many. The events of the day were so significant, an emergency board meeting had been called. Hernan was with Gabriela in one of the empty meeting rooms. He just wanted to get the day over with. Aranza walks in and looks at both of her siblings. She sits on a chair near her brother and tells her brother and sister to stop looking like they are mourning. She tells them that Antonio would never put Adrianna at risk and for them to have remained where they were, it must be something important. 

She adds that Antonio is very clever and always has a plan. Hernan says that he doesn't doubt that but he doesn't see why Adrianna wouldn't tell him what was going on. He adds that to top it all off, they have to attend the emergency meeting when all he could think of was Adrianna and where she could be and how she was. Gabriela says that she too is worried. She says that ever since his grandmother went missing, Antonio has been acting differently, and she is sure he knows more about where she is, why she went missing, and what happened the previous day than he would like them to believe. Aranza says that very soon, they will know the truth. 

Just then, their father walks into the room. Hernan, Gabriela, and Aranza all stare at their father shocked. Gabriel calmly sits down. He then looks at them and asks them why they are surprised to see him. Aranza says that he should be taking it easy and relaxing because he is still recovering. Gabriel shakes his head and smiles, mischievously much as Aranza would. Hernan asks him if he knows anything. Gabriel says that he doesn't. He adds that he came for two reasons, one because of the meeting and two, to see just why Helena, Carlos, and Juan Patricio were arrested. He adds that if they went to the station, and given that Antonio and Adrianna were still not there, something serious must be going on.

Elsewhere,

In Helena's office,

Helena and Carlos were discussing what their options were given their current predicament. Carlos says that they should go into the meeting and defend themselves. He says that for the moment, no one knows anything and they can use that to their benefit, to manipulate the facts. Helena reminds him that no one knows the facts except for Antonio and probably Adrianna as well. She adds that if neither returned to their own house, Antonio must have a plan up his sleeve.

Carlos says that with his son, anything is highly likely. He adds that they followed Antonio to the hotel he went into but he hasn't been seen leaving the hotel, yet. Helena runs her hands through her hair and says, of course. Carlos asks her what's going on. Helena says that the hotel was a decoy and she wouldn't be surprised if Antonio never spent the night there. She adds that either way they need to think of a long-term plan. Carlos asks her what she means.

Helena says that even as they plan other short-term ways to get out of their problems, they should also have a potential exit strategy. Carlos looks at her horrified. He says that after everything they did to get the company and how hard they have worked for it, they are not going to cede an inch of it to Gabriel or his children. Helena says that she wants to maintain her position as head of the company but she is not willing to go to jail for anything, not even the company. Carlos insists that it is an all-or-nothing fight and that they are in it to fight to the death.

Shortly after,

Gabriela is walking in the garden when she sees Martin sitting down, relaxing. She walks towards him and on seeing her Martin frowns. He says to himself that the interrogator is approaching. Gabriela tells him that he is horrible. Martin says hello to you too. He then asks her what he did. Gabriela says that he ignored her calls. Martin shrugs and says that he knew that she was going to talk nonstop about Antonio acting mysteriously. He adds that she should be patient like all of them because soon enough Antonio will reveal what the mystery is about. 

Gabriela sulks at him then looks at him again and smiles. He asks her what's so strange. Gabriela smiles and says that it took him long enough. Martin shifts uncomfortably. He already knows the direction the conversation is going and he doesn't want to go there. He asks her what she is babbling about. Gabriela looks around then whispers to her cousin, that finally, he made love to Marianna. Martin tells Gabriela that she is nosy and meddlesome. He then adds that he won't comment on the matter. 

Gabriela says that given what happened in the past with Marianna and the ongoing case, he shouldn't have a relationship with her. Martin says that he is old enough to make his own decisions. Gabriela sighs and says that isn't the point. She adds that she saw how broken he was after Emma was killed and she wouldn't want to see him in such a place again. Martin tells her that he will be fine. Gabriela says that Marianna will most likely be sentenced to jail and they don't know for how long that will be. She asks him what he will do then.

Elsewhere,

At Martin's house,

Marianna is in the dining room, she is trying to work on the laptop but cannot concentrate. She closes her eyes for a second then breathes in. She relives the magical night she had with Martin. Yesterday was perfect. Everything lived up to her expectations. Martin was a very good and attentive lover. Every moment of it would be engraved in her mind forever. It was her moment of peace and calmness in her chaotic life. She says out loud that Martin is such a nice person and she is like a hurricane of destruction.

She adds that she can't let him mess up his life because of her since she loves him too much. Just then her phone rings. She sees that it is an unknown number and clicks. She says that Alejandro must think she is stupid if he expects her to fall for the same trick of calling her with a blocked number just to annoy her. She adds that she won't give him the joy or pleasure of getting on her nerves. On the other end of the phone, Alejandro fumes. He says that both Martin and Hernan will pay and very soon. He then slams the phone against the wall.

Back at Montes De Alba Inc.,

Gabriela continues her questioning and asks Martin if he will postpone his life for however long that will be. Martin says that he has thought about all that and has even discussed it with Marianna. Gabriela looks at him, waiting for an explanation which Martin doesn't seem to be willing to offer. Gabriela sighs and says that she loves him and wants him to be happy. She adds that he should leave Marianna alone and find a good woman who doesn't come with a complicated past. Martin says that he can't leave her alone.

Gabriela asks him if it is because he is so fixated on helping her. Martin says it's not because of any of that but because he loves her. Gabriela is shocked. Everyone suspected that something was going on between Martin and Marianna but to hear her cousin admit it was another thing. Just then her phone rings. She removes it out of her pocket and picks it up. She greets her brother and asks him what's up. He says he is fine but asks her to come back up because the meeting is starting in twenty minutes. Gabriela says that it's okay and she's coming.

After finishing talking to her brother, she hangs up and turns her attention back to Martin. She asks him if he would like to come. Martin looks at Gabriela like she is crazy. He says that he doesn't have a right to be there, despite the stunt her father pulled some time ago. Gabriela smiles and waves him away. She says that he should be there. She adds that once Helena and Carlos are removed, she and her siblings will need his, Antonio, Adrianna, and Aurelio's help. Martin holds her hands and tells her that he will always be there to help her and her brother when they need him but such an important meeting is a different private affair.

Gabriela says that they will need his strength and she is sure just like the rest of them, he is curious about the secrecy and the mystery. Martin remembers talking to Marianna, the previous day and her saying that it wasn't her place to reveal what was going on. He says to himself that something is going on and Antonio, Adrianna, and Marianna know what it is. He says that he wants to get to the bottom of whatever it is. He tells Gabriela that they should go. She smiles as they walk off.
