Elsewhere at the hospital,

Renata and Marianna are in the playground. They have been looking for Thiago without success. Renata says that she is going to ground that child when she finds him. She adds that he is driving her crazy with worry always running about. Marianna looks around then something catches her eye in the distance. Renata follows her cousin's eyes and frowns. After all the trouble, there was her son. Who was Thiago talking to? Marianna tells Renata that they should go and check who the man Thiago was talking to was. Thiago was very comfortable around him. Marianna and Renata begin walking towards Thiago and the stranger. Renata was worried. Her son knew better than to talk to strangers.

Elsewhere,

At Isabella's house,

She is there with Horacio and Alejandro. He had been telling them about the incident the previous day with Martin at the hospital. Isabella says that she isn't surprised. She adds that despite Marianna always denying that she and Martin had anything going on, she (Isabella) always doubted that. Horacio says that regardless of that, they should make all of their enemies pay. He adds that they should start with Marianna for betraying them. Alejandro says that the trial to decide Dianna's custody is coming up and he will not make it easy for Marianna or Martin to be happy or to get rid of him that easily.

He then asks Horacio and Isabella about Ricardo. Isabella frowns and asks him why that little brat is relevant. Horacio says that Ricardo isn't their biggest issue at the moment. Alejandro says that whether they like it or not, Ricardo is important. He then asks them if Gabriela has mentioned any long-term plans for the child, like wanting to adopt him. Horacio says that she hasn't. Alejandro says that they could use that to further frustrate the twins and everyone else around them. Isabella says that it is a good idea because Gabriela loves the child and messing with him will hurt her.

Elsewhere,

At Antonio and Gabriela's house,

Gabriela comes into the kitchen and pours herself a glass of juice. Antonio follows her. He asks her if she is fine. She says that she is. She then looks towards the door that both she and Antonio just entered through. Antonio turns and looks at it. He then says that both Ricardo and Hannibal are busy with the cartoons and the milk and cookies, she gave them and won't be up and about anytime soon. He then asks her what she was thinking about. Gabriela says that she was thinking about something her father said. Antonio says that if he is anything like Aranza, it should be interesting. Gabriela rolls her eyes and says that her father thinks that he and Anna Patricia should adopt Ricardo. Antonio is surprised. Gabriela says that was her reaction too.

Antonio says that he has noticed that her aunt has grown very close to Ricardo and the child loves her a lot as well. Gabriela says that it's true her aunt does love Ricardo but still adopting him is a big step that shouldn't be gotten into lightly. Antonio says that if her father told her, then he and Anna Patricia had talked about it, and adopting Ricardo is something they want to do. Gabriela says that her father and Anna Patricia haven't talked about the matter. Antonio says that he doesn't understand. Gabriela says that her father casually mentioned it in passing, and commented that he had noticed that she had grown close to Ricardo and that she loved him. Antonio says that Aranza also says things to test the waters or see someone's reaction. He adds that he sees where she gets that habit from.

Back to the hospital,

Renata and Marianna had already reached near Thiago. Renata calls out to her son. He smiles at his mother. She tells him that they have been looking for him. The stranger looks at Thiago and tells him that it isn't good for him to scare people by running off. The stranger introduces himself. He says that his name is Octavio Ruiz. He adds that he teaches and mentors young boys regularly and that's how he met Thiago. Renata visibly relaxes, once she learns who Octavio is.

She introduces herself and Marianna and they all greet each other. Thiago tells his mother that Mr. Octavio is also a doctor at that hospital. Renata glares at him and then apologises to Octavio in case her son delayed him and he was going to start his shift or see a patient. Octavio says that her son hasn't done anything wrong. He says that his shift just ended and he was on his way to run personal errands. Marianna asks him what his specialty is. Octavio says that he is an Ophthalmologist.

Elsewhere,

At Ramon and Clara's house,

Gabriel had come to pick up Anna Patricia. They were passing by the hospital, to visit Dianna. She notices that he is quiet. It was as if something was on his mind. She asks him about it. Gabriel smiles and says that he has been thinking about something that he feels that they need to discuss. Anna Patricia asks him what it is. Gabriel says that it is about Ricardo. At the mention of the child's name, Anna Patricia's heart mellows.

She says that she doesn't see why they need to talk about Ricardo. Gabriel says that they should consider adopting the child. Anna Patricia looks at him like he is crazy. Gabriel says that he doesn't see why she is shocked given how fond of the child she is. Anna Patricia says that she does love the child but what he has suggested is a big step that they shouldn't get into lightly.

Gabriel says that he knows that and he wouldn't have talked about adopting Ricardo if he felt like it wasn't something he wanted to do. He adds that he has been thinking about it for some time. Anna Patricia asks Gabriel if he has talked to her father. Gabriel says that he doesn't see what her father has to do with Ricardo or them adopting him. Anna Patricia says that her father mentioned that he had noticed how much she loved Ricardo and after they talked, she told him to not meddle and leave the issue at that.

Gabriel says that whether her father is involved or not isn't of importance. He adds that what is important is Ricardo's safety and security. Anna Patricia frowns a little bit then insists that adopting Ricardo is a major decision and she wouldn't want him to do it to make her happy because he might end up resenting the child.

Back at Antonio's house,

Antonio asks her how she feels about it. Gabriela says that her father and Anna Patricia are good people and Ricardo will be loved by them. Antonio says that he was asking about it because he knows how much she loves Ricardo. Gabriela says that she does. She adds that all she wants is for Ricardo to be happy, safe, and with people who love him. She also says that as long as he is safe and isn't harmed or affected by Isabella or Horacio, her heart will be at peace.

Antonio moves closer to her and wraps his arms around her. Gabriela looks at him. He assures her that things will be better. She says that sometimes it doesn't feel that way and it feels like things are getting worse. Antonio says that it will take time but eventually things will work themselves out for everyone's benefit.

Elsewhere,

At Armando and Luisa's house,

Aurelio had dropped by to check on his mother and his sister. He was sitting in the sitting room playing with his sister. She was smiling at him. Luisa came out of the nursery carrying the book with the picture. Aurelio sees his mother with the book. He says that he had borrowed it from Antonio recently. Luisa frowns and scolds him. She tells him that he needs to be careful with things, especially with other people's things.

Aurelio says that he forgot. Luisa frowns at her son. She reminds him that he has always been a bit untidy. Aurelio says he has improved a lot. Luisa nods her head then places the book near him. She asks her son, who the lady in the picture is. Aurelio says that it's Antonio's mother and that she died of cancer when he was three years old. Luisa says to herself that she has to find out if it is her cousin or not.

Luisa asks him what her name was. Aurelio thinks about it for a little while then says Antonio's mother was called Rosa Isela Perez. Luisa is so shocked, she sits down. Noticing his mother's reaction, Aurelio is worried. He gently places his little sister, Rosa in her stroller which was nearby. He then goes to his mother and asks her if she is fine. Luisa waves him away and says that she is fine. She says that seeing the picture of Antonio's mother was shocking because it reminded her of someone. Aurelio gives her an I don't believe you look but says nothing. Luisa stands up and tells him that it is nothing to worry about. She then goes and carries Rosa. Aurelio looks at his mother and asks himself what secrets she is keeping and why she would react that way after seeing a picture of Antonio's mother.

Back at Ramon and Clara's house,

Gabriel says that while he does love her and wants her to be happy, he is not solely agreeing to adopt Ricardo to make her happy. He adds that he is growing fond of the child. Anna Patricia reminds him of what he said a long while back, about how as much as he would love having his grandchildren around, he would send them back straight to his children after because he was done with raising children. Gabriel smiles and raises his hands in the air then puts them down.

He says he doesn't understand how women retrieve information from the past to prove a point. He adds that he had forgotten having said that. Anna Patricia frowns then asks him about it again. Gabriel says that it has been a long time and a lot has changed since then. He adds that at the time, he meant what he said and he most likely wouldn't have agreed to adopt Ricardo. Anna Patricia is still a little hesitant.

Gabriel moves closer to her and holds one of her hands. She looks up at him. He says that while he is not sure, when they will get justice and prove Helena and Carlos are guilty as accused, he wants to rebuild his life with her, by his side. He adds that the twins, Aranza and Martin are adults with their own lives to live and now it's their turn. Anna Patricia says that she agrees but the decision to adopt Ricardo has to be handled carefully. She says that they don't know how everyone else, Gaby especially will handle it.

Gabriel tells her not to worry because he already talked with his daughter and she is okay with the idea. Anna Patricia asks how she took the news. Gabriel says that naturally, she was shocked, but she wants Ricardo to be happy and safe. He adds that his daughter knows that they will love Ricardo and take care of him. Anna Patricia relaxes. Gabriel moves his hand to her cheek and leans in and kisses her. She kisses him back.

Some hours later,

At the hospital,

Marianna is in the hospital's basement parking. She is on her way to her grandfather's car, when she runs into a group of four people, not much younger than her. There are two men and two women. She passes by them and one, a woman turns and laughs at her. Marianna ignores them and continues. Another calls her but she ignores them. Shortly after, she reaches her grandfather's car. Before she can do anything, she feels a hand on her shoulder. She turns and she is face to face with the four friends. Marianna asks them what they want. One of the men, who is the leader of the group asks her why she is in such a hurry.

Marianna looks at the four of them and with bravery, she doesn't have tells them that she doesn't want trouble and that they should leave her alone. 

The second girl, who had not spoken yet, says that it is interesting how much she is so quiet and holy at that moment given everything she did, from drugging people, switching her baby to murder. Marianna looks at each one of them and says that she is not a murderer. She admits that she has made mistakes that she is paying for slowly by slowly but she has never killed anyone. None of the four friends look like they believe a single word she says. The second guy looks at Marianna with pure disgust and says that all four of them have had family who got injured in violent crime and though none of them died, it is sickening when the wheels of justice turn slowly.

Elsewhere,

At Hernan and Adrianna's house,

They are in their room. Adrianna asks Hernan how he feels about Martin and Marianna. He asks her what she means. Adrianna shrugs then reminds him about how Martin stood up for Marianna and defended her from Alejandro. She adds that it has been clear for a while that something is going on between Martin and Marianna despite them both denying it.

Hernan runs his hand through his hair then says that it is awkward but it's their lives and after everything that has happened, he wants peace and sanity. 

He adds that he is a bit concerned for Martin though. Adrianna asks him if he thinks that Marianna is faking things or that she might hurt Martin. Hernan says that he has talked to Marianna enough and has seen how hard she is working to become a better mother and person and he believes that her change is genuine. Adrianna says that she doesn't understand his concerns. Hernan says that he knows his cousin well and he is the kind of person that loves deeply and is sensitive. 

He adds that the trial is far from over and even though they have forgiven Marianna, because of the seriousness of the case and given that four children were put in danger, things are not in their hands. Adrianna looks at him and says that he is concerned about how Marianna's sentencing however long or short, will take a toll on Martin. Hernan nods. He says that Martin will have to raise Dianna alone during that time, he has to lessen the pain of her not having her mother around for all that time, and to top it all off, he has to deal with his pain over being separated from her. He then adds that it will all be a lot for Martin to handle.

Back at the hospital basement,

Marianna apologises to the friends for what they went through then insists that she had no part in killing anyone. She then tries to walk away, afraid that the situation might escalate, but she is dragged back. They then ask her where she is going. Marianna says that she admitted her mistakes but she had no part in the murder. One of the ladies, says that she might not have planned or executed it but she is an accessory to murder because she covered for her friends. The other lady tells Marianna to answer only to what she is asked. Marianna tells herself that she can't tell them that her daughter is there because she doesn't know how crazy they are, or who they know. One of the two men shakes her roughly and, Marianna is brought back to the present situation. She tells them to leave her alone and not get themselves in trouble.

Meanwhile, Octavio is walking in the parking when he hears a commotion. Carefully and slowly, he approaches the direction the sound is coming from. He then asks the four friends what is going on. They are all stunned. They were so focused on torturing Marianna that they didn't notice Octavio approaching. Marianna calls out to Octavio to help her. Octavio tells the friends to move aside. At first, they are hesitant.

He asks them if they would rather deal with security and run the risk of getting arrested. The friends look at each other and, the leader indicates to the rest that they should leave. After they have left, Octavio, asks Marianna if she is fine and if those people did anything to her. She says that she is okay. Octavio asks, her what those people wanted.
