Back at Montes De Alba Inc.,

Adrianna asks Martin what he meant when he said that when Marianna was five. Martin says that Marianna is twenty-seven and, the accident happened twenty-two years ago. Adrianna says okay then says that Antonio would have taken charge of everything but his grandmother's condition is delicate. Martin asks her who else knows. Adrianna says it’s just the twins and Antonio. She adds that she'd like him to tell Marianna and then she and Hernan will tell Santiago and the rest of the family. Martin asks her what about Gabriela.

 

Adrianna says that between the children, work, and supporting Antonio because of his grandmother's condition, they will have to do this one without her. Martin agrees that's the best option. He then asks her how soon he thinks that they should do it. Adrianna says that they shouldn't postpone it any longer and they should do it as soon as they can. Adrianna says that she kind of understands Marianna better now. Martin asks her how. Adrianna says that she suffered a lot of rejection as a child starting from her own mother and she was very vulnerable to lies from Isabella and the rest.

 

She adds that maybe Marianna felt that finally, she belonged somewhere and that she had found people who would love her and accept her. Martin says that it's very likely. He adds that what is even worse is that Marianna made the same mistakes her mother made with her. Adrianna says that it won't be all bad because Marianna is working very hard to be a better mother to her daughter than her own mother was to her. She adds that the two of them and hopefully Marianna's family will help her with that and they can break that evil spirit of bad parenting.

 

Elsewhere at Montes De Alba Inc.,

Aranza and Hernan are in the cafeteria having lunch. She asks him if Helena and Carlos will ever pay for their crimes. Hernan says that he hopes so, but because of the amount of time that has passed, it will be very hard. He adds that unless they find something compelling or Helena and Carlos commit another crime, there is very little they can do. Aranza then looks at Hernan and asks him if he thinks she will be like Helena as she grows older.

 

Hernan looks at his sister a little horrified. He says that she is a good person while her mother has always been evil. He adds that thankfully she is more like their father than her mother. Aranza says that it's a fear she started having as she started learning just how bad Helena was and how far she will go. Hernan puts an arm around Aranza and tells her that she is a good person.

 

Elsewhere at the hospital,

Claudia is still in a delicate condition. She slips in and out of consciousness. She is in a lot of pain. The door to her room opens and Antonio enters. He is dressed in a protective uniform. He wipes away some tears and walks towards her. He kisses her forehead and says that he loves her. He says that he will be by her side as much as possible until she recovers. Claudia wants to call out to Antonio but she doesn't. She feels too weak and she is in so much pain. It was like her mouth wanted to move but couldn't.

 

Elsewhere in the hospital,

Anna Patricia has just taken her father for his usual monthly checkups. Thankfully he was fine. He had suggested they eat first before stopping to check up on Antonio's grandmother. Ramon looks at his daughter and asks her what is troubling her. Anna Patricia looks at her father then sighs. He knows her too well for her to lie to him. She says that she is worried about Martin. Ramon asks her what he has done. Anna Patricia says that she has never agreed with his decision to allow Marianna to live with him from the beginning.

 

She says that Marianna is a train wreck she does not think is good for her son. She also says that adding an innocent child into whatever it is he is upto is only making things more complicated. Ramon says that Martin might do the same thing that he did with her mother. Anna Patricia looks at her father alarmed. Ramon shrugs and says that they both know that Martin is very much like him. He says that he believes Martin when he says that he isn't involved with Marianna but the longer they live together the more that is likely to change.

 

Anna Patricia says that maybe Marianna isn't a killer, but she committed a lot of other crimes and will likely face some jail time or something along that line and she doesn't want her son to get caught up in that. She says that Martin does deserve to find love again, but with a nice girl. Ramon says if Marianna is who Martin ends up loving, there is nothing that they can do because at the end of the day, Martin is an adult and he's not crazy.

 

Meanwhile,

Gossip had spread like wildfire that police investigators had arrived to question Helena and Carlos at Montes De Alba Inc. The news had spread far beyond the company walls. Everyone was talking about it. Speculation was rife (and correctly too) that Helena and Carlos were being questioned over the accident that killed three people and almost killed Gabriel. The shareholders and the board of directors were concerned over the negative publicity the company was receiving and a meeting was arranged for the next Monday.

 

It was decided on a suggestion from Aranza that they should let the rest of the week flow so that they can monitor developments. There were a lot of reporters at the gate of Montes De Alba Inc, waiting for a glimpse of Helena and Carlos as well as any word from either Hernan, Gabriela, or Aranza. Gabriel meanwhile had gone with Gabriela to begin the legal process of getting back his legal identity. A DNA sample from Hernan had been taken before the day and had already been tested and found out to be positive.

 

Back with Anna Patricia and Ramon,

Anna Patricia says that Martin may be twenty-eight but he is still her son and she can't stay quiet when he is walking into a hurricane, like Marianna. Ramon says that it is interesting how she is turning into her mother. Anna Patricia asks her father what he is talking about. Ramon says that her mother has always questioned her decisions in her personal life and has not trusted her enough when it came to how she raised Martin. He continues and says that it is the same thing she is doing with Martin. Anna Patricia smiles. What her father said is not far from the truth.

 

Later that night,

At Martin's house,

Martin is in the kitchen. He runs a hand through his hair. How does he even begin telling Marianna the truth? How does he even start that conversation? Marianna comes into the kitchen. He asks her if Dianna is asleep. Marianna says that she is. He watches Marianna fill up the water bottle that she was holding with water from the dispenser. She turns to leave and he asks her if she was going to sleep. She turns to face him and says that it's too early and she will watch a movie on her phone or something. She then asks him if he needed something. Martin says that he wanted to talk to her. Marianna says that it's okay then adds that they should go to the sitting room. Martin follows her.

 

Elsewhere,

At Natalia and Damian Holguain's house,

They are having a late dinner, and are engaged in a conversation when Santiago's phone rings. He removes it from his pocket and is surprised to see who it is. He tells his son and daughter-in-law that it is Hernan. He then picks it up. Hernan apologizes for calling so late. Santiago says that it's not a problem. Hernan says that he would like to meet the whole family. Santiago is surprised at this request. Why would Hernan Montes De Alba call him late at night and ask to meet with his whole family? Santiago asks Hernan if something is wrong. Hernan says that everything is okay but he would rather talk in person.

 

He says that it is a matter that concerns his whole family. Santiago asks Hernan if Antonio is unwilling to continue to help him with his treatments and couldn't tell him face to face. Hernan says that it has nothing to do with his health but more to do with his late son. On hearing something about Diego, Santiago is even more intrigued. He tells Hernan that he is with his son and daughter-in-law and would like to talk to them first to agree on a date. Hernan says it's okay. He then adds that he would rather not have Thiago present to shield the child. Santiago says he will talk with his granddaughter and see how Thiago can be kept away from the conversation.

 

Back at Martin's house,

He is with Marianna in the sitting room. He is having trouble starting the conversation. She watches him curiously. Marianna tells Martin that she is surprised that he is having trouble telling her whatever he wanted to say to her. She adds that usually, he has a lot to say to her, even if it is mostly making fun of her or insulting her. Martin stares at her then tells her to stop joking because what he has to tell her is very serious. Marianna rolls her eyes.

 

Martin says that Antonio found out something about her when he was searching for the perfect candidate among the family members of the three men killed during the attempt to kill Gabriel. Marianna says that she doesn't see how she is connected to the crime or any of the victims. Martin takes a deep breath and says she is connected because one of the three men killed was her father. Marianna is shocked. She holds one hand to her chest. She has never been so shocked in her life. Martin says that isn't the whole story.

 

Marianna looks up at him and asks him to continue. Martin watches her with worry but says that her father Diego was the son of Santiago, the man they visited in hospital some time ago. Marianna says that everything makes sense now. Martin asks her what she means. Marianna says that Renata fainted the first time she saw her because she resembled her (Renata's) grandmother. She then adds it was because, the lady, Victoria was also her grandmother. Martin says that while doing his research Antonio saw Victoria's picture when she was in her thirties and was amazed by how much she looked like her (Marianna).

 

Back at Natalia and Damian's house,

Santiago has just told them everything Hernan said. Natalia says that it's no secret that Antonio is quite intelligent and maybe he found out something related to their family when doing work for somebody. Damian says that it is likely. He adds that his brother died in the same accident where Gabriela's father nearly died, and probably while looking over information related to the accident or preparing for Gabriel's reveal, something turned up. Santiago says that he would like them to meet with Hernan as soon as possible and clear up whatever issue it is. He adds that they need to agree on a date and venue.

 

Back at Martin's house,

Marianna asks if (she pauses) her family knows about her. Martin says that Hernan and Adrianna are in the process of telling them that and they will do so in the week. Marianna says that knowing how thorough and efficient Antonio is, he probably dug up information about her mother as well. Martin says that they do know that her mother eventually abandoned her when she was young. Marianna doesn't say anything and Martin thinks that she will cry. She, however, wipes away a few tears.

 

She asks Martin if her father knew about her. Martin says that he didn't. That was the last straw. Marianna stands up and turns to leave. In a split second, Martin is by her side. He holds one of her hands. She turns and looks at him. He can see the tears threatening to fall. He asks her how she is. Marianna starts to say that she is fine, but she stammers and the tears finally fall. Martin puts an arm around her and she lays her head on his chest. He doesn't say anything but just comforts her.

 

Elsewhere,

At Antonio and Gabriela's house,

Gabriela is in the kitchen having a glass of water when her phone which is nearby rings. She goes and picks it up. It is an unknown number. She frowns but decides to pick it up. It is Horacio. She sighs and asks him what he wants. He says that he is insulted that she forgot about him. Gabriela rolls her eyes. She then sighs in frustration. She tells Horacio that she has no time for his nonsense. She adds that she only wants to be free from him. Horacio says that he will never sign the divorce papers because he intends to keep his vows to her forever.

 

Gabriela sighs and slams the phone down. Horacio was even crazier than she thought. Horacio says that Gabriela will always be his and his alone. Antonio comes into the kitchen and asks her who that was. Gabriela pauses then says it was Horacio. Antonio clenches one hand and moves closer to her. He asks her if Horacio has called her before. Gabriela says that he occasionally bothers her. Antonio asks her why she hasn't told him yet. Gabriela says that Horacio is a pest and she doesn't want to give him attention because he doesn't deserve it.

 

Antonio sighs in frustration. Sometimes Gabriela can be so frustrating. Antonio says that he loves her and if she has a problem, he wants her to come to him and not bottle it up or face it alone. He adds that they both know that Horacio is crazy and he has to protect her. Gabriela says that she knows that and she loves and appreciates him. She promises to tell him if Horacio bothers her again. Antonio kisses her and she kisses him back. They then go back to their room where they begin to make sweet passionate love.

 

Back at Martin's house,

After some time, Marianna lifts up her head from Martin's shoulder. She apologizes for breaking down. He says that it wasn't a problem. He adds that what she just found out is pretty shocking. Marianna agrees that it was but adds that it wasn't why she cried. Martin asks her why she cried. Marianna says that when he said that her father never knew she existed it broke her that her mother never told him that she was pregnant. Marianna adds that her mother didn't love her and didn't even bother to let her father or his family know of her.

 

She adds it was like her hate for her was so great, she didn't want anyone else to love her. Martin says that they have talked enough about her mother and they should let the topic go for now. Marianna says that she is afraid her father's family will reject her. Martin says that they are nice people and either way she should relax about it. Marianna takes a deep breath and wipes off another fresh round of tears. Martin comes closer and runs his hand down her face. Marianna looks up at him. Martin lets his hand slide down to her waist.

 

Somewhere deep in them, they know that they cannot be. However, at this moment it doesn't matter. Nothing does. He leans in and kisses her and with an equal amount of passion, she kisses him back. Marianna wraps her arms around his shoulders. After a few minutes, Marianna pulls away. She looks at Martin for a second then without a word she quickly leaves. Martin doesn't follow her. He runs a hand through his hair. He also needs to process what just happened.
