Meanwhile,
Adrianna is sitting in the garden, just thinking about everything that has happened, and what they have just discovered. She remembers kissing Hector and she says that things were not going to get any easier. She wonders how things would be from there.
At the end of the day,
Gina, Aranza, and Anna Patricia have gone to the hospital to visit John. They are in the garden waiting for him. Anna Patricia looks at both Gina and Aranza and asks them what is going on, and what Hector is up to. Aranza says it's a long story. Gina glares at her sister. Aranza shrugs and tells Gina that Anna Patricia is her family, and anyway soon enough people will know the truth anyway.
Anna Patricia asks them what they are up to because Martin wouldn't tell her anything either. Before either Gina or Aranza can say anything, John arrives. After greeting each one of them he looks at Aranza and asks her what is going on. Aranza looks at Gina. Gina rolls her eyes but tells her aunt and John that she will tell them everything.
Elsewhere,
Luisa hears a knock on the door and goes to open it. She is shocked to see Antonio and Hector but lets them in. They move and go to the dining room. Clara who was in the second bedroom hears the voices and wants to see who has come. She too is a little surprised, but goes and hugs both Hector and Antonio and calls them my boys. She then folds her arms and asks them how they got there so early on a workday. Hector says that they had errands to run, and had left work early. Clara repeats the word errands, in an, I- don't -believe -you- tone.
She then looks at Antonio and asks him what shenanigans, her grandson (Hector) has got him upto. Antonio smiles. Clara is such an interesting grandmother. Hector tells Clara that he is not up to anything. Luisa tells Clara to stop interrogating the boys. She then gets up and says that she will get them some juice. Antonio says that it is fine, and he will do it. Luisa thanks him, as he goes to the kitchen. Clara meanwhile tells Luisa that she doesn't interrogate. Rosa Milagros wakes up and cries, and Clara says that she will go and get her.
Back at the mental hospital,
Gina has just finished explaining to John and Anna Patricia, about Emma's letter. They are of course shocked. They can hardly believe what has happened. Anna Patricia asks them what their plans are. Gina says that Hector and Martin, are going to take the samples that they got from the children and do DNA tests. She then adds that this is a backup, in case Isabella or one of her friends tries to interfere with the official results.
She also adds that additionally, they plan to sue for temporary custody of both the children as the legal issues are sorted out. John asks them what legal issues they are talking about. Gina says that divorce, for one, but that they haven't talked about much else, beyond that. Aranza adds that not many people know about it, and they want to keep it a secret until they do their DNA tests.
Back at Luisa and Armando's,
Hector has just told them everything, including what (little) they have agreed to do so far. Both Luisa and Clara are shocked. Clara, tells them that they need to deal with this carefully, and protect the girls. Antonio assures them that they will do everything to keep Adrianna and Gina safe.
Luisa says that they shouldn't forget, about the children, and that they should do all they can to make sure that Marianna and Isabella don't get their children back because they have proved that they don't care about them. Hector assures them that they will.
Back at the mental hospital,
John tells Gina that they will all be there, for her. She wipes away a loose tear, and he goes and hugs her. Anna Patricia tells herself that there will be rivalry again between the twins like when they were younger, and they were constantly bickering. She adds that Gina was probably her father's favourite child and she is trying to make sure, that she remains that way. She continues and says that Aranza and Hector won't like it. Aranza looks at them and says that it feels like they have known each other forever because they have a strong bond. She adds that Gina treats him like a loved uncle or a father.
Later at night,
Hector, is returning to the house, after having bought sugar, when he is accosted by a group of thug-looking men, in a fairly dim alley. He tries to defend himself but they are too many and overpower him. He is beaten and bundled up into their car.
A little later, at Gina and Horacio's house,
She is in her room with her son, Hannibal (in reality Isabella's son, Ricardo, because the children were switched). She is playing with him, when she gets a bad feeling, and clutches her chest. She closes her eyes for a second and says that she has to check up on her brother. She kisses the child and tells herself that he may not be her son but she will do all she can to ensure that he is always safe and protected.
She puts the baby down and tells him that she has to check up on his uncle. She picks up her phone and dials Hector's number. The call goes through but no one answers the phone. She tries a couple more times and then sighs. She says that she doesn't want to call Marianna, but she has to find out where Hector is.
Meanwhile in a dingy, dark street,
The thugs have let Hector out of the car and are beating him up again. He winces and cries in pain, and asks them to tell him who is paying them to beat him. One of them, most likely the leader, tells him to keep quiet. He tells Hector that he will learn to keep off what doesn't belong to him and respect other people's possessions. They continue beating Hector, and a gunshot is heard. Hector has been shot in the foot. The leader tells Hector that the shot was just an example of what would happen to him if he remains stubborn.
Meanwhile, at Hector and Marianna's house.
Marianna looks at her phone and is surprised to see Gina calling. She asks herself what she could want with her, but picks. Gina asks her if Hector is there. Marianna says that she is Hector's wife, not his babysitter and that she (Gina) should call him. Gina rolls her eyes and tells Marianna that she isn't stupid and has done that, but she couldn't find him.
Marianna says that he went out to buy sugar.
She adds that he probably ran into friends or his phone is out of charge. Gina asks Marianna how long it has been since he went out. Marianna says it has been quite some time. She adds that he should have been back by now. Gina says that even if he ran into friends, or his phone ran out of battery, he should have called by now. She insists that something is wrong with Hector.
Meanwhile at Antonio's house,
He is carrying his son Ricardo (In reality Hannibal, because the babies were switched). He is in his home office with him. He tells himself that he is going to reunite Gina with their son and that he will do anything he can to make them into a family again. The baby smiles, and Antonio tells himself that he has Gina's smile. He adds that despite the mistakes he has made, his son is one of his greatest gifts. Ricardo (Hannibal) in that simple baby way tells Antonio that he wants milk. Antonio carries him and tells him that they are going to get milk and he smiles.
The next day,
A woman in her mid-thirties is walking down an alley when she notices the bloodied body of a man lying there. She stares at it for a second and screams. She then calls one of the nearby hospital emergency numbers.
Later at Montes De Alba Inc.,
Gina and Martin are at the cafeteria. He asks her why she wanted to talk to him so urgently. She says that she is worried about Hector. Martin asks her why she is worried. Gina looks around then whispers, that her twin sense tells her that something happened to her brother. She adds that she has been trying to call him since the previous day but without success. Martin asks her if she called Marianna.
Gina says she called the previous day, and Marianna said that Hector had stepped out to buy sugar, but hadn't returned yet. Gina adds that she called Marianna again in the morning and Hector still hadn't returned. Martin holds her hands and says that he will help her. Gina adds that she has called Hector again and the phone is off, and he hasn't arrived at work. Martin comforts her.
Meanwhile, at the hospital,
Hector has been taken to the emergency room. He has been pretty badly injured. The doctor says to himself that it will be a miracle if this one survives. He asks if any relatives have arrived. The nurse says that no identification or contacts were found on him.
Back at Montes De Alba Inc.,
Marianna is at her desk. She tries to call Hector again but to no avail. She asks herself what could have happened to him.
Meanwhile,
Alejandro is in his office. He says that Hector, should, now learn to keep off Adrianna, because there will be further consequences.
Meanwhile,
Martin calls his mother and tells her about Hector. She is of course worried. She says that she will tell his grandparents, aunt, and uncle. She also asks him to update her in case of anything.
Meanwhile,
Aurelio and Aranza have also been told about Hector's disappearance. They are in the cafeteria. He tells her that Hector will be fine. Aranza says that none of them can be sure, and that worries her. She adds that she loves Hector like an older brother and he has always treated her like a younger sister and doesn't want anything to happen to him. Just then Gina comes and joins them.
Aurelio tells her that Antonio was asking if they should go for the results even as they search for Hector. Gina pauses for a second. Aurelio says that he hopes that she remembers, that Antonio would have done it himself, but given how sensitive things are at the moment, he sent him. Gina says she understands Antonio. She adds that Martin and Antonio should go for them, despite Hector missing.
Meanwhile at Armando and Luisa's house,
Clara is as usual there to help Luisa take care of Rosa Milagros. Rosa is peacefully sleeping in her cot. Luisa is sitting in a chair opposite Clara. She is stressed because of what happened to Hector. She loved him like her own son. She remembers the day she and her husband found the children abandoned, weak, sick, hungry, and tired in the forest. She has loved him and his sister since. Clara comes and holds her hands and tells her to have faith that they will find Hector soon. Luisa smiles at her mother-in-law. Luisa says that she loves him and his sister, and is afraid for him.
Clara says she also feels the same way, but they need to have faith. Luisa tells Clara that her fear is also about the evidence they found about the baby switch. She says that if Isabella and her friends, were capable of drugging Gina, Adrianna, Antonio, and Hector, baby switching, as well as murder, they could probably hurt Hector. Clara says that they wouldn't know about the paper because the children were careful, and it doesn't make sense why they would target Hector over it. Luisa says that maybe it was to scare, everyone else.
She adds that what she does know is that Hector is a good boy with no enemies. Clara makes a hmm sound. Luisa looks at her mother-in-law and asks her what she is up to. Clara says that while Hector is a good boy, she knows somebody, who would want to harm him. Luisa asks who it is. Clara says that it's Alejandro. She adds that he is crazy, and has always been jealous of Hector because Adrianna loves him. Luisa asks why he would try to do anything now all of a sudden to Hector. Clara says that he is crazy and that only he knows.
Shortly after,
Anna Patricia, calls John. He is happy to see her call but quickly picks up on the worry in her voice. He asks, her what's wrong. She says that Hector is missing. John is afraid for Hector. He asks how Gina is. Anna Patricia, says that given how much she loves him, she is shaken. Anna Patricia says that she has to help wherever she is needed. John says that he understands. Anna Patricia says that Aranza might come though that isn't a guarantee. He says he doesn't mind if no one comes, given what has just happened.
Back at the hospital,
Hector is slipping in and out of consciousness. He keeps on saying that he wants to see, his sister. The doctors are resuscitating him.
Meanwhile, at lunch,
Gina, Antonio, Adrianna, Aranza, Aurelio, and Martin are at the cafeteria. Aranza says that she will go to visit John since Gina and Anna Patricia won't be going. Everyone looks at her. Aranza shrugs and says that if that's where she can help she will. Antonio looks at Gina, and it pains him, to see her that way. He tells himself that he will do everything, he can to find Hector. Antonio says that he was thinking that he, Martin, and Aurelio should, go for the results and that they should be safely kept at Aurelio and Aranza's place until they find Hector, and then they can deal with whatever the results say.
Antonio adds that tomorrow, he, Aurelio, and Martin can then begin looking for Hector around the nearby hospitals if he will not have been found or have come back. Everyone agrees. Martin adds that they should make a list of all the nearby hospitals and go with Hector's picture on the search. Gina silently prays to God to take care of her brother, wherever he is. She adds that they may fight often, but she loves him very much.
