EPISODE 67

 

Sunday comes and goes and, soon it is Monday.

Claudia calls Antonio. He frowns when he sees it is her but picks it up. She reminds him that he has two sons and that he should love and treat them equally. Antonio sighs. His grandmother must be the most irritating person on earth to talk to. An idea enters his head and he smiles. Antonio says that since they are discussing the matter of people treating both their children equally, he has one question. Without waiting for his grandmother to respond, he asks her why she turns it into a big deal when his (Antonio) grandfather tries to treat Armando and Aurelio, the way he'd treat his father and himself. Claudia scoffs at him and keeps quiet.

Antonio knows that was a good comeback and smiles. Claudia says that girlfriend of his has blinded him but says she will never give up on him. Claudia ends the phone call. Antonio turns to find Gina staring at him. He moves towards her and kisses her forehead. Gina says she knows it was his grandmother and that she has a feeling his grandmother found a way to blame her (Gina). Antonio tells her not to mind his grandmother too much. He adds that he is used to her and knows how to keep her at arm's length. Gina agrees then tells him that Hector will come over later to see her and the baby. Antonio asks himself whether it's just a visit, or they are discussing whatever secret it is he is sure the two of them are keeping.

Sometime later,

Carlos is in his office. There are a lot of papers on his desk for him to sign. He stops momentarily and his mind goes back to the hospital. He remembers Anna Patricia. What a stunning woman she was. He wanted her.

Elsewhere,

Adrianna walks around the house later. Gisela has just gone to sleep and she is bored out of her wits. The day help asks her if she is fine. Adrianna smiles and says she is fine, she is just bored. The help, says while she may not have any children yet, she has an idea. She suggests that Adrianna could learn something, like an extra skill. She adds that she knows someone who felt the maternity leave was wasted and ended up resenting her son because of it. She then apologises for talking too much. Adrianna smiles and says she has actually given her things to think about.

Later on in the day, Hector arrives at Gina and Antonio's house. The help brings them juice in the dining room. Hector apologizes and says that he would like to talk to his cousin in private, in Antonio's home office. Gina looks at her brother in shock, then asks the help, Perla, to get the drinks, as she goes and gets her son.

Elsewhere,

Horacio goes to visit Isabella. When they are alone, he looks at Gina and Antonio's son ( Hannibal Miguel) with complete and utter disgust. He says that the little brat is evidence of Antonio taking what was once his and should remain his. Isabella says that they should stick to the story of making everyone believe the false insemination story. She adds that they should make Adrianna and Gina believe that they got pregnant through insemination from Alejandro and him (Horacio) respectively, rather than naturally.

Back at Antonio's house,

Hector looks at Gina suspiciously. Her son meanwhile is laying quietly in his cot. Gina asks him what he is up to. He says she should be the one telling him what she is up to. Gina rolls her eyes at her brother and asks him what he wanted to interrogate her about. Hector says she has been acting strangely, for the past several days, and then she went into early labour. He adds that he is sure that whatever it is, concerns them both.

Gina sighs. She should have known Hector would notice even the slightest bit of change in her.

It came with the territory of having a twin, she had been through everything, good and bad with, as well as who she was very close to and who she loved very much, (most of the time anyway). Hector, comes and puts, an arm around his sister and says that whatever, it is, she can tell him because they will always have each other's backs. Gina sighs and removes her phone from her pocket. She tells Hector that she has to show him something.

Meanwhile,

Isabella adds that DNA tests will have to be carried out at some point and since the children were already switched, it will prove their claims. Horacio agrees with Isabella and says they should start pretty soon. Isabella adds that the possibility of such a scandal should get Helena even more against Hector and Claudia even more against Gina, which will work further in their favour.

Back at Antonio's house,

Gina shows Hector the pictures she took of John's tattoo. Hector looks at his sister confused. He says he doesn't understand why she has pictures of their father's tattoo, from the internet. Gina tells him that the pictures have been stored in images, not downloads, and she took them with her phone. Hector looks at the phone, again then at his sister, and asks her what is going on. Gina tells him, what happened the last time she went to visit John. Hector remains quiet for a few seconds. He is beyond shocked. He then looks at his sister and says, that there is a tiny possibility that John is their father.

Gina admits that the thought has crossed her mind, but adds that they went to their father's funeral. Hector reminds her that they never saw his face or body, and there was one body that had remained unaccounted for to date. Gina asks him if she thinks Helena and Carlos would stoop that far. Hector reminds them that Carlos and Helena plotted to kill their father, and three people died in the process, then they tried to kill them (Hector and Gina) and that Helena blackmailed and threatened her own daughter. He then asks her if she still thinks the two of them were not capable of much more evil things. Gina asks him what he thinks happened.

Hector says that they could easily have bribed or threatened someone into switching bodies or declaring their father dead. Gina sighs again. She says that it's all too much. She adds that their situation is already complicated enough, living under hidden identities, and the fear of how hurt Aranza, Adrianna, and Antonio will be when they discover the truth and then now they have to rehash a painful past for families that already mourned and moved on as well as for themselves. Hector hugs her and says that they shouldn't deal with this alone. He adds that they will have to tell the whole family. Gina agrees. He adds that they should start with Martin.

Later on, at night, Helena looks at Carlos. She notices, his mind is far away. She asks him if he is okay. He says he is perfectly okay. He adds that he was just thinking about what schemes his mother will come up with, concerning his father including Armando and Aurelio in his will. Helena looks at him suspiciously. She says (to herself) that she doesn't doubt that he is concerned about that and that his mother might probably put him upto something but she is sure, it's Anna Patricia on his mind and not his mother's schemes.

Elsewhere, Hector was sitting on his favorite chair in his house, still thinking about what he learnt earlier. He says that if John was their father, everything changed. He becomes their first priority. He asked himself, what happened from there. He adds that he really hopes it's true, especially for his sister, because he knows that she has never gotten over their father's death. Adrianna comes and finds him deep in thought.

She wonders what it is he is thinking about. On noticing Adrianna there, he brings his mind back to the present. She asks him if he feels well. He assures her he feels well. Adrianna remembers what Antonio told her about suspecting that Gina and Hector are hiding something big. Could Antonio be right? Adrianna has had similar feelings. She asks herself what they could be hiding.

The next day, on Tuesday,

Early in the morning, Martin picks up his phone. There is a message from Gina, saying that she, him, and Hector needed to meet. He sighs and asks himself what those crazy twins have done this time. He adds that the last time, the two of them secretly worked on something, it was risky and almost raised trouble.

Elsewhere,

Gina is up. She hadn't slept well. In fact, she hadn't slept too well for days, ever since she saw John's tattoo. She could hardly wait to meet her brother and Martin and begin discussing the issue. Antonio moves to her side and asks her if she is okay. Gina says she is. He says that she seems restless. Gina insists she's fine, and that she's just bored.

Antonio still has a feeling that it's much more than that but decides to let it go for the moment. He asks her if she'd like to use his laptop. He adds that there's Wi-Fi, and software that she can use to design things. Gina says that will be fine. Antonio moves to her and reminds her that he loves her and that he is there for whatever she needs. She says that she loves him too. He kisses her and she kisses him back as well.

Meanwhile,

Marianna is at her house. She remembers how often Hector had thrown her off for that 'boring' Adrianna and vows that she will never let them be happy. She adds that if Hector won't be hers, Adrianna won't have him either. She then turns and looks at their daughter Gisela Paulina, and says that she will help her have Hector.

Isabella, meanwhile, is in her dining room. The baby starts crying and she calls out to the help to come and pick him up. She tells her to see what the child wants. The help says that the child is hungry. Isabella looks at her scathingly and tells her to go and feed the little brat. She then leaves. The help nods her head and says that the child does not deserve such an evil woman for a mother. She also adds that the child's father is a nice man, and wonders how he got involved with such a witch. She goes to feed the child and says that he is such a precious child.

A little later, Carlos is at the office but he is unable to concentrate on work. He calls his secretary and tells her to cancel all his appointments for the day and to say that he is unwell. The secretary says she will. After Carlos cuts the calls off, the secretary shakes her head and wonders who the unlucky woman who caught the attention of her randy boss is.

After lunch, Martin and Hector meet up. Martin is curious as to why Hector insisted that they meet up. He also asks why he insisted the meeting should be in the office washrooms. Hector reminds him that Alejandro can't stand him and he can't risk someone who is Alejandro's spy listening in on their conversation and the matter getting out. Martin looks at Hector suspiciously and says every time he and his sister start acting secretively, they are always up to no good. Hector smiles and tells Martin to give him a second.
