EPISODE 30

 

The next day, a Tuesday reaches. It is very early in the morning. Gina can't explain how she feels. She looks at Antonio still sleeping and smiles. For reasons she can't explain, she is excited about seeing John. She wants her brother to see him so that he can see how much, he resembles their father, and stop thinking she (Gina) is crazy.

Later,

Aurelio has a Class at 8:30am and is at the university by 8 am. He goes towards the male hostels, so he can walk to class with a friend but runs into Mauricio and his gang. His initial reaction is, of course, to be shocked, but he tries to avoid them. They, however, seem ready to gloat and cause trouble. When he reaches, near where they are, Mauricio blocks his path and stares at him menacingly. He sarcastically asks Aurelio if he thought, he would keep him in jail. Aurelio does not answer him. He tries to leave but another of Mauricio's friends blocks his way. Aurelio still does not respond. Mauricio pushes him but Aurelio does nothing. Mauricio then tells him that Aranza dropped the charges. Aurelio looks shocked and turns to leave again, but he is stopped. A security guard comes and stops them from fighting.

Meanwhile back at Montes De Alba Inc.:

Gina is at her desk when she receives a call from the department's supervisor, who says that Helena wants to talk to her. Gina is surprised, but she tells Emma to tell Antonio, then leaves to go and talk to Helena.

Elsewhere,

Adrianna is at her desk, working when she sees a call. It's from Aurelio. Adrianna picks it up. She can tell something is wrong. He asks, her if she knows what's wrong with Aranza. Adrianna tells her that Aranza called her and Antonio separately yesterday and told them she had a headache. Aurelio tells her that he doesn't think, Aranza has a headache. Adrianna asks him what he is talking about. Aurelio tells her that he just saw Mauricio and his friends, a few minutes ago. He then adds that he thinks that how Aranza is acting has to do with Mauricio and his friends being released, and her dropping the charges. Adrianna says that she is surprised to hear that Aranza dropped the charges because she didn't tell her or Antonio, and says she will talk to Aranza about it.

At Helena's office,

Gina takes a deep breath and enters the office. She finds Helena sitting on her chair. Helena tells her to sit on the opposite chair. She then asks Gina, if she knows why she is here. Gina says she thinks it's because of the fight she had with Isabella in the lift the previous day. Helena tells her that was a serious offence and they do not tolerate such shameful acts in there. Gina does not say anything but continues to look at her. Helena adds that personal matters should be kept personal and away from the office and that she doesn't want any scandals such as the previous day's.

Meanwhile, Emma texts Antonio and tells him that Helena called Gina to her office. Antonio knows it's about the fight Gina had with Isabella in the lift. Before he can think about it any further, Adrianna calls him. She tells him that Aurelio told her that Aranza dropped the charges against Mauricio and his friends. Adrianna says she finds it weird, and she is worried about Aranza. Antonio tells her to get Aranza so that the two of them can come to his house, and they can find out what happened. Adrianna then calls Aurelio and tells him that she will talk with Antonio and Aranza later that day, and then they will all see how to proceed from there.

After lunch, Hector and Gina leave for the mental hospital. Gina has asked Emma to cover for her and she was more than happy to do so. Hector also got someone to cover for him. Hector still thinks his sister is being crazy but decides to go ahead, anyway. They meet Roberto, who takes them to Dr. Alves's office. He gives them a summary of John's medical history so far then how John has been in the past few days. He then adds that Gina will be introduced to him first as Hector remains behind the scenes with the doctor and a nurse.

Meanwhile, Adrianna calls Aranza. Aranza sighs and says (to herself) that Adrianna has called and will be melodramatic and overreact as usual. Aranza reassures Adrianna that she is okay. Adrianna tells her that Antonio wants to meet them both. Not keen to go home and see her mother, Aranza readily agrees.

Meanwhile, at the mental institution, John is in his room, when a nurse comes in to get him. She tells him that he has visitors. He looks at her, and she tells him that people have come to see him. She holds his hands and takes him to the garden.

A short while later, Dr. Alves takes Hector and Gina to the gardens. Hector remains with Roberto. Hector watches the doctor as he takes Gina to a nurse, who is near a middle-aged man sitting on a bench. Dr. Alves asks, John to turn around and see who is there to see him. He turns and looks at Gina. Hector is shocked. The resemblance between John and his father is striking. Yes the man is older, but he looks like his father would have, had he not died young. Everyone watches John's reaction to Gina. 

He stares at her for several seconds, and then calls her butterfly. Gina asks him his name, and he says he doesn't know. The nurse leaves them alone and walks a little distance off. Gina feels sad for him because no one had ever visited him and his family probably thought he was dead. She asks him if he had children, and he says he is not sure, but he often has memories of a young boy, with his mother. Gina asks him, what the boy's name is. John says he doesn't know the boy's name or his mother's name. He then looks at her and tells her that, the woman from his memories, looks like her.

Meanwhile, the doctor decides to introduce Hector to John. The nurse takes Hector to meet John. Hector stares at John, still dealing with the shock of John's uncanny resemblance to his late father. John stares at him and then asks him who he is. He says he is Gina's cousin. John looks at him, then at Gina. He says he knows him (Hector) from somewhere, but he can't remember from where. Dr. Alves watches the three of them together. He has never seen John so at peace, than when Gina and Hector were around. John looks less sad and depressed than usual. John looks at Hector and tells him that he would want a son just like him.

After her last class ends at four-thirty, Aranza leaves to go to Antonio's place. She runs into the last person she wants to see Mauricio. He blocks her path and asks her where she is going. Aranza tells him that it is none of his business. He reminds her that Aurelio's scholarship and his grandfather's medical insurance will be canceled if she talks. Aranza tells him, she would call him a dog, but she wouldn't want to insult loyal, adorable animals. Mauricio says he likes her as feisty and headstrong as she is. She glares at him and walks away.

Meanwhile, Antonio and Adrianna leave together for his house. They find Hector and Gina already there. Gina asks Antonio what's going on, and why all four of them are meeting there. Antonio tells them that Aranza dropped the charges, against Mauricio and they are shocked. He then tells them of Aurelio's confrontation with Mauricio and his gang. Gina is afraid. Flavio Basanez is a dangerous man. He is a close ally of Carlos and Helena. She would not be surprised if he was involved in her father's murder. Flavio is the owner of one of Montes De Alba Inc.'s major suppliers. Adrianna says that it is suspicious how Aranza just dropped the charges and how she is acting.

Meanwhile, Marianna, Isabella, Alejandro, and Horacio are meeting up at a nearby pub, to discuss the coming Friday's plans. They are of course shocked to learn that Claudia has no problem with them drugging Antonio. Isabella tells them that she didn't tell her the whole truth and then tells them what happened.

Meanwhile,

Aranza arrives at Antonio's house and then folds her hands and pouts. She then looks from Antonio to Gina to Hector and then to Adrianna, and asks them what they are doing there. She then sits down. Gina says that they all love her, very much, and are worried about her. Aranza says that she is fine, but they can tell she is not. Antonio says that she looks afraid of someone or something. Aranza folds her hand and looks down. She is afraid of what Flavio and her mother will do to Aurelio and Ramon. She loves Aurelio too much.

Antonio comes and hugs her, and she starts crying. Aranza tells them she can't tell them. Hector asks why she is so afraid and who she is so afraid of. Aranza says that it is not safe for her to talk. Adrianna panics and asks her if someone threatened her. Aranza shakes her head and says no. She is afraid of her mother and Flavio, but she trusts Adrianna, Antonio, Gina, and Hector very much. Aranza tells them the truth. They are all shocked, especially Adrianna. How can someone be so cruel? Aranza asks Antonio if she can stay there for the night, and he agrees.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, John is in his room. He has another flashback. In it, there is the same young boy but with an older man, in his forties. He then picks up, a picture book he was looking at and runs his finger up and down it.

Meanwhile back at Antonio's house:

Aranza asks Gina how their visit went. She tells them and says that they worked out an arrangement with the doctors, where they will be visiting him on some weekdays after work. Antonio is a little surprised. He feels Gina and Hector are getting too attached to John, who is a stranger they hardly know. Aranza asks Gina why her (Aranza's) mother wanted to talk to her. She is surprised Aranza knew. Aranza says news spreads fast. Gina says she scolded her for the previous day's incident, without caring to find out the facts of what happened. Aranza tells her not to be surprised because anyone who can threaten and blackmail their child can do anything. Adrianna hugs her. Hector and Gina visit John for one hour each on Wednesday and Thursday.
