EPISODE 28

 

On Saturday morning,

Gina wakes up earlier than Antonio. She goes over what she learnt, about John. It is all so confusing. She feels so sorry for him. He has lost so much of his productive years; he could have done so much. Gina goes, to the kitchen for a glass of water. Meanwhile Antonio's phone rings. He mumbles and picks up his phone. He opens the message. It's a series of pictures in which Gina is talking to somebody in a restaurant in the mall. He goes through each picture. He then wears his robe and goes to look for her. She is in the kitchen drinking water and has a faraway look in her eye. He looks at her for a few seconds and then walks towards her. He puts one hand, on her shoulder and she turns and faces him.

Antonio asks her again if she's fine and she says she is. He asks her what she was thinking about, which caught her attention so much. Gina says she is thinking about John, the patient from the other day. Antonio asks her why; she is so concerned about him. Gina says she feels sorry for him, because he has been through so much, and he has missed so much of his life. She adds (to herself) and he reminds her of her father. She, however, knows she cannot tell Antonio that, no matter how much she wants to end the lies.

Meanwhile at the Montes De Alba mansion,

Aranza is in the kitchen. She has just finished a glass of juice and is now eating, a pancake. Helena enters and finds her. She asks her, where she is going. Aranza says she is going to meet Aurelio and then they go to meet Adrianna and Hector. Helena is annoyed that, Aranza is going to meet Aurelio. She tells him that Aurelio is bad for her and he is trouble. Aranza rolls her eyes and says Aurelio, is intelligent and has always treated her respectfully.

Helena says that because of Aurelio, they have tension with Flavio Basanez, one of their main partners. Aranza gets irritated, and says she(Helena) is more concerned with Mauricio, and his father's connections and has forgotten the fact that Mauricio and his friends drugged her and would have raped her, had Aurelio, not rescued her. Helena says she should not be dramatic, and that Mauricio and his friends were drunk and were not serious.

Meanwhile with Antonio and Gina,

Antonio asks Gina if there's anything she needs to tell him. She asks him what he means. He says she has been acting a little off since Mr. Montes De Alba's death anniversary and this increased when they ran into John. Gina turns and says the memorial made her emotional and reminded her of her father. Antonio asks her about John. She says the timeline of his ordeal, is more or less similar to the timeline of her father's death, and she feels closer to him helping John. She then turns back to face Antonio. Antonio says he understands the feeling because even though, his mother died when he was young, and he can barely remember her, he misses her. Gina tries to walk away. She does not like to talk about her father. It pains too much to remember the painful death he must have had because of Helena and Carlos.

The fact that Antonio is Carlos's son complicates things even more. Antonio holds her hand and says there is something she hasn't told him. Gina asks him what he is talking about. He shows her the pictures on his phone. Gina sighs and says (to herself) that Isabella and Marianna were behind the picture. Gina says that the person in the picture is one of the nurses who was on duty the day, they ran into John, and they ran into him at the mall. Antonio asks her what they talked about. She says they talked about John's medical history. Gina tells Antonio what Roberto told her about John. He is quite surprised as well. She says that if she can do something, to help him, she wants to.

Sometime later,

Adrianna hears a knock on the door, it's Aranza and Aurelio. Once in, Aranza goes and hugs Adrianna. Adrianna looks at Aurelio questioningly. He indicates that he has no idea. Hector, comes and asks Aranza what's wrong. She says she argued with her mother. Adrianna, asks her why. Aranza says her mother scolded her because she blamed Aurelio for Mauricio being in jail. Aranza says her mother was more worried about how Mauricio being in jail might affect, her and Carlos' relationship with their business partner than she was about the fact Mauricio and his friends drugged her and were going to rape her. Hector and Adrianna hug her.

Sometime later, Emma and Martin arrive at Hector's friend's house. Aranza and Hector, as they do, on most Saturdays, go to take pictures first. Martin, Emma, Aurelio, and Adrianna, leave for Clara, Ramon, and Anna Patricia's house for the day. Antonio and Gina are there as well. Clara and Luisa want to hear everything, and so Gina repeats the story.

Meanwhile, Isabella and Claudia, meet at an upscale restaurant. Isabella's family and the Diaz's have been friends for years. They talk and then get down to business. Claudia says she has met Gina Ortiz and does not think she is suitable for her grandson. Claudia asks Isabela if she still loves Antonio. Isabella says she does but, he hasn't paid any attention to her since he first met Gina, nearly six months ago. Isabella adds that Antonio would have taken her back, hadn't Gina come onto the scene. Claudia asks her what she is planning to do to remedy the situation. Isabella wonders whether she should tell her the truth, and if so, how much she should tell. Claudia senses that Isabella has plans to separate Gina and Antonio from her quietness.

Meanwhile, Clara tells Gina to help that poor man, remember as much as he can, because it's the right thing to do. Gina just wants to convince her brother to come with her, because she wants him to see how much John resembles their father. She, however, knows that convincing her brother will not be easy.

Meanwhile, Hector looks at Aranza as she checks, through some of the pictures she has taken. How could Helena be so cold? He says (to himself), only a heartless woman would not put her daughter first, in such a situation, as the traumatic one Aranza suffered earlier.

Meanwhile, Isabella says Antonio is very intelligent, and tempting him won't be a walk in the park. Claudia says she knows her grandson can be quite difficult. She adds that Isabella should get pregnant because if she does, Gina will want nothing to do with him and Antonio will have no choice to marry her (Isabella). Looking at Isabella, Claudia can tell that Isabella, had similar thoughts and leanings. After some prodding, Isabella finally reveals her plans (sort of). She tells Claudia, that she plans to drug Antonio and have his child when he goes with his, friends and colleagues to a bar, the next weekend to watch some games. Claudia says she has no problem as long as what she (Isabella) uses, does not hurt Antonio. Isabella assures her, she would never hurt Antonio.

After Hector and Aranza are done, they join the rest, at Clara and Ramon's house. Gina wants to talk to him, and get him to agree to go with her to visit John. She asks Hector if they can talk outside. He looks at her for a few seconds but follows her.

Meanwhile, at the mental institution, John's case continues to puzzle the team. He has gained touch with reality remarkably quickly. He is now more aware of his surroundings and his ability to retain information is much better. He even remembers a few names of staff and a few fellow patients. He however still cannot remember his name or that of anyone he knew from his previous life.

Meanwhile, Juan Patricio and Carlos are at one of their depo's for the illegal merchandise, with a few of their people. They are going over some papers and inspecting the merchandise.

Meanwhile, Marianna is at her house.

She hears someone knock on the door. It is Alejandro. She welcomes him in. Alejandro tells Marianna that he cannot stand to see Adrianna and Hector together, one second longer. Marianna says she understands him because she feels the same. She adds that even then, she does not understand how that directly concerns her. He says that they have common goals, to separate Adrianna and Hector, and it is better to be safe than sorry. He adds that they should get on with the plans, of her getting pregnant if they are to succeed in their plans. Marianna asks him when, and he says the sooner, the better. They then begin kissing and roll onto the couch.

Back with Gina and Hector,

Gina has just finished telling Hector, John's story. She adds that she would like him (Hector) to accompany her even once to visit John. Hector is unsure about the whole idea, but Gina pleads and convinces him to accompany her to visit John.

Meanwhile, Isabella tries to call them, but Alejandro's phone is on silent, and Marianna's is off, charging. Frustrated, she tries to call Horacio. She finds him. She asks him if he knows where Marianna and Alejandro are. He says he hasn't talked to either of them that day.

Meanwhile, Aranza asks Gina when she is going with Hector to the mental institution. Gina says they are going on Tuesday. When a few hours later, Isabella, still can't find Marianna or Alejandro she goes in search of Horacio at his house. Horacio meanwhile, is about to leave for the bar when she arrives there. Isabella tells him about her talk with Antonio's grandmother. She then says that they should speed things up. Horacio agrees. It is convenient for both of them. Horacio leads her towards his room, and they begin, to kiss as they fall onto the bed.

Monday dawns bright and early. Aranza wakes up early. She groans and complains about the assignment, she has to hand in that day. Flavio is ready to bail out his son, Mauricio, out of prison. He calls Helena and tells her to talk to Aranza, and use whatever means to get her to drop the charges.

Meanwhile, at the mental institution, John is in his room. Yet again he has the same flashback, of the 5-year-old child, with his mother, but this time, she is helping him get ready for school. He looks around and says that the butterfly is around.
