Back at the police station,
The police officer stares at the lady in his office. She looks at him and says that she doesn't understand why he asked her to follow him. She eyes him half suspiciously. The officer asks her if she knows regency bar and restaurant. The lady says that she works there. The officer says no wonder she looks familiar. The lady asks him if he was asking about the bar because of an investigation. The officer says not really.
He says that he has been there several times, mostly during his free time. The lady then looks at him and says that he must be busy and she wants to leave the station as soon as she can. The officer looks at her half concerned, half suspiciously, and asks her if she is in danger or not. The lady looks at him and said not for the moment. She then reaches into her bag and retrieves a phone. She hands it out to the officer. He takes it and asks her why she came to the police station with the phone.
The lady said that somebody got killed and the phone is connected to that and she doesn't want to put herself or her family in danger. The officer asks her where she found the phone. The lady says that she found it while cleaning the bar last week, and a customer probably left it there. He asks her if someone has come to ask about a missing phone. The lady says that she hasn't heard of anyone asking about their phone.
She adds that the owner was probably drunk and can't even remember where they left their phone. The officer says that it was likely. He then hands her back the phone. The lady scowls at the officer and says as she said earlier she doesn't want anything to do with the phone. The officer says that he wants her to show him where the evidence is. The lady says oh, and takes the phone.
At Martin's house,
Marianna is up and about. She is wiping utensils in the kitchen when there is a knock on the door. She sighs and says that she is coming. She goes and stands near the door. She asks who it is. Her grandfather calls her princess and says that it was him. She runs a hand through her hair and sighs. She then opens the door and lets her grandfather in. He hugs her. She then takes him to the sitting room. She asks him if he wants something. He says that a glass of juice and some bitings would be fine.
Marianna goes to the kitchen and removes juice from the fridge. Her grandfather follows her. She frowns as she gets a cup and a plate. She tells him that he should take it easy as she serves him. She then takes removes two sandwiches from a serving dish, places them on the plate, and places them in a microwave. Santiago tells Marianna that he is fine. He says that he just wanted to come and spend time with her and talk with her. Marianna asks him if there was anything in particular that he wanted to discuss.
Santiago shrugs and says that he wanted to see how she was. Marianna looks at her grandfather and calling him grandpa asks him what he is upto. She then removes the sandwiches and pours juice into a glass. Santiago says that he met Thiago's mentor when Renata took him to the hospital. Marianna says that Octavio is very nice. Santiago says that he is doing nice work with the young boys and it was also nice of him to come to her aid, the other day in the hospital. Marianna agrees.
She then tells herself that she can tell that her grandfather is going somewhere with all the talk about Octavio but she can't quite tell where. Santiago asks her if she thinks that Octavio is a nice person and a good catch. Marianna says that he is. She then tells her grandfather that she doesn't understand what he is trying to get at. Santiago asks Marianna what she would think about the doctor and Renata as a couple. Marianna looks at her grandfather like he is crazy.
Back at the police station,
The officer is shocked. This was it, the evidence he had been waiting for, to nail, Isabella, Horacio, and Alejandro. The lady asks the officer who Emma is. The officer stands, peruses through files, and picks out one. He opens it and shows the lady a picture of Emma. He asks her if she knows Emma. She says that she doesn't but there is a picture of Emma on the phone. The officer asks the lady if she would be able to identify, the phone's owner if she saw him.
She thinks about it for several seconds then says she doesn't think so. She adds that sometimes, they are so busy, noting people's faces is impossible. The officer looks at the lady. She asks him if she is in trouble. He asks her why she thinks that she would be in trouble. She shrugs and says that she took a lost phone and was going to keep it until she found the murder plan. The officer says that she isn't in trouble but she should be careful about handling lost or stolen items. He adds that the ones in trouble are the ones in the audio.
Back at Martin's house,
Santiago looks at Marianna amused. He asks her why she would be so shocked. Marianna folds her hands and asks her grandfather what he is upto. Santiago says he isn't upto anything. Marianna gives him an- I -don't- believe- you -look. He smiles. He says that he understands Renata's reluctance to get into another relationship after being in one with Tomas but she shouldn't let a good chance go.
Marianna says that she agrees but Renata won't listen. Santiago says that they can team up and do something about that. Marianna looks at her grandfather shocked. She says that it's so hard to believe that he wants them to open up her cousin to the idea of falling in love again. Santiago says that he doesn't see why not. Marianna sighs.
A week and some days pass during which Hernan takes over as head of the company. His sisters, Gabriela and Aranza, as well as Adrianna, Antonio, Aurelio, and Martin, are there to help him. Despite Gabriel's initial decision to step back from company operations, he doesn't step back. Gabriel meets up with Martin and other people to discuss how to improve the company's corporate social responsibility as well as how to ensure smooth usage of the money set aside to help the families of the victims.
On a Thursday,
Hernan is sitting in this new office. It was the office that used to be Helena's. He sighs. It had been a long day. He sighs. Instinctively, he picks up his phone and calls Adrianna. He can't get through to her. Her phone seems to be off. He tries again but still nothing.
A few hours later,
Aranza is at the hotel where her father is staying. She is having dinner with him. She asks him if she is in trouble. He asks her why she would think that. Aranza shrugs and says that maybe Hernan and Gabriela have said something. Gabriel says that she isn't in trouble. Aranza asks her father what he wants them to talk about. Gabriel says that he wants them to talk about her and how she is. Aranza says that she is fine. Gabriel gives her an- I- don't- believe- you- look. She then asks her father if Hernan talked to him. Gabriel asks her what Hernan has to do with anything.
Aranza says that she talked to Aurelio, who she now believes talked to Hernan. Gabriel says that they all love her and they want the best for her. Aranza frowns. She says that they are all treating her like a baby and overreacting. Gabriel insists that it is not overreaction but worry. He adds that they are all concerned over how the revelations about her mother are affecting her and will continue to affect her. Aranza shrugs, she says that she doesn't care about someone who never loved her. Gabriel stretches out his hands and holds his daughter's hands. He tells her that she is loved and that she is a good person. Aranza tells her father that people often take after their parents and have similar habits to them.
Gabriel reminds her that she is also his daughter and that she is a lot like him. Aranza says that she is also her mother's daughter, and she could have inherited some of her habits and characteristics. Gabriel tells her that her mother made wrong decisions and hurt a lot of people but she (Aranza) is nothing like her. He adds that she is not part of her mother's crimes and she shouldn't have to feel like she was part of committing them. Aranza wipes a few tears that were threatening to fall from her face. Gabriel stands and goes and sits near her. He hugs her and reminds her that he loves her and her siblings more than anything else.
Elsewhere,
At Martin's house,
Marianna is in the sitting room with Dianna. She has just brought their dinner and Dianna has refused to eat. Marianna asks her why she won't eat. Dianna says that she wants to eat by herself. She then looks at Marianna and calling her mummy, tells her that she can feed herself. She then starts eating. Marianna smiles back at her daughter and says that she loves feeding her.
Dianna stops eating and looks at her mother. She says that Thiago said that she should feed herself because she is not a baby. Marianna says to herself that her crazy nephew had to be involved. Dianna then asks Marianna where her father (as she now called Martin) was. Marianna doesn't know what to say. Where was Martin anyway? He usually tried to be back early as often as he could on weekdays to spend time with Dianna. Marianna looks at Dianna, who is eagerly waiting for an answer.
Marianna gently rubs her daughter's forehead and tells her that he is a little busy but he is about to come back soon. Just then there is a knock on the door. Dianna shouts daddy's back and rushes to open the door. Marianna follows Dianna and tells her not to open the door. Marianna holds Dianna's hand and opens the door. She is surprised to see Martin holding Gisela Paulina's hand.
Once Gisela is in, Dianna takes her by the hand and tells her that they should go see her toys. Martin calls Dianna and tells her that she forgot to greet him. Dianna lets go of Gisela's hand and runs and hugs Martin. Marianna walks over to Gisela and greets and hugs her. She then reminds Dianna that she was eating dinner. Marianna looks at Gisela and asks her if she wants something to eat. Gisela happily says that she does.
Elsewhere,
At Gabriela and Antonio's house,
Gabriela is in the kitchen with both Ricardo and Hannibal, when there is a knock on the door. Ricardo runs off towards the door and she follows him. Hannibal follows them quietly. Expecting it to be Antonio, she opens the door. She's however shocked to see Hernan standing there. She ushers her brother in. After greeting, Hernan, Ricardo, and Hannibal begin walking towards the dining room. He asks her if Antonio is around. Gabriela says that Antonio went to visit a sick friend.
She then looks him over and says that he doesn't look so well. Hernan sighs and says that it has been a very bad evening. Gabriela clasps her hands and worriedly asks him what happened. The children sit and begin eating the cookies and milk that Gabriela gave them. Gabriela meanwhile looks at her brother and asks him to tell her what happened. Hernan sighs and says that Adrianna left. Gabriela looks at Hernan shocked. She asks him if they fought. Hernan says that he can't recall any fight. Gabriela asks him what about Gisela. Hernan says that Martin took her to his house.
Gabriela says that nothing makes sense because Adrianna loves her daughter and wouldn't just disappear and not call to check on her. Hernan says that is what worries him. He says that he doesn't know what to think. Gabriela asks Hernan how Adrianna took the news about the foul play in her parents' deaths. Hernan says that she took it very badly and has been very down since then. Hernan asks Gabriela if she thinks Adrianna's disappearance has anything to do with that issue. Gabriela says that she is not sure but it could be possible. Hernan says that either way, not knowing is killing him.
Sometime later,
At Martin's house,
Martin and Marianna are in their room. He apologises for bringing Gisela to the house without telling her. Marianna says that isn't a problem. She asks him if something serious has happened. He folds his hands and looks at her but says nothing. Marianna moves closer to Martin and places one of her hands on his cheek. She asks him what happened to Hernan and Adrianna and why Gisela is there. Martin takes a deep breath and says that Adrianna is missing. Marianna is shocked. She asks him if he knows what happened. Martin says that Hernan called him worried because he couldn't trace Adrianna.
He also says that they decided to keep things quiet in case it wasn't anything important to avoid worrying people unnecessarily. He says that they still don't have any idea where Adrianna is. Marianna asks where Hernan is. Martin says that he went to Gabriela. Marianna says that it's all so strange. She asks Martin if he thinks Hernan and Adrianna fought. Martin says that he knows his cousin well enough to know that he isn't temperamental or argumentative and he doesn't think Adrianna is that way either. He then adds that Adrianna loves her daughter and wouldn't just leave without a trace and leave Gisela behind.
Marianna says that she can only think of two reasons to explain Adrianna's disappearance. Martin asks her what they are. Marianna says that the first one is that Alejandro has something to do with it. Martin frowns a little then asks her what she thinks the second reason is. Marianna says that she needed some time to process that her aunt killed her parents and used her to steal and kill some more. Martin says that he doesn't understand why it has taken some time for Adrianna to react to the revelations. Marianna shrugs and says that people deal with grief and sadness in different manners.
Back at Antonio and Gabriela's house,
Gabriela and Hernan are sitting in the dining room. She asks him, what he will do. Hernan shrugs and says that there's not much that he can do, given that it's only been a few hours but the next day that's all he will focus on. He adds that he has to go to his house and rest. Gabriela frowns at him. She paces around and then turns to face her brother. Hernan folds his hands and asks her what mischief she is upto. Gabriela glares at him then says that she thinks that he should sleep there and then go to his house the next day. Hernan looks at his sister then says that he will be fine.
Gabriela says that it will be better for him to stay at her house and then deal with everything the next day. Hernan tells Gabriela that he can take care of himself. Gabriela says that she doesn't doubt that. He says that she should then stop treating him like a child. Gabriela frowns. She adds that she is not babying him around. She also adds that she is being a concerned sister. Hernan insists that he will be fine and can take care of himself. Gabriela glares at her brother. He can be so stubborn. She asks him why he is refusing her help and support. He glares at her but says nothing.
