EPISODE 97

A week later,

It is on a Thursday and, sometime after Anna Patricia, Hector and Gina have visited John, and he is in his room. He has a vision of the young mother with her son, but this time they are in a park. She calls the child Gabriel and scolds him for throwing a tantrum in the park. John asks himself why she looks so much like Gina and why her father, the child's grandfather looks so much like Hector. He asks himself how he is connected to the child or the woman that looks like Gina. He says that he has to ask Hector and Gina questions because they have a lot to explain.

Sometime later, at Aurelio's house, Aranza is in the bedroom, she is standing on the bed, and the cupboards are all open. She looks at the boxes, and papers with her hands on her hips. She tells herself that, the place needed an overhaul and needed to be arranged. Just then, Aurelio comes in and looks at her suspiciously. He asks her what she is up to. She pouts and says that she is a good girl who isn't up to anything.

She adds that she just felt that they needed to arrange the upper cupboards because they just pile up more stuff and they haven't checked, up there or arranged, it in months. Aurelio makes a face and Aranza knows that he isn't too keen on the idea. She smiles and says that she will do it and he doesn't have to worry about it. He says that if she wants to do it, he has no problem.

Meanwhile, Gina is in the sitting room playing with her son. She looks at him and says (to herself) that all she does is for him. She says that she and her brother will get back the company their great grandfather worked hard for and that he (Hannibal) and his cousin (Gisela Paulina) will have it back and they will run it in the future.

Just then Horacio comes in. She completely ignores him even when he tries to make small talk. She tries to leave but he holds her hand. He tells her not to forget her duties. She says that she hasn't forgotten since he reminds her constantly. She adds that what they have is a farce, not a marriage, and since they are in private, pretenses aren't necessary. She then carries her son and leaves.

Elsewhere, at Martin's house,

He is trying to read a book, but it might as well be pointless because his mind isn't there. It had been months since Emma died, and her death and that of his child still pained and hurt him a lot. He hadn't been able to move on and fall in love yet. He couldn't imagine falling in love; he couldn't imagine anyone replacing her. Would he be able to find love again, would he be able to find happiness, and with who? He feels frustrated because it has been months, and there has been no evidence or clue pointing at anyone, or that could explain why anyone would want her dead. One thing was clear to him, this was no ordinary crime.

Elsewhere at Ramon and Clara's,

Clara and Anna Patricia are in the living room talking. Anna Patricia confides in her mother and says that she doesn't know what to do about Martin. She adds that she has tried to do everything she can to help him but it doesn't seem to be enough, because he has lost his former zest for life. She adds that it pains her to see her son so broken.

Clara tells her that people grieve differently, and for Martin, it is to retreat even further into his shell and to become more of a workaholic. She adds that time is the best healer and that it will never stop being painful, but the pain will only get easier with time. Clara adds that all they can do is to continue being there for him. She adds that as impossible as it seems, Martin will find love again and he will be happy. Clara then hugs her daughter.

Elsewhere,

Antonio is taking a walk in the park. He needed to think and clear his head. Living with Isabella drove him crazy. He sits on a bench. No matter how much he tries not to, he still thinks about Gina. In the past nearly three years, he hasn't forgotten her. He still loved her.

On Saturday, morning,

Hector, Gina, and Anna Patricia go to visit John, as they often do. That day is however not going to be an ordinary one. They find him in a more serious mood than usual. Gina is worried about him and asks him if he is okay. He says that he is. He says that he was just thinking about the visions he has. Anna Patricia asks him if there was anything, else that was different this time. John says that the lady called her son Gabriel, and scolded him for throwing tantrums. Gina, Anna Patricia, and Hector look at each other in a manner that was halfway between fear and shock. They were caught off guard.

John notes their reaction. He says to himself that he finds their reaction quite strange. Hector manages to pull himself together quickly and asks him if he knows who the child, Gabriel is. John looks at each of them and then says he doesn't and he would like to know how he is connected to that child, why the child's mother, looks like her (Gina) and why the child's grandfather looks like him (Hector). Gina asks herself just how much memory her father, has regained, and how much he is telling them.

Meanwhile, at Aranza and Aurelio's house,

Aranza is in the bedroom, surrounded by boxes, and papers. She finally got to cleaning out the cupboards. So far it has been boxes and boxes of papers. In one particular one, she finds a letter and tape. She gasps. She asks herself what a letter from Emma could possibly be doing at the house, and what is in the tape. She says that she will first finish arranging the things and then she will come back and go through the letter, and tape. Aranza then carries the tape and letter, in their original box and puts them among her things. She then goes back to arranging.

Meanwhile, Marianna is jogging in the park, when she sees Martin. He is sitting on a bench, drinking a bottle of water. He looks like he has been jogging for a while. She momentarily stares at him, (before he sees her) then starts walking off. Unfortunately (or not) for her he puts the bottle down and turns around and sees her. She isn't too far, so he greets her while calling her a witch. Marianna turns around and glares at him. She walks back to him and tells him that it doesn't matter what he thinks because she will remain with Hector forever. Marianna taunts Martin and says that compared to his cousins he is irrelevant, boring, unattractive, and is probably a bad lover.

Martin glares at her then grabs a hold of her. Marianna looks at him and says that she isn't scared of him and can defend herself. She adds that she is tired of him bullying her and calling her a witch. She then tries to struggle free. Martin however doesn't let her go. Marianna tells him to leave her alone. Martin says he will, and adds that he wants nothing to do with her. He adds that before he leaves her, he will do one thing. Marianna asks him what he means. Martin looks at her but doesn't answer her. He then kisses her. Marianna at first tries to push him away, but soon enough finds herself responding to him, and kissing him back.

Back at the mental hospital,

Dr.Alves is sitting in his office, going over John's case. As he has been doing a lot lately, he questions just what the relation between John, Hector, and Gina is. He says that initially, he thought that they bonded and grew closer as Hector and Gina visited John, but he had for a long time suspected that their relationship ran deeper. He then asks himself if John could be the father to one of them and an uncle to the other. He says that he hasn't ever seen anything like that before.

Meanwhile, John is in his room. It is sometime after Hector, Gina, and Anna Patricia, have left. He is sure, that there is something they are not telling him, but what? He says that he feels like they might have an idea of who he really was.

Back at the park,

Martin pulls away from Marianna and smirks at her. He then cheekily asks her if her opinion about him has changed. Marianna glares at him. Martin folds his hands and smirks at her again. He tells her that, calling her a witch, isn't an insult, because she is dark-hearted and utterly evil. He says that for her that is a compliment. Marianna tells him that he is very rude and is just bitter because he wants her. Martin says she is crazier than he thought. He adds that he is just telling it as it is and calling her what she is. He said he doesn't go for trashy bimbos.

Marianna tries to beat him but he holds her hands. He smirks and asks her if she wants him to kiss her again. Marianna struggles but he doesn't let her go yet. Martin kisses her again. Just as before Marianna is unable to resist him for long. She quickly finds herself responding and kisses him back. After a little while, Martin reluctantly lets go of Marianna and smirks at her again. She glares at him. They stare at each other and a moment passes. Martin tells her that he will see her around. Marianna tells him that he is an idiot and stomps off. Martin smiles.

Later on at night,

Aranza and Aurelio are at their house. They are getting ready to watch a movie when Aranza asks Aurelio about the note and tape, from Emma that she found when she was arranging the bedroom. Aurelio is shocked because he had no idea. He asks Aranza if she knew anything. Aranza says she had no idea about it either. She says that Emma was there so often with Adrianna and Gina and probably left it before her death.

Aurelio says that they should give it to the police. Aranza asks him why. Aurelio says that he finds it suspicious that Emma left the papers in their house, and not anywhere else. He adds that it was like she was trying to make sure, that it was safe and didn't land in the wrong hands. He also says that she probably knew that no one would suspect them.

Meanwhile,

Gina and Hector are in Gina and Horacio's house. Horacio wasn't around. They are in the study. Hector asks her why she looks so worried. Gina tells Hector that their father suspects something and that is why he is asking questions. She says that they should start working out a plan to tell him the truth because she is exhausted after years of hiding their identities. She also adds that it is a struggle not telling their father the truth because she was never good at keeping secrets from him anyway.

Hector smiles and says that she was always the loud-mouthed one. Gina pokes her brother's arm and tells him to be serious. She tells him that their father was on the verge, of recovering his memory. Hector asks her why he hasn't told them anything if he had remembered. He adds that it would have been easier to just come out and ask them straight away. Gina says, their father and Aranza are quite alike, and they love mind games.

Back at Aranza and Aurelio's,

Aranza has gotten the package with the letter and tape and shows it to Aurelio. She then says that they should first find out what it says. Aurelio disagrees and says that they should give it to the police. Aranza says that she just wants to know what is in the paper and audio. She adds that the information could be personal and not necessarily related to her death. Aurelio is still unsure, about the whole thing. Aranza says that it will help Martin and Emma's family in the whole process of moving on. Aurelio knows how determined and stubborn Aranza can be when she has set her mind to something, and he is a bit curious anyway.

He says that they can take a peek, but they have to hand the papers over after. Aranza agrees and they open the letter. It isn't that long. They begin reading. The letter talks about the day, Emma was at the club with Martin and she accidentally learnt what Isabella and company had done, from a drunken reveler. She narrates, what the man told her. Aranza is shocked beyond words. How could people be so evil? Aurelio hugs her then asks her if she is ready to hear the tape. She says that she is.

Meanwhile back at Horacio and Gina's house,

Hector tells Gina that what she is suggesting is crazy. He says that if their father knew who they were he would have told them. Gina says that she doesn't think, that he remembers, that much, but he is heading there. Hector asks Gina if she is jealous because Aranza is more like their father than her. Gina glares at her brother. She asks him why she would be jealous. Hector shrugs his shoulders, and says because she can be spoiled and a little brattish, and feel like she is entitled, to be their father's favorite child.

Gina tells Hector he is crazy. Hector tells Gina that she does love being the center of attention and the same way she got jealous and threw tantrums, because of him as a child, he knows that when everything comes out, she will try to hog the attention away from him and Aranza. Gina tells him that she was never jealous of him. She adds that it was him who was bossy, and a bit of a bully. Hector says that she conveniently forgot how she has always been obsessed with outshining him and showing that she was smarter or better. Gina glares at her brother.

At Marianna and Hector's house,

She is in the sitting room, carrying her daughter Diana (in reality Gisela Paulina, because the children were switched), and she remembers, earlier in the day when she ran into Martin, and they argued and then he kissed her twice. She calls him a bossy fool.

At Martin's house,

He is sitting on a chair and remembers kissing Marianna earlier in the day. What made him do it? He didn't even like her, or does he? Martin says out loud that he doesn't even like her as a person and he can't stand her.
