EPISODE 160

 

Back at the Montes De Alba Mansion,

Aurelio asks Aranza what Claudia wanted. Aranza says that she wanted to talk to the two of them. She adds that Claudia wanted them to agree on a date to meet. Aurelio asks her if she told her what she wanted them to meet about. Aranza says that she didn't. She adds that they will just have to know when they meet her. Anna Patricia comes into the room. She looks from Aranza to Aurelio and asks them what's going on. Aranza says that Claudia wants to talk to them. Anna Patricia asks them what Claudia wanted to talk to them about. Aranza says that she wouldn't say but only said that they should agree on a date. Anna Patricia says that it should be interesting to find out what Claudia wants. Aranza agrees.

Sometime later,

Gabriela is in her and Antonio's room. She has her phone and was quickly checking her mail when she sees something on her phone that scares her stiff and she stands frozen to the spot. She places a hand on her chest. She then closes her eyes for a few seconds. Just then Antonio comes into the room. When he sees her looking so scared, he gets worried. He quickly moves to her and asks her if she is okay. Gabriela sighs and shows him her phone. Antonio looks at it. He reads it.

Meanwhile at Martin's house,

Marianna is in the kitchen. She has served herself a glass of juice and made herself a sandwich. She takes a bite out of her sandwich and sips the glass of juice. It has been a very long day. The realization that she is pregnant is still fresh on her mind. She runs a hand through her hair. She then takes in a deep breath. She says to herself that her life just keeps on getting more complicated. She wipes away some tears. She takes another sip of her juice. She hears her name being called and turns. It's Martin. He walks over to her. Marianna takes another bite out of her sandwich and a sip of her glass of juice. Martin notices that she seems to be avoiding looking at him.

He places a finger under her chin and she looks up at him. Her face is moist. She had been crying. Martin asks her if she feels well. Marianna says that she is fine. Martin asks her to trust him. He says that he has noticed that there is something a bit off with her that day. He adds that she looks stressed and sad. Marianna insists that she is okay. Martin asks her why she had been crying. Marianna says that she hadn't been crying. She tries to leave but Martin blocks her way. She looks up at him. A moment passes between them. Martin leans in and kisses her. Marianna kisses him back. After a little while, Marianna moves away from Martin.

Back at Antonio and Gabriela's,

Gabriela rhetorically asks when Horacio will leave them to live their lives in peace. Antonio puts his arms around her to calm her down. He then asks her if there was anything else. Gabriela says that she saw something like an audio or video attachment but she hasn't opened it. He asks her for her phone. Gabriela gives it to him. Antonio downloads the video. As expected, it is from Horacio.

It is a short nearly two-minute clip in which Horacio, tells Gabriela that even if he is far away he will always be thinking of her. He says that he has and will always love her. He says that he will never let her go. He adds that he will come back for her. Gabriela sighs. Antonio says that the next day, he will go and see to it that the location from which the video was sent can be tracked so that they can find out where Horacio, Isabella, and Alejandro are. Gabriela says that she hopes so because those three are psychotic killers.

Back at Martin's house,

Marianna doesn't try to run away but just stands still. Martin looks at her but doesn't move near her. He asks her if Alejandro has tried contacting her. Marianna says that he hasn't. Martin is very doubtful about that. What else would get her so upset? She looks at him and assures him that Alejandro has not called her. He says that it was the first thing that came to his mind because he doesn't know what else or who else could get her so upset. Marianna sighs and tells him not to mind her. Martin moves near her but doesn't touch her. He says that he cannot stop caring about or worrying about her because he loves her. Marianna paces around and then runs a hand through her hair. She tries to leave but can't because Martin won't let her.

Marianna wipes away a few loose tears and then looks at Martin. She is afraid. Afraid, of how he will react when she tells him she is pregnant. Afraid of being away from Dianna when she is sentenced. Afraid of how her pregnancy will be and where she will be when she gives birth. Afraid of giving Martin a lot of responsibilities while she serves her sentence. The emotions she has been fighting so hard to control and keep under wraps are finally unleashed. All her fears and worries are unleashed in form of tears, as she has reached that breaking point. Martin wraps his arms around her and lets her cry into his shoulders. He doesn't say a word but just lets her cry.

Days pass during which Antonio, goes to the police looking for Isabella and the rest. The message and audio weren't sent from Horacio's phone but a cyber. The police, however, narrow their search and focus on the town.

The next Wednesday,

Alejandro and Isabella have just learnt that Horacio sent an email and video to Gabriela. They are of course not pleased and an argument ensues. Isabella tells Horacio that it was very foolish of him to risk everything just so that he can send a message to Gabriela. Horacio reminds Isabella that some time ago, they had agreed that they were going to make those who were against them pay. He adds that they cannot let them live in peace.

Isabella agrees and says that they have to be smart about how they do things now that evidence linking them to Emma's murder is out there. Horacio says that being smart does not mean doing nothing. Isabella says it is precisely because the evidence is out there that they have to continue lying low. She adds that because of his foolishness, the police are zooming in on their location. Alejandro is, however, the only reasonable one and moves to cool things down. He tells Horacio and Isabella that arguing works against their good and increases the chances of them being caught.

Later that day,

At Martin's house,

Renata passes by to check on Marianna, on her way to run some errands. As she has been doing often since Marianna found out about her pregnancy, Renata tells her that she can take some more time but she should tell Martin about it. Marianna says that she knows she should but she is scared. She says that she has so many fears, especially not knowing whether she will be free when she gives birth. Renata tells her that is exactly why she should tell Martin as soon as possible. She adds that she will need his support. 

Renata also tells Marianna that with Martin's support, she will have an easier pregnancy. Marianna sighs and says that she will take a bit more time as she gathers courage. Renata tells her that it shouldn't be too long because symptoms show and Martin will start to suspect something is going on. She adds that he will be hurt and might even get mad if he finds out from someone else. Marianna sighs, and says that she is so afraid. Renata hugs her. 

Elsewhere at Montes De Alba Inc.,

Martin is sitting alone in a corner, quietly eating lunch. Adrianna and Gabriela walk past with their trays when Adrianna points out Martin to Gabriela. She looks at him and can see how low he looks. Gabriela suggests that they should see what is going on with Martin and Adrianna agrees. Martin looks around and slightly frowns when he sees Adrianna and Gabriela approaching him. His cousin is nosy and will start asking questions he couldn't answer because he had no answers. When they reach, Adrianna asks him if they can sit. Martin says it's okay.

Gabriela asks Martin if he is okay. He shrugs and says that he is fine. 

She narrows her eyes and stares at him in an I- don't -believe- you manner. Despite how he feels, Martin manages a smile. Adrianna says she knows that they are nosy but, they love him and, they mean well. Martin insists that he is okay. Adrianna asks him if Dianna is doing well. Martin says she has been adjusting to everything very well. Gabriela asks how Marianna is doing. Martin hesitates a little then says that she is okay. Adrianna says the hesitation and the way he said Marianna was okay, was very unconvincing and made them believe otherwise.

Martin insists that Marianna is okay. Gabriela sighs and asks if they fought or if she feels unwell. Martin asks himself if Marianna's changes are because she is sick and if she would tell him if she wasn't feeling well. Gabriela calls him and, he comes back to the present. He calls her grandmother junior and answers yes. Gabriela frowns and, Adrianna smiles. Gabriela then says that she and Adrianna are serious and, they are worried about him. Martin sighs and says that Marianna has been a little different of late but she's probably okay. Adrianna asks him what he means by different.

Elsewhere,

Helena and Carlos are in their secret hiding place, under disguise. Carlos has unfolded a newspaper, they bought while in town. He peruses through it and a particular article catches his eye. Helena sees him concentrating on it. She asks him about it. Carlos says that Gabriel and Anna Patricia are engaged and will be married within that month. He adds that they also adopted Ricardo. Helena frowns and says it doesn't matter because their joy and happiness won't last forever. Carlos asks her what they can do when they can't even move around freely.

Helena shrugs and says to herself that she will never rest and she will always continue her goals of making sure the twins are never happy. Carlos tells Helena to use her energies to figure out a way for them to escape into freedom and not waste it on trying to hurt the twins. Helena says that everything goes back to the twins. She adds that if the twins hadn't come back the police wouldn't have started poking their noses in the twin's cases or Gabriel's accident. Carlos says it does, but it is far more important for them to escape than to plot revenge.

Back at Montes De Alba Inc.,

Martin says that she is emotional, cries easily, her appetite has increased and she looks like something is bothering her but she won't tell him what it is. Adrianna and Gabriela look at each other. Martin looks at both of them and asks them what is going on. Gabriela doesn't say anything and, Adrianna discreetly taps her with her arm. She then asks Martin is if there is anything else he has noticed.

Martin thinks about it for a few seconds and says that she occasionally looks a bit pale but otherwise he hasn't seen much else. Gabriela asks herself if Marianna is pregnant. Martin says that he has a feeling that something is going on, but she won't tell him and, he is worried. He adds that it could be a breakdown, given everything that has been happening but Marianna won't tell him anything, so he is not sure.

Some hours later,

Aurelio and Aranza have arrived at the Diaz mansion. They have been welcomed into the large and impressive, living room. They are waiting for Claudia. They are admiring one of the paintings when Claudia walks into the room. They all greet each other. They then follow Claudia's example and head over to the dining table. She looks at them and smiles. Claudia tells them that she is not an ogre, despite what Antonio may have told them. She tells them to serve. They all begin to serve. Claudia tells Aurelio and Aranza not to worry. She tells them that she will get to the reason why she wanted to meet them in a minute.

Meanwhile,

At Antonio's house,

Gabriela is there with Hannibal, Gisela, and Adrianna. The children are watching cartoons in the sitting room. Gabriela and Adrianna are in the kitchen, talking. They are close enough for them to monitor the children, through the open pigeon hole. They have two half-full packets of juice and two full glasses of juice. Gabriela says that they need to talk to Marianna as soon as possible. Adrianna says that Martin and Marianna's relationship is none of their business.

Gabriela says that's true but if Marianna is pregnant things change. Adrianna sips her glass of juice then asks Gabriela what she means. Gabriela says that so far, they have all given Martin his space and let him have a relationship with Marianna, even though it is awkward because of her past mistakes. She sips her glass of juice and adds that pregnancy changes everything especially if Marianna knows and she is keeping it from Martin.

Adrianna asks Gabriela why she thinks Marianna would keep her pregnancy a secret. Gabriela shrugs and says that she is not sure. A look of horror passes through Adrianna's face as she realizes something. She asks Gabriela if she thinks Marianna was considering an abortion. Gabriela frowns at the thought. She says that she hopes not. She says that Martin would never get over it or forgive Marianna if he knew. Adrianna adds that he wouldn't forgive them either. Gabriela says that she saw how her cousin was after Emma died while pregnant with their child and, she wouldn't want to see him in such a place again.

Back at Claudia's house,

Claudia, Aurelio, and Aranza have all served and started eating. Claudia tells Aurelio and Aranza that it is time she told them why she wanted to talk to them. She says that after everything that has happened, she has been thinking a lot about the future. She adds she is old and, it reaches a point one just does that. Aranza looks at her suspiciously and asks her if she is sick. She adds that she doesn't like keeping secrets from Antonio and doesn't want to be put in a tough spot. Aurelio shakes his head. Claudia assures them that she isn't sick. She says that she wanted to let them know of a decision she had made.

Aurelio asks her what she is talking about. Claudia says that she thought that it would be best if she gave them the house. Both Aurelio and Aranza are left speechless. Claudia wants to do what? She looks at them and smiles. She then shrugs and says that she is old and she wants the house passed down. Aurelio asks her what about Antonio. Claudia says that she doesn't think he will have a problem. 

She then adds that he bought a very good house and anyway she still has some more houses. Aranza says she doesn't know what to say. Claudia says that she has talked to Antonio severally since she came back and he is okay financially. She says such a house above everything else needs a remarkable woman to be its lady and run it. She also adds (to Aurelio) that he too is Juan Patricio's grandson and he can take it as part of his inheritance.

EPISODE 159

 

Meanwhile,

Octavio asks Marianna if Renata is single. Marianna is genuinely shocked. She says that her cousin is single. Octavio says that she must have had a bad experience with Thiago's father because she seems wary of accepting a second chance at love. Marianna is surprised he has noticed that. She asks him why he thinks that. Octavio says that as a doctor, one learns to be observant and to read people a lot.

Meanwhile, Gabriel has just arrived with the children. Everyone is curious as to where they have just come from. Surprisingly, none of the children says a word about where they went with Gabriel, no matter how much anyone asks.

Elsewhere,

At the prison,

Isabella, Horacio, and Alejandro are out in the prison yard together with their fellow prisoners. It is a sunny afternoon and it is their recreational hour. Alejandro looks around, then mentions an idea for escape he has heard during the transfer to a nearby prison.

A few hours later,

Everyone is surprised when Gabriel calls them to attention, saying that he has an announcement to make. They are even more surprised when he is followed by all four children (Dianna, Gisela, Hannibal, and Ricardo). Gabriela and Adrianna smile, they have since realized what is about to happen. Antonio asks them if there is something they both know. Gabriela tells him that he will know soon enough. Gabriel thanks everyone for coming and apologises for missing a significant part of the day.

He adds that it was however for a good reason, which he will get to in a minute. 

He says that after everything that happened to him and his children in the past, the fact that they are all well and alive and are getting back what was theirs is not something he takes for granted. He adds that after spending so many years sick, he is glad to be getting his life back. Everyone cheers to that. He says that first, he owes his eternal gratitude to his children, who never gave up on him, even when it seemed like he would never recover and he would never regain his sanity back.

He adds that he loves all of them and they are his greatest gift in life. 

Gabriela and Aranza wipe tears from their eyes. Hernan makes a face at both of them. Aranza frowns at him. Gabriel continues and says that because of twisted people he was unable to see his children grow up, but he will be a doting grandfather. He then turns to the four children and says that he loves all of them and he will treat them equally. He then asks Ricardo to come forward. The child quietly and shyly comes forward. Gabriel kneels and is at the child's eye level. He tells him that no one will ever take him away or hurt him because he will be there to protect him. 

Ricardo hugs him. Anna Patricia smiles and wipes away a tear. She could never be any happier. Gabriel then stands and asks Anna Patricia to join him. Everyone turns to look at her. Anna Patricia walks up and joins Gabriel on the raised stage. He smiles at her and gets down on one knee. There is a collective gasp of joy. Anna Patricia clasps her hands together for a second. Gabriel says that he loves her and she is an angel sent from heaven, who has been by his side through his recovery. He adds that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her and for them to raise Ricardo together. 

He then pulls out a box from his pocket and opens it. He asks her if she will marry him. There are shouts of say yes and claps. Anna Patricia wipes away tears and says yes as everyone claps. Dianna calls her grandma and both Gabriel and Anna Patricia turn to face her. She looks at Anna Patricia and tells her that she should be happy and not cry. There is laughter. Martin who is near Marianna whispers that Dianna has her sass. Marianna frowns at him and then smiles. Martin stretches out a hand and places it around Marianna's waist. They look into each other's eyes. Aranza watches them. She says to herself that Martin and Marianna do love each other.

Days later,

It is on a Wednesday, when Isabella, Alejandro, and Horacio are being transported to another jail facility. At this particular moment, they are on the same road, where Gabriel's accident occurred years earlier. 

Everything seems peaceful at first until someone throws up. The prison van is stopped to deal with the situation. Heavily armed men appear from the bushes and catch the wardens off-guard. The first thing they do is shoot at the car's tyres. They overwhelm the wardens and are quickly able to rescue all the prisoners. They then order the wardens to give up all their phones and walkie-talkies (at gunpoint).

Later at the end of the day,

At Antonio and Gabriela's house,

Gabriela is with Hannibal in the kitchen when she hears the bell ring. Hannibal shouts daddy and goes running to the door. Gabriela calls him and tells him to wait. She says to herself that it is definetly not Antonio because he has his keys. She holds Hannibal's hand as they walk to the door. She then opens the door and is shocked at who she sees. It is Claudia, Antonio's grandmother. Hannibal tugs free from Gabriela's hands and hugs Claudia. She smiles at him and greets Gabriela. Claudia looks around outside and then says that they should all get in.

Sometime later,

At Martin and Marianna's house,

Martin finds Marianna in the dining room. He knows that she is stressed because of Isabella, Horacio and Alejandro escaping. He sits near her. She barely acknowledges his presence. Martin takes one of her hands into his. Only then does she look at him. Martin asks her if she is thinking about Alejandro and the others escaping. Marianna nods.

She says that the three of them have proved that they are crazy and are capable of doing anything. She adds that they are all in danger. Martin wishes that he could do more to comfort her. As sad as it was, what she said is true. With Isabella, Horacio, and Alejandro free, they are all in danger. No one is safe. He says that they all just need to be a bit more careful.

At Antonio and Gabriela's house,

He has just arrived. The house is rather quiet. He can’t hear either Gabriela or Hannibal. Antonio gets a bit worried, especially after the news that Isabella, Horacio, and Alejandro had escaped. He says to himself, What if...? No. He quickly climbs up the stairs. He calls out to Gabriela. She tells him to come to Hannibal's room. Antonio walks to his son's room and opens the door. When he sees his grandmother, he is so shocked that whatever, he was about to say, evaporates from his mind.

Claudia smiles then glares at Antonio. She tells him to stop being rude and to stop staring. Antonio says that he is shocked, because he hasn't seen her for a long time, and she has just shown up casually like she has been away for two days. Claudia casually shrugs and says that there will be time for questioning. She adds that she knows that he has missed her just as she has missed him. She then tells him to come and hug her. Antonio smiles and then comes and hugs his grandmother.

Elsewhere,

At Hernan and Adrianna's house,

Adrianna comes back into her and Hernan's bedroom with a glass of juice. Hernan is sitting near the bed. He looks up at her. She takes a few sips and then places the bottle on the dressing table. She then comes and sits near him. Adrianna says that it just feels so frustrating that when it seemed like Isabella and her gang were finally going to be locked away for good, they escape and they are free to hurt everyone. Hernan says that they all have to be more careful but they can't stop living their lives either.

He says just like it seemed like evidence would never be found to prove Isabella and her friend's guiltiness but it was eventually found, this time will be no different. Hernan says that someone will make a mistake sooner or later. Adrianna says that she hopes it won't take years like it did last time. Hernan says that he too hopes it won't take long. He adds that with the evidence against Helena, Carlos, Juan Patricio, Isabella, Horacio, and Alejandro out there, they have things much harder. He says that they will be found.

A month and some days pass, during which Ricardo's custody trial happens. With Isabella and Horacio on the run and Gabriel having gotten his family's house back, things are easier for him and Anna Patricia. The results are positive. Anna Patricia and Gabriel get Ricardo's custody. Everyone is happy for them. They have a big party to celebrate with their family and friends. Also during this time, Renata and Octavio begin going out. At first, it is casual as friends. Marianna, Santiago, and Thiago are very happy about it. 

Two days after that party, on a Monday,

In the afternoon, at the Montes De Alba mansion,

Gabriel is in the back garden enjoying the sunny weather. The table is set out with bitings and juice. Anna Patricia comes and joins him. She reminds him that since they just set the wedding date recently, they should go forward with the planning. Gabriel frowns slightly. He says that he loves her but the idea of deciding the details of a wedding like colour patterns, cake flavors, and the like bores him to death. He also adds that the fanfare of it all is annoying. Anna Patricia says that she knows that he doesn't like big parties. She adds that she doesn't like them either.

Gabriel says that since they both agree on the same thing, there is no need for a lot of fanfare. He adds that they can do the whole ceremony at the mansion. Anna Patricia says they can do a small intimate reception ceremony at the mansion but she wants her father to walk her down a church aisle. She adds that she knows that it will make his day. Gabriel relents and says that if it’s to make her father happy, they can separate the wedding ceremony and reception and have a church wedding so her father can walk her down the aisle. Anna Patricia smiles. Gabriel tells her to ask his daughters for help in planning the wedding. He adds that he will show up on the day.

Elsewhere:

Isabella, Horacio, and Alejandro are all hiding in different hotels near the border, under disguise. Helena and Carlos and Juan Patricio (Juan Patricio is alone) are also hiding near the border. They know very well, that things are thick and that all points of entry and exit into the country are being monitored. They are buying their time until things cool off and they can make a run for it to freedom.

Another month later,

It is a Friday,

In the evening,

At Martin's house,

Renata is with Marianna and Dianna. Renata tells her cousin that it is time. Marianna says that she is scared. Renata says that she understands but the sooner she does the pregnancy test the better. Marianna says that her life is complicated enough without adding another child into the picture. Renata tells her to relax and first do the test. She adds that they will know what to do from there. Marianna tells Dianna to listen to her auntie and that she is coming back soon. Dianna says okay. Renata hands the unopened pregnancy test kit to Marianna. Marianna takes it and sighs and turns towards the bathroom.

Dianna faces her aunt and asks her what her mommy took. Renata runs her hand through her hair. She smiles to herself and says that Dianna will be Thiago 2.0 when she reaches his age (twelve). What does she say to the child? Renata looks at her niece and says that she gave her mother medicine because her stomach is aching. Dianna while calling Renata, auntie, asks her if her mother is sick. Renata kneels and is on the same level as the child. She looks at Dianna and tells her that her mother is not sick and will be fine. She then hugs her niece.

Meanwhile,

Aranza and Aurelio were at the Montes De Alba Mansion. They were having dinner with Gabriel and Anna Patricia later that night. They were in the family room, watching some TV. Aranza's phone rings. The number is unknown. She frowns at it. Aurelio asks her what's wrong. Aranza says that it’s a number that's not on her contact list and with Helena and the other five villains all on the loose, it could be one of them messing with her. Aurelio tells her to pick it up anyway. He adds that if it’s one of the bad guys, the call can be traced as part of the investigation.

Aranza says that makes sense and picks up the call. It is not one of the villains. It is still an unexpected call. Aranza still surprised greets Claudia back. Claudia smiles and chuckles. She tells Aranza that she knows that she must be surprised at the call. Aranza agrees that she is surprised. Claudia asks Aranza to meet her. She says that she'd like to talk to her. Aranza asks her what it's about. Claudia says that she will tell her when they meet. She tells Aranza to talk with Aurelio and then the three of them can agree on a date that is convenient for all of them. Aranza says that will be fine.

Back at Martin's house,

After some time, Marianna leaves the bathroom. She looks rattled and is holding the pregnancy test in her hands. She finds Renata and Dianna in the sitting room. Renata had put cartoons for Dianna to watch. Renata looks at Marianna and asks her what happened. Marianna takes a deep breathe and says that she is pregnant.

 Renata is a little shocked. She leaves Dianna's side and walks over to Marianna. She hugs her. Marianna softly cries. Dianna wakes and goes and tugs at Marianna's dress. Marianna turns and looks at her daughter. Dianna asks her mommy, why are you crying, and then asks her if she is fine. Marianna wipes away her tears and kneels until she is at her daughter's eye level. She then hugs her and says that she is fine. 

EPISODE 158

 

Sometime later,

Hernan calls Gabriela. She says that the world must be ending if he is calling her in the morning. Hernan shakes his head. He says that he was calling to say, that he was going to Dianna's custody ruling. Gabriela says that she thought about it and she would also go. She adds that they should support their cousin. She then asks Hernan if one of the reasons he is going is because of Adrianna. Hernan asks what Adrianna has to do with the custody trial.

Gabriela says that Adrianna loves Dianna like she was her daughter and he is hoping that because of that, she will be at the trial. Hernan sighs and while calling Gabriela, sis, he tells her that he can't lie to her. He also says that he loves Adrianna and he misses her. Gabriela tells him to be relaxed about it and to expect any outcome. She says that she would hate for him to be hurt if Adrianna doesn't show up. Hernan sighs. He says that he can only hope. He adds that if she is not there, he will be hurt but he will heal quickly.

Sometime Later,

At the prison,

Horacio, Isabella, and Alejandro are out in the prison's compound, like the other prisoners. It is a fairly hot morning. They are sitting together. They look around. Isabella asks Horacio and Alejandro if they have heard of any plans of escape. They both look at her surprised. Isabella looks around then says that they have to destroy the twins and the lives of everyone around them. Horacio says that it would be satisfying to destroy Antonio. Alejandro says that he has heard a few plans. Isabella tells him that he should look into them. She then looks around. The prison is highly secure. Getting out will be a very daunting task.

Sometime later,

At the courthouse,

It is almost full and there is chatter. Hernan looks around. Adrianna is not there. Gabriela who is sitting near him squeezes his hand. She knows how broken and hurt he feels. She knows that he came expecting Adrianna to be there. They are sitting right behind Martin. Marianna is sitting by his side. The judge comes into the room. Everyone stands up as his name is read out. The judge says that they are there for the reading of the results of the custody trial of Dianna (reads out her full name, Dianna Cortes Peralta).

He adds that all factors, including the recent arrests, have been taken into consideration and a decision that is in the best interests of the child has been arrived at. Before he can continue, there is some noise at the door. The door is opened and everyone's attention turns to the back. It was Adrianna. She apologises to the judge and the court for being late. She quickly walks to the front. As she does, Hernan looks at her and smiles. She sits near Gabriela. The judge looks around then says that they will continue.

Meanwhile,

At Montes De Alba Inc.,

Antonio has just gotten out of a lift when his phone rings. He removes it out of his pocket. It was an unknown number. He looks at it for a second, then returns it into his pocket. The phone stops ringing and Antonio ignores it. He starts walking. The phone, however, starts ringing again. Antonio frowns and picks it out of his pocket. He answers it. A familiar voice tells him not to be rude and grumpy. Antonio is so shocked, he stands frozen to the spot. The caller asks him if he is fine. Antonio manages to regain his composure and greets his grandmother. She says that she is okay but she is bored. She adds that she misses him and Hannibal.

Antonio says that she can come back because it is safe. He adds that he misses her very much too. He then looks around. Claudia sighs rather dramatically and Antonio smiles. Claudia says that as much as she misses him, it isn't the right time yet. She adds that she has been monitoring everything that has been going on and she doesn't feel that it is the right time yet. Antonio asks her when she is coming back. Claudia shrugs and says that she doesn't have a fixed date yet but it is soon. She says that she called because she knows it was safe enough for that and she didn't want him to be worried about her. Antonio tells his grandmother that he loves her. She says that she loves him too.

Meanwhile,

The police, arrive at the last known residence of Helena and Carlos (the motel) and don't find them there. No one seems to have any idea where they went. They had found concrete proof to link them (Juan Patricio, Helena, and Carlos) to fraud and the murder of Adrianna's parents. Other officers go to look for Juan Patricio but he can't be found either. No one at Juan Patricio's main residence or any of the Diaz's other properties seems to know where he could be.

Back at the courthouse,

The judge has reached the part that everyone was waiting for. It was time for the custody ruling to be read. He says that he awards sole custody of the minor in question (Dianna) to Martin Ortiz, with the full agreement of both the child's biological mother Marianna ( says her full name Marianna Peralta Holguain) and foster mother Adrianna (Adrianna Alvarez). He adds that Martin will have full custody of Dianna during Marianna's trial and if she is sentenced, he will have custody then as well.

He continues reading the results and says that if Marianna is sentenced, upon her release, Dianna's case will be reviewed and changes to the custody agreement made. He adds that Adrianna, if she wants, can maintain contact with the child but Alejandro Cortes, the child's biological father, is banned from any contact with her, following evidence suggesting his involvement in the murder of Emma Velez. Adrianna says to herself that she definitely will maintain contact with Dianna and will help Martin with her, whenever he asks.

Once the judge is done, reading the results, Gabriela taps her cousin. Martin turns to look at her. Adrianna and the twins congratulate him. Marianna is happy. She silently thanks God that everything went well. She adds (to herself) that regardless of what happens to her, Dianna will always be safe, loved, and well taken care of. Hernan and Adrianna look at each other. They have so much to catch up on.

Meanwhile,

The news of Helena, Carlos, and Juan Patricio potentially having gone into hiding has spread. The story of their downfall has captured people's attention. Several of Juan Patricio's staff and Helena and Carlos's friends and associates are taken in for questioning.

Sometime later,

At Hernan and Adrianna's house,

Adrianna tells Hernan that he has to go back to work. She reminds him that he took over after Helena and Carlos were exposed. Hernan shrugs and says that at that moment, she is his priority. Adrianna frowns at him. She says that there isn't much to talk about. Hernan says that she has been away for some time, but since she is back, they should spend the rest of the day together. Adrianna says that given that his family just got control of the company back after Helena and Carlos stole it, she doesn't think that, he should skip work.

Hernan says that he isn't neglecting his duties. He adds that given what has been happening, and the fact that she has just returned after her break, they both need the time together. Adrianna asks him if he knew that she would be at the trial. Hernan says that he hoped that she would be there. He adds that he knows how much she loves Dianna. Adrianna says that there was no way she would miss the ruling on Dianna's custody. She adds that knowing that Martin got custody of Dianna gives her peace because he loves the child and he is responsible. Hernan agrees that his cousin is responsible.

Later that night,

At Antonio and Gabriela's house,

Gabriela goes to Antonio's study and finds him there deep in thought. She asks him if something is wrong. She adds that he has been a little different for most of the day. Antonio says that his grandmother called him. Gabriela is shocked. She asks Antonio what his grandmother said. Antonio says that she told him not to be worried about her and she said that she was fine. He says that he misses her and he just wants things to stabilize and calm down so that she can come back. Gabriela moves near Antonio and puts her hand around him.

Elsewhere,

At Martin's house,

Martin finds Marianna sitting on the edge of the bed, quiet and deep in thought. He asks her if she is okay. Marianna says that she is. Martin sits near her. Marianna looks at him. She smiles at him and says that she is fine. Martin says that it is very clear that there is something on her mind. He adds that it has been a good day and they should be happy that Dianna's future is safe and secure. Marianna says that she is happy that he got custody of her daughter.

Martin says that for somebody, who is happy, she looks like she has been over-thinking for a while. Marianna stands and folds her hands. She says that she was just thinking about the future. She adds that given everything that has happened and what is still left, she can't help but worry about him and Dianna and how they will be when she goes to jail. Martin stands near her and puts his arms around her. He tells her that they will be fine. He adds that he will always take care of Dianna and he will have his family's and her family's support.

Days pass during which Gabriel and Anna Patricia begin the process of moving back into the mansion. A week after they move in,

On Saturday,

At the Montes De Alba mansion,

Gabriel and Anna Patricia are having a party to celebrate the Montes De Alba family finally getting back control of the house. All their family and friends were there. Gabriel himself, however, was not there. The Montes De Alba family residence was majestic. It was a sprawling estate. The party was outside. They had an impressively large and well-maintained property. Martin was with Marianna at one of the tables when Marianna hears someone call her. It is her cousin Renata. She greets them. Martin asks her if she is fine. Renata says that she is, though, she is worried about Thiago.

She says that she can't see her son. Martin tells her to relax. He adds that the Montes De Alba compound is secure and Thiago is safe. Renata says that she is not worried about his safety but about his ability to get upto mischief. Marianna smiles and says that Thiago will be too busy exploring the mansion to get upto any mischief. Renata tells Marianna to follow her. She says that they have a lot to catch up on. Martin says that he doesn't understand them. He adds that they talk almost every day. Marianna asks him if he wants to join them. Martin shakes his head. He says that he will let them gossip. Marianna frowns but follows her cousin.

Elsewhere at the compound,

Gabriela and Adrianna are in a different part of the compound. Adrianna asks Gabriela if she knows why her father wanted the children to go with him. Gabriela admits that she doesn't. She adds that she asked him but he smiled and told her that she would know soon enough. Adrianna says that is something Aranza would do. Gabriela agrees.

Meanwhile,

Marianna and Renata are with their grandfather when they see Thiago approaching. He is however not alone. He is with Octavio. Marianna looks at her cousin and smiles. Renata frowns. They all greet each other. Santiago tells Octavio that he is watching him. Renata looks at her grandfather and asks him what he means. Santiago looks at Renata, Marianna, Thiago and then at Octavio. He says that with granddaughters as pretty as his, he has to be careful and watch over them.

Renata and Marianna look at their grandfather shocked. Thiago tells Santiago that Dr. Octavio is nice. Santiago says that he doesn't doubt that. To himself, he adds that the doctor would make a perfect match for Renata. Santiago then looks around. He smiles at Marianna, without anyone else seeing him. She smiles back quickly. She is fully aware of just what her sneaky grandfather is upto.

Elsewhere,

Martin runs into Hernan. Hernan tells Martin that he thought he was with Marianna. Martin says that her cousin took her to their grandfather. He then says that what he can't figure out no matter how hard he tries, is why his (Hernan's) father, wanted to go with all four children. Hernan says that he doesn't either. He adds that he wouldn't be surprised if his father has planned something, much like Aranza would do.

Martin says that it feels like just when things are about to get settled, they take a detour. Hernan asks him why he is saying that. Martin says it's because of Helena, Carlos, and Juan Patricio going into hiding. Hernan agrees. He says that if only, they had been caught earlier, everything would have ended and they could live their lives in peace. Martin asks Hernan if he thinks that they are in danger. Hernan says that he doesn't think so, but being a little extra vigilant won't hurt.

Sometime later,

Marianna is standing with Octavio alone. She says that she wants to apologize to him on her grandfather's behalf because of what happened earlier. Octavio shrugs and says that he hasn't taken any offence. He adds that her grandfather was just defending them which he finds admirable. Marianna asks him if he wasn't offended. Octavio assures her that he wasn't.

He adds that he is beginning to see where Thiago gets his character and personality. Marianna agrees that Thiago is like a mini version of her grandfather. Octavio asks her how she feels about Helena and Carlos running away from the law. Marianna says that she feels angry because they killed her father. She adds that she might not have met him but she wants him to get justice.

Elsewhere,

Helena and Carlos are in a different city, in disguise and hiding. Juan Patricio is also hiding in disguise but in a different location. 

Back at the Montes De Alba Mansion,

Martin sees Marianna talking to Octavio and frowns. It bothers him. He clenches one of his hands. Is Octavio trying to chat her up?

EPISODE 157

Much later,

At Martin's house,

He finds Marianna, in the dining room. She is 'busy' reading a book and doesn't respond when he calls her. Martin calls her again and still, she doesn't look up at him. Martin moves near her and takes the book out of her hands. Marianna stands and glares at him. She tells him to leave her alone. Martin gets straight to the point. He asks her what happened and what she was told at the police station. Marianna clasps her hands together. Martin tells her to tell him the truth no matter, how bad it is. Marianna sighs and says that she heard the audio where Alejandro, Isabella, and Horacio were talking about killing Emma with the thugs they hired to do that. Martin is so shocked. He steps back a bit.

Marianna looks at him but lets him absorb the shock in silence and peace. Martin runs a hand through his hair. He then looks at Marianna asks her what else she knows. Marianna says that someone found a phone while working in a pub and was going to keep it until she heard the audio. Marianna says that the phone's owner was probably drunk. Martin asks her if she was told what would happen next from there. Marianna says no, and adds that it's not like it was necessary. She adds that it's only a matter of time before Isabella and the others are arrested and the trial begins. Marianna moves back from Martin and turns to leave. He holds her and Marianna turns and faces him.

Elsewhere,

At Hernan's house,

Hernan is in the dining room. He is reading a newspaper when he hears soft footsteps. He turns and it is Gisela. She is wearing her Pajamas and is holding her teddy bear. She also looks very sad and on the verge of tears. He leaves the newspaper and walks over to his daughter. He carries her and goes with her to the couch. He asks her what's bothering her. Gisela says that she misses her mommy. She then looks at Hernan and asks him where her mommy is.

Hernan has no idea what to do or say. Adrianna wouldn't tell him where she was. He runs a hand through his hair. He looks at his daughter and she is still looking at him waiting for an explanation. Hernan does the best he can come up with on such short notice. He tells Gisela that her mother went on a trip for a little while but she will come back. Gisela starts to cry and Hernan comforts her. Gisela says that she wants to go to her mommy. Hernan tells Gisela that her mother loves her and will come back to her very soon. Gisela lays her head on Hernan's chest and sobs softly.

Back at Martin's house,

Marianna tells Martin that she has told him everything that she knows. Martin says that's fine then asks her why she is fleeing from him. Marianna denies that she was. She then frees herself from Martin. He asks her if she is fleeing because of what they just found out. She says that the truth was going to come out eventually and it has. Martin says that trial or no trial they are going to get through everything together. Marianna says that what they had was a dream and that it has come to an end.

She adds that she has to face up to her mistakes and he has a future to build. Martin says he does have a future to build and she as well as Dianna are an important part of that. Marianna shakes her head. She says that he should move on with his life and let her carry her cross. Martin says that she is stubborn. He adds that they will face the trial head-on and then they will plan accordingly. Marianna asks Martin why he won't listen to her. Martin says that he is listening to her but he doesn't agree with her.

The next day, on Tuesday,

The day starts like any other normal day, but it will be anything but that. In three different locations in the city, Isabella, Horacio, and Alejandro are all woken up, by police at their doors. They are all shocked especially when they see the arrest warrants.

Sometime later,

At Montes De Alba Inc.,

It is around lunchtime, and Martin is sitting is in the cafeteria quietly having his lunch, when he sees Aurelio approaching him. He is carrying his tray. Aurelio asks him if he can sit. Martin says it's okay. Aurelio sits. He takes one bite out of his food and then looks at Martin. Aurelio asks him what happened because he looks like something serious is on his mind. Martin looks at his younger cousin. He then says that evidence was found that proves Isabella, Horacio and Alejandro killed Emma.

Aurelio is shocked. He asks what about Marianna. Martin says that she was innocent just as she has always said. Aurelio asks what kind of evidence was found. Martin says somebody left their phone in a club and someone found the audio while perusing the phone. He adds that the phone's owner was likely one of the other voices heard on audio. Aurelio asks him how he feels about it. Martin says that he is happy because finally, they can get justice for Emma.

Aurelio says that is good but he also has to face the reality that it means that Marianna will have to go to trial for the other things that she did.

Martin sighs and says that he knows. Aurelio asks him what he will do about that. Martin says that he loves Marianna and as much as people may not understand it, he wants to be with her and they will find a way to work around it, depending on how long her sentence is. Aurelio asks Martin when the ruling on Dianna's custody will be made. Martin says that it will be in two days.

Meanwhile,

In Helena and Carlos hotel room,

They, like everyone else, have not missed the news of Isabella, Horacio, and Alejandro's arrests. They are watching the breaking news on Television. The arrests are creating a lot of buzz around the city. Helena tells Carlos that it is only a matter of time before the police come for them as well. She tells him that if he wants to remain and be arrested that's upon him. She adds that she will try and get away. Carlos looks at her then sighs and says that he will escape as well. Over the next few hours, Isabella, Horacio, and Alejandro hear the audio, meet up with their lawyer, and are interrogated.

Later that night,

At Hernan and Adrianna's house,

Hernan is in the dining room. He is watching television when his phone rings. He checks who it is. It is Adrianna. He immediately mutes the TV and answers his phone. She asks him how he is. He says that he is okay but he still misses her. Adrianna reminds him not to insist and adds that she will come when she is ready. Hernan says he will insist until she returns. Adrianna sighs and asks how Gisela is. Hernan says that she is fine but she is always asking about her and she cries often. Adrianna closes her eyes for a second. She then puts her phone down and wipes away her tears. Hernan asks her if she is still there.

Adrianna looks at the phone, wipes away some more tears, and then picks up the phone. She tells Hernan that she is fine. He, however, doesn't believe her. He tells her that he can hear from her voice that she is not well. He says that she sounds like she has been crying. Adrianna says that she is fine. She adds that she just has a small cold. Hernan tells Adrianna that if she isn't well, he will drop everything and come and get her wherever she is. Adrianna insists that she is fine. Hernan tells her that now more than ever, she has reasons to come back. Adrianna asks him what he means. 

She asks him if something happened. He tells her that evidence was found that linked Alejandro, Isabella, and Horacio to Emma's murder, and they were arrested earlier in the day. Adrianna is shocked. After some seconds, she says that either way, she doesn't feel ready to come back yet. Just then, Hernan feels someone tug at him and he turns. Gisela is there. She is in her pajamas, holding one of her favourite teddy bears. She tells Hernan to come and stay with her because she can't sleep. On the other end of the phone, Adrianna hears them. She covers her mouth with her free hand, to stop the crying. It was the first time, she had heard her daughter's voice, in such a long time.

Elsewhere,

At Antonio and Gabriela's house,

Gabriela is in the kitchen. She is sipping a glass of juice. Antonio comes and finds her there. He asks her whether she was thinking about the arrests. Gabriela says more or less. She adds that she is happy that finally, they can get justice for Emma and get rid of Alejandro, Isabella, and Horacio. Antonio asks her what she means by more or less. Gabriela says that she was also thinking about Adrianna. Antonio shrugs and says that thankfully, she is fine and they can only hope that she decides to come back soon. Gabriela asks Antonio point blank, if there isn't anything, he can do about it.

Antonio asks her what she is referring to. Gabriela says that it pains her to see how her brother is because Adrianna left. She tells Antonio that, enough time has passed for Adrianna to come to terms with what happened and he should track her down. Antonio is very shocked. He says that he can't do that. Gabriela folds her hands and asks him if he can't or he won't. She adds that tracking down Adrianna won't be too hard for him considering what he is capable of doing. Antonio says that it is not about, ability but about respecting Adrianna's wishes.

He adds that from what Adrianna has been telling Hernan, she is fine and so, they need to respect her wishes. Gabriela frowns at Antonio. She tells him that Adrianna can get through, the pain of learning what happened to her parents surrounded by all who love her. Antonio says he can't go against her wishes. He adds that the retreat is good for her and they should just let her reflect. Gabriela says that the situation is hard on Hernan and Gisela. Antonio says that it's harder on Adrianna because she's the one whose psycho aunt killed her parents.

Back at Hernan and Adrianna's house,

Adrianna hears Hernan tell Gisela that he will read her a story. He hears her laugh. She can't take it anymore. She had told Hernan to not let her talk to Gisela to make things easier. All the times, she had called, Gisela had not been near Hernan. Today, was different, today, her daughter was there. She calls out to Hernan and in the process, Gisela hears her voice. She starts to shout mommy, mommy and turns to face Hernan. She says that she wants to talk to her mommy. Hernan looks at his phone then at his daughter. Gisela frowns and folds her hands.

Despite the situation, Hernan smiles. He says to himself that she will be just like Aranza. He picks his phone and asks Adrianna if she needed something. Adrianna says that she would like to talk to Gisela. Hernan gives Gisela his phone and tells her that her mother wants to talk to her. Gisela excitedly takes the phone. The first thing, she asks Adrianna is mommy, when are you coming home. Adrianna fights off tears and says that she is coming back soon. Gisela asks her what she will bring for her. Adrianna smiles and says that it will be a surprise.

Back at Antonio and Gabriela's house,

Gabriela says that she just wishes that she could do, something to help Hernan. Antonio holds her hands in his and says that there is nothing they can do, except wait for Adrianna to return and pray that it will be soon. Gabriela removes her hands from Antonio's. She insists that there has to be something they could do. Antonio says that he will not hack Adrianna's phone. Gabriela tells Antonio that he is being very selfish and stubborn. Antonio insists that he cannot go against Adrianna's wishes. Gabriela tells him that he doesn't understand what her brother is going through.

Antonio tells Gabriela that the same way, she is loyal to Hernan is the same way he is loyal to Adrianna. He adds that they should let things be. Gabriela glares at Antonio and walks past him. He follows her out of the kitchen. He quickly catches up with her. Gabriela glares at Antonio again and tells him to leave her alone. Antonio moves near her and puts his arms around her waist. They look into each other's eyes. Antonio says that at that particular moment, he is reminded of their first kiss. Antonio adds that he remembers how she didn't want him to help her or to take her to her house.

He also adds that she has always been stubborn. Gabriela glares at him. She tells him that she has things to do. She tries to leave but Antonio still holds onto her. Gabriela looks up at him. Antonio says that he is as attracted to her now as he was then. Gabriela tries to move away from Antonio but he holds onto her. Gabriela looks up at Antonio and glares at him. She starts to argue with him but doesn't get very far because Antonio kisses her. Gabriela kisses him back with equal passion. After some time, Gabriela breaks away from Antonio. He asks her what's going on.

Gabriela reminds him that they are in the kitchen and Hannibal could wake up anytime. Antonio holds her hand and leads her to their bedroom. As soon as the door is closed, Antonio turns to Gabriela and holds up her face with one of his hands. Gabriela looks at him. Antonio reminds her that he loves her. Gabriela says that she loves him too. Antonio then continues kissing her. They fall onto the bed and continue kissing for some more time. After some time, they stop but only to remove their clothes. One by one, each layer of clothing falls off, as they continue kissing. When they are done, Antonio kisses Gina as they fall onto the bed.

Two days later, on Thursday,

At Martin's house,

Marianna is awake early. She pours herself some ice-cold soda. She takes a few sips. Today was it, the day Dianna's future was decided. She was very nervous. What if something went wrong? She sighs and turns to leave the kitchen. Martin is standing there at the exit, arms folded looking, at her. He says that she is awake quite early. Marianna shrugs and says that she can't sleep.

Martin asks her if it is because it is the day Dianna's custody is decided. Marianna nods. Martin comes closer to her. He holds up her face and she looks up at him. Martin tells her that Alejandro is under arrest for murder and, he is in no position to do anything. He then kisses her. After some time, Marianna moves away from Martin. He lets her leave. After she leaves, Martin runs a hand through his hair and sighs.

EPISODE 156

Gabriela again asks Hernan why he is being so stubborn. Hernan tells Gabriela that he doesn't need his younger sister to help him and he can do fine just by himself. He says that he is the firstborn and he doesn't need her help. Gabriela shakes her head. She then tells him to tone his ego down. She reminds him that he has to deal with Adrianna missing the next day and he needs his family, mostly her around him. Hernan ignores Gabriela and turns to leave. She walks quickly and passes him. Hernan looks at Gabriela and asks her what she is trying to do. Gabriela gives her brother her most stern face. She then says that she is going with him to look after him and be there for him.

Hernan tells Gabriela that she is crazy. He reminds her that Antonio isn't back and she has two children to look after. Gabriela says that she and the children will follow him in the car. Hernan looks at his sister and smiles. He doesn't doubt her word. Gabriela is crazy enough to do exactly what she said. Gabriela asks her brother, what his decision is. Hernan sighs and says he will stay. Gabriela smiles and goes and hugs her brother. She then tells him to follow her and he can help her make something for him. Hernan frowns but follows her.

Back at Martin's house,

Marianna asks Martin what happens next. Martin says that the next day, they will have to tell everyone else and the police. Marianna remains quiet and seems to think about something. Martin moves closer to her and puts his arms around her. He asks her what is troubling her. Marianna tells him that she just realized something.

She adds that Adrianna would have gone on her break earlier were it not for Dianna. Martin says that he doesn't see what Dianna has to do with anything. Marianna says that Adrianna loves Dianna so much that she postponed dealing with her pain to make sure, she was there for the trial. Martin says that Adrianna wanted to make sure she did all that she could so that he got Dianna's custody. Marianna nods.

The next day, on Friday

Hernan has just woken up. The sad reality of Adrianna missing was beginning to hit him. He runs one hand through his hair and looks around him. He is in one of the children's rooms. His phone rings. He frowns and looks around for it. He says that it better not be Gabriela messing with his mind. He looks around and sees it on the dressing table. He walks over and picks it up. Hernan frowns when he sees that it is a blocked number. He frowns and says Alejandro is probably calling him to annoy him. Hernan ignores it and moves from the bed. 

The phone rings again. Hernan stares at it and frowns. He ignores it but the caller seems insistent. He sighs and goes and picks it up. He expects to hear Alejandro but to his utter shock, it is Adrianna. She is sitting on a chair on the balcony of a small cottage overlooking a green forest. She asks him how he is. He quickly moves to the bed and sits down. Hernan says that he is fine but he misses her. Adrianna pauses and closes her eyes for a second. She then asks him where Gisela is. Hernan says that Martin and Marianna are taking care of her. 

He tells her not to worry because Gisela will always be loved and taken care of. Hernan asks her how she is. He says he loves her and he wants her to let him be there for her because he will. Adrianna says that she can't come back at the moment. She adds that she needs time. Hernan reminds her that Gisela needs and misses her and so does he. Adrianna sighs and says that she misses them both too but she needs time by herself to accept what happened to her parents and heal from it. Hernan sighs and asks how long she will be gone. Adrianna says that she isn't sure and can't give an exact date. 

She adds that because Gisela is young and needs her, it won't be for too long. Hernan insists that she can also come back, and he, Aranza, and Antonio will do everything they can to help her begin to heal and to bring her back to a better place. Adrianna tells Hernan not to insist. She says that she doesn't feel ready to go back yet. Hernan asks her to keep in touch so that they won't get worried. Adrianna says that she won't call every day, otherwise, that will beat the whole point of going on a solo retreat but she will call him.

Three days later, on Monday,

Early that morning,

At Martin's house,

Martin enters the kitchen and finds Marianna there. She is drinking a glass of water. He asks her if she is okay. Marianna says that she is. He moves closer to her. Martin notices that she won't look up at him. He lifts her face with one of his hands. He can see it in her eyes. He asks her what is going on. Marianna says that the officer in charge of investigating Emma's murder wants to talk to her. Martin is shocked. He releases her and folds his hands.

He asks her what the officer wants to talk to her about. Marianna says that she doesn't know. Martin asks her if she wants him to go with her. Marianna tells Martin that it's not necessary. She tells him that he should go to work and they will talk in the evening. Martin says that if it involves getting justice for Emma, he wants to know if there are any updates. Marianna says that she too wants to end that period of her life but they have to wait and see how the day goes. Martin is still unsure. Marianna assures him that she will update him on whatever she is told.

At the Monte Alba Mansion,

Anna Patricia and Gabriel have arrived at the Montes De Alba mansion. He gets out of the car. Anna Patricia watches the taxi that has just dropped them leave. She then turns to Gabriel and asks him what he is upto. He casually shrugs and says that there is nothing wrong with him coming to his house. Anna Patricia looks at him like he is crazy. She tells him that they should be patient and they should wait for the law to take its course. 

She adds that there is no reason for them to antagonize Helena and Carlos when they are falling anyway. 

Gabriel smiles and tells her to relax. Anna Patricia tells him that she knows that he is enjoying provoking Helena and Carlos but it is not worth the trouble that it could cause. Gabriel takes her hands into his and tells her that the house no longer belongs to Helena and Carlos. Anna Patricia asks him what he means. Gabriel says that he has been consulting with a lawyer. He adds that with the evidence piling up against Helena and Carlos, it is clear that the two are guilty of fraud and murder on various counts. He also says that it took a shorter time than expected. Anna Patricia is shocked. Gabriel tells her that they should continue talking inside.

Elsewhere,

At Montes De Alba Inc.,

In Hernan's new office,

Hernan is trying as he often does, to focus on working, but Adrianna is never far from his mind. He stops and pauses for a second. He remembers some moments he has shared with her. He comes back to the present and sighs. He says to himself that he misses her. Just then there is a knock on the door and Aranza enters. He frowns and asks her what trouble she caused this time. 

Aranza moves closer and pinches him. She then says my brother, the big boss and goes and hugs him. She asks him if Adrianna has called him again. Hernan says that she has and they talked a bit. He adds that he is giving Adrianna time because that is what she asked for. He adds that it was however hard to not even know where she was. Aranza puts an arm on Hernan's shoulder.

Shortly after,

In Gabriel's study,

Anna Patricia says that she is happy that it has happened so fast. She asks him if his children know. He says that no one knows. She says that his children will be happy. Gabriel holds her hands in his. He says that while they will be, they are all adults living their own lives. He says that a house as beautiful as that needs a beautiful queen to take care of it. She asks him what exactly he means. Gabriel says that he, she, and Ricardo will fill up this house with life and love. Anna Patricia smiles and asks him if he is sure about adopting Ricardo. Gabriel assures her that he is and she should never doubt that.

Elsewhere,

Helena and Carlos are living in a fairly big, fairly decent motel room. They have lost everything, the prestige, the power, the company, and now the house. They are almost broke. Helena reminds Carlos that they have lost everything and it is only a matter of time before they lose their freedom. Carlos says that fleeing will make them look guiltier. Helena says that being arrested is worse. Meanwhile, Juan Patricio, is in his house, not much better. He knows that it is only a matter of time before he falls.

Sometime later,

Marianna is sitting in the office of the police officer in charge of investigating Emma's murder case. He isn't there. He had told her to wait for her for a short while. Marianna is deep in thought when the officer comes in. He apologises for keeping her waiting and goes and opens a safe. Marianna says that it's not a problem. He removes a closed box and goes and looks through files in a drawer. He retrieves what he was looking for and then sits near Marianna. He tells Marianna that he asked her to come because he wanted her to confirm some evidence that was recently handed to him. Marianna asks him what evidence, he is talking about.

The officer says that a little over a week ago, they were given an audio in which Alejandro, Isabella, and Horacio together with other people, are heard saying that Emma was a problem and that they had to get rid of her. Marianna is shocked. That was it. The final proof that her former friends were psychos. The officer says that he wants her to hear all of it and then sign a statement if she is sure it is Alejandro and the others. He asks her if she is ready to do it or she would prefer to wait. Marianna says that she is fine and she would rather do it immediately. The officer opens the box and removes the phone.

Elsewhere,

Adrianna is in the secluded mountain resort where she went for a retreat. She is warmly dressed. She sips a cup of coffee and closes her eyes for a second. All she can see is Gisela smiling face and Hernan's calm strong presence. How she misses them more than anything else. She remembers a time Hannibal came over for the weekend and Hernan played with Gisela and Hannibal. She remembers different times she shared with him.

She then stands up and walks over to the dressing mirror. She picks up one of the last photos she took with her parents (she was two years). If her parents were still alive, what could have been? How would her life have been? The tears that Adrianna has been suppressing since Antonio told her the truth finally fall. Through tears, Adrianna asks out loud (as if talking to Helena)why her parents were killed and why she was used in such a manner. 

Some hours later,

At Ramon and Clara's house,

Anna Patricia is with Ricardo alone. She had decided (together with Gabriel, Antonio, and Gabriela) that to make the transition easier on Ricardo, he should spend more time around her and Gabriel. Her parents had gone to meet up with friends. He is colouring in the dining room. She brings him his food and places it on the table. She asks him if he wants her to feed him. Ricardo shakes his head and says that he is a big boy and can feed himself. Anna Patricia smiles and comes to see what he is drawing. She is shocked to see what he has drawn. She asks him who the lady in the picture is. He looks at her and says that is the evil lady who said that she was his mother and that she was coming for him.

Anna Patricia says to herself that it was Isabella. Anna Patricia asks him if he has ever told anyone. Ricardo says that she told him that if he told anyone, something bad would happen to him. Anna Patricia asks him where he saw that lady. Ricardo says that he saw her when he went to the zoo with his class and he got lost. Anna Patricia asks herself if Isabella has been following him or if she is upto no good. Ricardo asks her if the lady will take him away. Anna Patricia hugs him and assures him that no one will ever take him away. She rubs his head and says that she loves him very much. He says that he loves her too.

Meanwhile,

At Antonio's house,

Antonio finds Hannibal, in the sitting room, drawing. The picture, though simple and funny showed an older man and young child. Antonio smiles at his son and asks him what he is drawing. Hannibal says that it is a picture of him and his grandpa. He says that he wants to be strong and clever just like his grandpa. Antonio frowns. As always Gabriela was overpraising her father in front of their son. What will Hannibal think of him? That he isn't as clever, strong, or a survivor as Gabriel? Hannibal looks up at him and smiles. The smile was so similar to Gabriela's. Antonio says that he is going to have to talk to her about it.

At Martin's house,

Martin has just arrived. Dianna has gone to him and, he hugs her. He quickly notices that Marianna is avoiding making eye contact with him. He tells himself that whatever she was told at the station must be serious. Dianna turns around and calls out to her mommy, mommy. She then tells her to come. Marianna reluctantly walks over towards Martin and Dianna. She picks up Dianna and then greets Martin.

Back at Antonio and Gabriela's house,

Gabriela and Antonio are in their room. She notices that he is a little quieter than usual. She asks him if he is okay. Antonio looks at her and says that all those stories she is telling Hannibal about her father make her father out to be some sort of superman. Gabriela shrugs and says that she doesn't see what the big deal is. Antonio says that she is going to make their son see him in a lesser way. Gabriela frowns and tells Antonio that he is being overly dramatic and childish.

She adds that there is nothing wrong with her wanting her son to know that his grandfather is a strong man and a survivor. Antonio frowns. He says that she is overdoing it and, her son will see him as less of a man than her father. Gabriela tells Antonio that he is Hannibal's father and he will always have a relationship with their son. She adds that she also wants her son to have the relationship she would have had with her father growing up had things been different. Antonio folds his hands and says that she can do that without overcompensating.
