EPISODE 39

 

Meanwhile, Antonio is in his room, in the mansion. He has just come out of the shower. The events of the last two days, are still weighing heavily on his mind. He remembers his first encounters with Gina. She was unimpressed by him and treated him with disdain. His attempts at flattery met with steely defiance. He knew that despite her icy reaction, she had a good heart, and a capacity to love. He asks (himself), what will happen to them.

Meanwhile, Hector is also in his room. He has flashbacks of his first encounters with Adrianna. She was timid, a little aloof, and a bit unsure of herself but still very intelligent and warm. He began to work breaking the walls she built around herself, and things were going great, until then.

Elsewhere, Gina also has flashbacks of her first encounters with Antonio. He was cocky and full of himself. Just the same rascal, he had been when they were children. He was incredibly intelligent and handsome as hell. She was torn between throttling him, fear he would recognize her, and her attraction to him. Slowly she learnt that there was more to him than his bad-boy reputation.

Elsewhere,

Martin's phone rings. He is having his breakfast. It's Emma. He smiles and picks it up. He asks her how the most beautiful woman in the world is. She smiles and says she is fine, but he can detect something in her voice that tells otherwise and asks her about it. She pauses and then tells him about it.

Sometime later,

Gina is at her desk, at work, but she just wishes she could go home and sleep. Yesterday was a difficult day, from Aurelio's accident to finding out, about Isabella's pregnancy. Adrianna feels just as bad. She just wants the day to end so she can go home. She doesn't know what to do.

Meanwhile, at the mental hospital, John is going through newspapers as usual. He then pauses and he has another flashback of the young boy with his mother. She is a spitting image of Gina.

Meanwhile, Antonio keeps on looking at his phone. He has not spoken to Gina since the previous day. He wanted to give her space to absorb what he told her. He wonders what she was thinking at that moment.

Hector too is absorbed, in his own thoughts. He is wondering what Adrianna is thinking about. He cannot wait to talk about it later with her. He just wishes all of this would go away, and he and Adrianna could go back to where they were.

Elsewhere, Martin is in the lift, to go three floors up, when Marianna enters. Noticing he is in there, she glares at him. He stares back unperturbed. He cannot stand her, especially after what Emma told him earlier. When the lift opens, he says it is so sad when innocent children get stuck, with witches for mothers. 

Marianna glares at him, and he smiles back. She (to herself), calls Martin an idiot and says she cannot stand him. It then strikes her, Martin knows she is pregnant. Again, she(to herself) says that Martin knowing means, that Gina or Emma told him, meaning Antonio already told Gina, and Hector told Adrianna. Marianna then (to herself ) says that was quick.

Sometime later,

Emma goes to the garden with Gina during lunch, so that they can talk about what happened. Gina says that she is confused and doesn't know what to do. Emma says she knows that this is hard to deal with, but she (Gina) should remember that this is not Antonio's fault; it is the result of Isabella's schemes. Emma says she knows that Antonio loves her (Gina) and they can get through this. Gina says that she hopes so. Emma then asks, her if she is going to visit John or Aurelio. Gina says that she will visit John, and Anna Patricia, and Hector can go visit Aurelio. She adds that she doesn't want John to feel alone.

Elsewhere, Marianna and Isabella are having lunch. Marianna tells her that she thinks Hector already confessed to Adrianna, and Antonio to Gina. Isabella asks her why. Marianna tells her of the encounter she had with Martin earlier. Isabella says that is fine, and it doesn't change a thing. Marianna says that what happens if the pregnancies don't change a thing and Antonio stays with Gina and Hector with Adrianna. 

Isabella says that that's not a problem, because, they will simply use the children, as pawns to frustrate the relationships, and they will get other cards to play. Even Marianna is shocked. How can Isabella refer to her child as a card? Marianna says (to herself), that Isabella's comments went too far, especially since they are talking about a child.

Meanwhile, at the hospital: a doctor is administering tests on Aurelio. He is awake and asks how he is. The doctor tells him, that he is not too bad, but that he needs several days of bed rest.

Meanwhile, at the university, Aranza is under a tree, browsing on her phone. She feels that someone has come and is standing near her, so she looks up. It's the last person; she wants to see- Mauricio Basanez. She ignores him and continues, using her phone. He greets her and asks her, where her charming boyfriend is, and why she is alone. Aranza feels she has had it and tells Mauricio to leave her alone. She says that they are not friends and that she can't stand him. She adds that he should not greet her and that he should pretend that she (Aranza) does not exist. It happens in a flash of an instant, and Aranza is caught, off guard. Mauricio kisses her. Aranza immediately pulls away and tells him to go to hell. She stomps, off and Mauricio smiles. He will get her and Aurelio won't be able to do anything about it.

At the end of the working day, Gina is with Emma, in the garden. Antonio comes and says that he wants to talk to her. Emma greets Antonio and then tells Gina, that they will talk later. After Emma leaves, Antonio asks Gina if she is going to the hospital that day. She says that she talked with Luisa and Anna Patricia, and they agreed that she goes to visit John while everyone else represents her at the hospital with Aurelio. Antonio is not happy with the idea, because he is uncomfortable with Gina's attachment to John, but he is unwilling to rock the boat, because of the mess with Isabella. Antonio asks her if they can talk after she visits John, and Gina agrees.

Shortly after, Adrianna calls Hector and asks him if he is going to visit Aurelio. He says he is. He tells her that Gina will visit John, and everyone else will visit Aurelio. He asks her if she is coming. Adrianna pauses then says she is. Hector asks her if they can talk after the hospital visit. Adrianna agrees.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Luisa, Armando, Anna Patricia, Clara, and Ramon are already there. Aranza, Hector, Antonio, and Adrianna arrive. Adrianna asks her cousin if she is okay. Aranza says she is but Adrianna notices her hesitance.

Back at the mental hospital, John is glad to see, Gina. Her spirit is lifted with John's warmth. She needs it, from Aurelio's accident to Isabella's pregnancy announcement, to the guilt of her and her brother's secret, she feels down and overwhelmed. John asks her, how her cousin is. Gina says he is still in some pain, but he is doing well and will leave in a couple of days. She sits near him. He notices her sadness and asks her why she is sad.

Gina says that sometimes life takes a cruel and unfair twist, and things don't seem to be going someone's way. John says that he knows she is a strong woman and can get through whatever is making her sad. Gina can't believe it. She feels so comfortable, loved, and protected around him and his resemblance to her father is uncanny. John says that if he had a daughter he would want his daughter to be like her.

Back at the hospital, Armando has managed to pry Luisa away from the hospital wards, to go to the cafeteria for some food. Luisa tells Hector, that if the doctor says anything, he should call immediately. He promises to call. Clara and Ramon go with them. When they leave, Antonio turns to Aranza and asks her if she is okay. Again she says she is. Adrianna says that she does not sound and look okay. Aranza says it's not a big deal and says that they all have their own problems that they are dealing with and that she does not want to burden them.

Adrianna says that no matter what is happening in each of their lives, they will always have time for her because they love her. Aranza tells them that Mauricio ambushed her in school, and when she was telling him off so that he leaves her alone, he kissed her against her will. Antonio's hands clench. Aranza says that she doesn't know what to do because her mother is more interested in keeping the Basanez' business relationship than in her protection and safety. She adds that she has already made it clear that she wants nothing to do with him but he doesn't seem to get the message. Antonio tells her to relax because he and Hector are going to do something about it.

Meanwhile, back at the mental institution, John asks Gina if he can hug her, and she agrees. She places her head on his shoulder, and he places an arm on her shoulder. Gina remembers when she was a child, and when one day she and Hector were playing, he broke her favorite doll, and she went to her father crying, he hugged her and said he would buy her a new one.

Later at the end of the day, Adrianna and Hector go to talk in the park, which is near where Hector, Gina, and Aurelio live. He says that they have to talk about Marianna's pregnancy as unfortunate as it is. He says the child is innocent, and he (Hector) will step up and do the right thing. Adrianna asks him if he would consider marrying Marianna. Hector assures her that is out of the question.

Meanwhile, Antonio and Gina are also talking. She asks him if he has already reached a deal of some sort with Isabella over the baby. He says that they have not. He adds that between Aurelio's accident and Aranza's problem with Mauricio, he hasn't talked to her. Gina says that he will eventually have to sit down with Isabella and agree on something for the sake of the child. He says he will, as hard as that will be because Isabella is trying to be difficult on purpose and does not intend to make it easy for him. 

Gina says that she will have to talk with Clara, Luisa, and Anna Patricia, because, she needs the words of advice of wiser older women. Antonio says that he has no problem with it. He holds her hand and says that he will work, to get an acceptable solution because he loves her. Antonio then kisses her and she kisses him back.

Back with Adrianna and Hector, she asks him if he has talked with Marianna about reaching a deal with her, about the baby. He says they haven't talked given everything else that has happened. Adrianna says that she wants him to talk to Marianna because this limbo situation is uncomfortable and won't be good for the baby once he is born. Hector assures her that he will. He adds that he loves her and that they will overcome this. He then kisses her and she kisses him back.

EPISODE 38

 

Meanwhile, Aurelio is walking on a lonely deserted pathway on his way to the university, when he runs into a group of five, masked young men. They beat him up and leave him for dead. After what seems like forever, a young boy of about eight, is walking through there, and sees Aurelio, and comes over. It is the same boy Antonio hit, months earlier. He runs to call somebody. They check Aurelio and then call an ambulance.

Meanwhile, Aranza is at the university. One of her classes has just ended. She tries to call Aurelio, but nothing. She knows, he had no morning classes that day and was coming to the university later. Where was he? Mauricio has just come from a class as well. He smirks and says (to himself) that, Aurelio will have to learn to respect his betters and to know his place, after the lesson, he has just been taught.

Elsewhere,

Adrianna is at her desk working when she receives a phone call, but the number is not familiar. She tries to ignore it, but, when the caller insists, she picks it up again. He asks her if he knows Aurelio Ortiz, and she says she does. Adrianna, then asks, the person, why they have Aurelio's phone. They tell her, that Aurelio was brought in, with some injuries. Adrianna is shocked. The person said, they took his phone and picked up a random number, and called, which turned out to be hers.

Meanwhile, Aranza tries to call Aurelio again, even as she gets ready to attend another class, but nothing. Aranza pouts and says (to herself) that she can hear the signal, indicating that he is busy, but he won't pick up her call. Who was Aurelio talking to?

Meanwhile, Adrianna calls Gina. Gina can sense from Adrianna's voice that something is up, and asks her about it. Adrianna tells her about the call from the hospital informing her that Aurelio, was involved in some kind of accident, and was taken there. Gina is scared. That morning, when they last saw each other, Aurelio was fine. Gina asks her how serious it is. Adrianna says she doesn't know. Gina says she will tell Armando and Luisa about it.

Meanwhile, back at the mental hospital, John is in his room, filling puzzles. Dr. Alves comes in and asks John how he is. John says he feels quite well, but he feels bored, of seeing the same faces and doing the same things. He adds that he wants something different. He says he wants to see what the outside world is like, even for a little while.

Elsewhere, Luisa is distraught. Her son, her little boy, is lying in that bed, beaten by some criminals. She is at the clothes store where she works, and Gina has just told her about Aurelio's accident.

Meanwhile, Hector has just told Aranza about Aurelio's accident and she feels guilty about being angry at him. She skips the evening class and decides to go to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Emma tells Gina that she should go and check on Aurelio and that she (Emma) will cover, for her. Gina hugs her and says that she is the best friend in the world. Emma smiles and says that she knows.

Meanwhile, back at the mental hospital, John is going through some newspapers. He especially loves looking at the pictures in the different newspapers. The doctors often bring him old copies, to go through as part of his treatment, since, without knowing his family, things are quite difficult. Gina calls Dr. Alves, and tells him about Aurelio's accident, and says that none of them will be able to make it that day. Dr. Alves says that he understands and will tell John.

Later, at the hospital, Adrianna, Antonio, Anna Patricia, Aranza, Armando, Clara, Emma, Gina, Hector, Luisa, Martin, and Ramon are waiting for news on Aurelio. Ramon calls Antonio, Armando, Martin, and Hector aside. Aranza looks at them as they leave.

Ramon says that Aurelio is a good kid who is loved by all and has no enemies, except for Mauricio Basanez. He asks them what they should do about Aurelio's attack. Martin says Mauricio is capable of hiring one of his goons to do it. Antonio says that they have no evidence and cannot charge, Mauricio, but they should watch out for him and take care of Aurelio.

Meanwhile, at the Mental hospital, Dr. Alves goes to check on John. John asks him where Hector, Gina, and Anna Patricia are. Dr. Alves says that Anna Patricia's nephew was sick and they went to visit him. John says that one day he wants to leave there. Dr. Alves says that he (John) has made remarkable progress and he will leave one day.

Meanwhile, Antonio's phone rings. It is Isabella. He leaves the waiting room and goes a little way off, to answer her. Gina watches him leave. Who is it that called, that made it impossible for him to answer the call in front of everyone else? Could it be Isabella? The thought of Antonio communicating with that snake behind her back made her jealous.

Meanwhile, Antonio tells Isabella, to leave him alone. Isabella says that she knows he has gone to visit Aurelio in the hospital, but she doesn't care. She reminds him, he has until the end of Sunday, to tell Gina, or she (Isabella) will do it. Antonio says she is callous to not care that someone is in hospital injured. Isabella asks why she should care when that little brat is part of Gina's family. Antonio wonders how he ever loved her. She is callous, heartless, and insane.

Meanwhile, Luisa prances around. She is nervous and can't sit down. She says the doctors have taken too long, and she is worried, there is something wrong with her son. Armando comes and calms her down.

Hector's phone rings. He has a feeling it is Marianna. He leaves to go and answer it. Adrianna watches him leave to answer the phone call, and wonders who it is. She says (to herself) that since the previous day, Antonio and Hector have both been acting weird, and she wonders if they are up to something.

After what seems like forever, the doctor comes out. Luisa asks how her son is doing. The doctor says that Aurelio is lucky the injuries are not too serious and will be fine, but he will need to spend a few days in the hospital.

Meanwhile, Hector asks Marianna why she is calling him. She says that they have to talk about their baby. He says that now is not the time, and such matters are not discussed over the phone. Marianna says that while what happened to Aurelio is unfortunate, they have to plan for their child. Hector tells her to cool it down, because it's only been one day, and she is already driving him crazy. Marianna asks him if it is crazy, with a desire for her. He tells her she is crazy and psychotic and hangs up. What is he going to do? He is in such a fix. The more time passes, the worse Adrianna's reaction will be.

Later that night, Gina is with Antonio at the nearby park. She asks him if he is okay because he has been acting weird since the previous day. Antonio looks uneasy and uncomfortable. He decides to tell her and get it over with. He says that there is something he had to tell her. He says that Isabella is pregnant with his child. Gina is very shocked. He tries to touch her, but she moves his hand away. Gina stares into the unending darkness. The truth was worse than she feared.

Gina opens the door and leaves but Antonio follows her out. He turns her to face him. He says that he loves her and that they will get through this. Gina who is teary asks him how that will happen. She then adds that he will have responsibilities to Isabella and their child. Antonio says he will provide for his child, both in terms of love and money, because he doesn't want to turn into his father. Antonio pauses for a few seconds then adds that being there for his child doesn't mean he will love Isabella or have to marry her.

Meanwhile, Hector also decides to tell Adrianna the truth and get the worst over with. They are walking together down the streets near where Hector, Gina, and Aurelio live. Adrianna says that she is worried about him (Hector) and Antonio because they have both been acting weird. She asks him if they are in some kind of trouble. Hector holds her hands and says that what he has to say is painful but he has to tell her because he would not want her to hear it from anyone else. Adrianna says that he is worrying her. Hector tells her what Marianna told her yesterday. Adrianna is shocked, this was worse than she could have thought.

She removes herself from his embrace. He tries to touch her but she recoils. He says that not much has to change because he loves her and that will never change. Adrianna asks him how can he can say that when he is about to have a child with Marianna. Hector reminds her of the circumstances under which Marianna got pregnant. He says that Marianna spiked his drink, and it wasn't a willing act. Adrianna says that's all in the past, and that the reality is that a child will be born. Hector says he will acknowledge his child and provide for him or her but he will never love Marianna or marry her.

Meanwhile, back with Antonio and Gina, she is still dealing with the shock of finding out about his child. Suddenly something strikes her, and she turns to Antonio. She remembers that Hector's drink was spiked, by Marianna. She asks Antonio what he and Hector talked about earlier in the day. Antonio waits for a few seconds then says that Hector too is in a similar situation because Marianna is pregnant with his child. Gina is shocked. She says she wants to be alone because she needs time to absorb everything. Antonio says he will take her home. Gina silently enters the car. The ride home is tense and awkward.

Things are not any better with Adrianna and Hector. Adrianna remembers how Antonio had been acting since the previous day. She then asks him, if he knows what is going on between Antonio and Gina. Hector says it's the same thing they are going through. Hector tells her that Isabella and Marianna are evil, and this is part of their plans. He adds that he loves her and that they should not let Marianna and her scheming ways get between them. Adrianna says that things are not so simple, and goes back into the car. The ride home in her car is equally awkward and tense.

Early the next morning (Wednesday), Gina calls Emma. Emma can notice the sadness in her friend's voice and asks her about it. Gina tells her about everything, including Hector and Adrianna's story. Emma listens patiently, not once interrupting her friend. Emma, who is in her own flat, is shocked. Isabella and Marianna were crazy.

Meanwhile, Adrianna wakes up, hoping it was all nothing but a nightmare, but alas, it was real. Marianna was having Hector's child. Just then, there is a knock on the door. She knows, it's Aranza, and lets her in. Aranza locks the door and sits on Adrianna's bed. She watches her cousin, whom she loves very much. She can see that Adrianna is sad and asks her about it. The tears Adrianna was trying hard to suppress last night finally fall. Aranza hugs her cousin.

Adrianna calms down and tells her about Marianna and Isabella being pregnant. Aranza hugs her again. She knew Isabella, and Marianna, were bad people, but this? Aranza says she had no idea those two were that crazy because it was only a crazy person, who would go as far as to do what they did. Adrianna says that it was all too much to take in, and she doesn't know what to do. Aranza says that the child is innocent, and Hector will have to, play his part in raising him or her. Aranza then adds that Hector loves her and that won't change.

EPISODE 37

 

On Friday morning, Gina and Emma were at the office garden talking. Emma was curious about John's progress, so Gina was updating her. Emma also thinks Clara is up to something.

Meanwhile, Claudia remembers the talk she has with Isabella, nearly two weeks ago. She wonders if Isabella is pregnant with Antonio's child. She says to herself, that she hopes, so, because Isabella is more appropriate for her grandson than Gina.

Back at the mental hospital, John, is going through a newspaper, when an image of Anna Patricia comes into his mind, and he says, she is a very beautiful woman.

Meanwhile, Adrianna is at her desk working, when she receives a call on her phone. Helena wants to see her. She sighs. Knowing her aunt, she knows that it will not be a pleasant conversation. Adrianna goes to her aunt's office. Helena is sitting, on her swinging chair, and watches Adrianna come in. Helena says that they have to talk about the influence; Hector, Gina, and Aurelio have on her, and Aranza. Adrianna folds her arms and listens to Helena. Adrianna says that Aurelio is a nice kid and he loves Aranza and is good for her.

Helena adds that they should be wary of the Ortiz's intentions. Adrianna says that she should get to know them instead of being so judgmental. Helena tells Adrianna that she is so trusting and gullible. She adds that she barely knows Hector and she jumped into being in a relationship with him. Adrianna asks her sarcastically if she should be in a relationship with someone she knows so well like Alejandro. Helena tells herself that Adrianna is just like her father, stubborn, a know-it-all, and quite sarcastic.

Later that evening, Anna Patricia, Hector, Gina, and Clara go to visit John.

Elsewhere, Aranza is in her room, packing a few things when her mother comes in. Aranza glares at her but says nothing. Helena says that she should not be going to spend time with other people, so much. Aranza folds her hands and asks why and then adds that it's a win-win situation for both of them because she(Aranza) gets to be out of her (Helena's) way and she(Aranza) gets to be with people she likes. Aranza leaves her mother in her room and walks out. Helena says that Aranza has grown up to be a carbon copy of her father.

Elsewhere, Antonio goes with Gina to his house. She notices he is quiet and asks him about it. He tells her about his mother's death anniversary. She knew it because she had been keeping tabs on him and Adrianna, over the years but she couldn't let him know, because she didn't have a good excuse and she couldn't tell him the truth. She comes and hugs him.

Meanwhile, Hector and Adrianna arrive at his house. He asks her why Helena called her earlier. She tells him. Adrianna adds that her aunt is so judgmental and cold-hearted. He tells her not to worry too much about it.

Meanwhile, Emma notices that Martin is quiet, and pensive, so she asks him about it. He tells her he is worried that his mother is visiting John and becoming too attached. He adds that he is worried she will fall in love with him and he might forget her or decide to go back to his family, once his memory comes back. She tells him that she understands his concerns, but if John recovers and has a relationship with his (Martin's ) mother, they are two adults and are capable of handling their affairs. She adds that if John was married, before the accident, it has been so many years, and his wife has moved on.

Martin says that he must sound overprotective, of his mother, but she suffered and has been unlucky with relationships, first his father died when he was young, and other relationships have failed when she couldn't have other children. Emma says that she understands him. She then asks him if he thinks his grandmother is up to anything. Martin says that she denied, being upto anything, but he knows his grandmother too well. He says that she is kind of like Aranza, and is probably up to something.

Two weeks and some days later, on a Monday,

At Montes de Alba Inc,

Antonio is on his way, to get something from his car when he runs into Isabella. He tries to avoid her, but she comes in front of him. Antonio tells her to leave him alone. Isabella, however, insists that they have to talk. Antonio says they have nothing to talk about, and moves past her. Isabella is however not going to be deterred by Antonio's attitude and blocks his way. She adds that she is pregnant, and the child is his. 

Antonio is momentarily shocked and then tells her to stop telling such lies. Isabella says that she is not lying. She tells him that the baby is a result of their moment of passion and a product of their love. Isabella tries to touch him but he swats her arm away and calls her a psyco. She tells him that that is no way to address the mother of his child. Antonio can hardly believe what Isabella has just said. It is his worst nightmare coming true. How could this happen? He can't imagine Gina's reaction when she finds this out.

Meanwhile, Marianna finds Hector in the office garden. He is busy deep in his thoughts. She puts a hand on his shoulders. He snaps out of it. Noticing it is her; he swats her hand away and tells her to leave him alone. Marianna says they have to talk. Hector says he has nothing to say to her and turns to leave. Marianna says she is pregnant. He turns around and asks her what she said. Marianna repeats her words again and says she is pregnant. 

Hector says that is impossible. Marianna reminds him of what happened a month ago. Hector cannot believe what is happening. This is a mess, he wouldn't wish even on his worst enemy. He thinks of Adrianna, his beautiful gentle, queen. How does he even begin to tell her? How will she react? Marianna asks him if she should tell Adrianna the good news or he will. He paces around then gives her a scathing look. He tells her to keep quiet and stay out of his business.

Meanwhile, Antonio tells Isabella that if what she is saying is true, he will take care of his child. He then adds that he will however never love or marry her. Isabella says so basically history, will repeat itself, and he will turn into his father. Isabella watches Antonio flinch, and knows she has hit a sore spot. She asks when he will tell 'that silly townie'. Antonio stands like a cornered cat. 

Isabella says that if he won't tell her, she (Isabella) will tell Gina about the baby. Antonio holds her hand forcefully and tells her not to open her filthy mouth and tell Gina, a single word. Isabella equally determined, tells him, he is hurting her. He ignores her but she continues and says that eventually Gina will know, and the pregnancy will show. Antonio says he will tell her, and nobody else will. He reminds Isabella that she will not get a cent of his or the Montes De Alba's money.

Meanwhile, Horacio is in his house, about to leave for work. He is in a happy mood; he already knows the pregnancy news. It is only a matter of time before Gina knows the truth. Soon she will be his as it should be.

Alejandro is also happy. He is in his office in Montes De Alba Inc., twirling in his chair. Adrianna too will know. She will be hurt and vulnerable, and that is where he will come in.

Isabella calls Claudia. On seeing the call, Claudia, who is with her friends in the club, glances at the phone, for a moment. Could it be? The news she has been waiting for, for a little over a month? Is she finally getting rid of Gina? Isabella tells Claudia, she is pregnant with Antonio's child. Claudia is naturally overjoyed about the news, and at being a great grandmother. She says she can imagine how Antonio's reaction was. Isabella says he was rough with her and more concerned with how Gina would take the news rather than asking how she and the baby were doing. Claudia, tells her not to worry, because Antonio will have to do the right thing by her and the baby.

Meanwhile, John is having lunch. He is sitting in his room. Again his mind goes back to Anna Patricia. He then continues eating.

Meanwhile, Alejandro calls Isabella and Marianna to get updates on them revealing the information about their pregnancies, and they tell him. Alejandro reminds them to put pressure on Antonio and Hector to tell Gina and Adrianna the truth. He adds that they should tell them they have, latest by Friday, or they (Isabella and Marianna) will tell Gina and Adrianna the truth.

Later, as usual, Hector, Gina, and Anna Patricia go to see John. After Anna Patricia momentarily steps out as they wait in the garden for John to be brought, Gina asks Hector if he is okay, because he has been quiet for most of the day. He says he is. Gina folds her hands and looks at her brother. She says that she can almost read his mind, and can tell that he isn't okay. She reminds him that she will always be there for him. Hector smiles at her, calls her my nosy little sister and rubs her head. Gina rolls her eyes at him and fake punches him.

The next day, a Tuesday, in the morning, Hector sees a text message. It's Antonio. He wants to talk to him. He is in the living room, having breakfast with Gina and Aurelio. Gina asks him who it is. Hector says Antonio wants to talk to him. Gina asks him, if Antonio told him, what he wants to talk about, and Hector says no.

Meanwhile, Martin is at his grandparents' house, where, he had spent the night. His mother had an early start that day and already left. Clara asks him what bothers him. Martin knows that his grandmother is too stubborn, and smart, and will insist on, him telling her the truth, no matter how long that takes. He tells her that he is worried, about his mother's growing attachment to John. Martin says he feels that along the way, love could develop between the two, and a relationship with John would be too complicated for his mother. 

Clara asks him why that would be. Martin looks at her, skeptically, in an, I suspect you are up to something manner. He says that for one, John probably had a wife and family before he had that accident and lost his memory, and he could decide to go back to his wife after recovering his memory. He adds that John could forget his (Martin's) mother or his wife and children are evil, or he loses his sanity again. Clara comes and hugs him. She tells him not to go too far ahead of himself. Clara adds that if his mother and John do fall in love, it was meant to be, and however, it ends it was meant to be. 

Clara adds that as for John's health, he should be more positive because the doctor's prognoses are good, and with the combination of medical treatment and the love he is receiving from the family, he will be just fine. Martin again looks skeptically, at his grandmother. He asks her, if he set up his mother, to meet John on purpose. Claudia says she did not, but Martin is still unconvinced. His grandmother is the sneakiest person he knows.

Later, Antonio and Hector, are in the office garden, the only place, one can have private conversations, securely. Antonio is scared, an emotion, he rarely feels. He is afraid of how Hector will react. He knows Hector loves his cousin. Antonio tells Hector that Isabella is pregnant with his child. Antonio is however surprised, at Hector's reaction. It was not the outburst he was expecting. Hector is calm and silent. Hector says that Marianna is pregnant with his child. 

Antonio is shocked. Antonio says he suspects, it was a plan by Marianna, Isabella, Alejandro, and Horacio. Hector says he is afraid, of how he is going to tell, Adrianna. Antonio says he too, is afraid. He says he fears Gina's reaction to the news. Antonio adds that the more time passes, the worse, things will be for them. Hector agrees that they should tell them as soon as possible.

EPISODE 36

 

Meanwhile, Antonio is in his car, in the basement of the office. In his hand is some paperwork he had forgotten in the car. He then receives a call. He picks up his phone and looks up at it. He makes a face of disgust and irritation. It is the last person he wants to hear from- his grandmother. He knows that all she will do is dampen his mood and annoy him. Antonio, however, knows that not ever picking up a call from his grandmother is much worse, as it will lead to more drama. Reluctantly Antonio picks up her call. Claudia says that they should talk, and Antonio quietly listens knowing that there was no way it would end well.

Claudia says that she finds it weird, that Hector and Gina are so interested in a crazy man they barely know. Claudia says that Gina obviously has never gotten over her father's death, which in itself is understandable because death is painful. Claudia pauses then continues and says that she seems to have daddy issues, and sees physical or behavioral similarities between John and her father and might develop an infatuation or love towards him. Antonio is still quiet, and Claudia knows that she has hit a raw nerve, which she pounces on. Claudia adds that he should be very careful. Antonio tells her to stop being paranoid. Claudia says that she is not paranoid, and is simply stating a fact that can happen.

Meanwhile, Adrianna goes over what Antonio told her about Gina's necklace and the pictures in it. Adrianna wonders what the two are hiding.

Later at the end of the day, Hector, Gina, and Anna Patricia go to the mental hospital to visit John. They are inside Dr. Alves's office. Anna Patricia says that she is sorry to come on such short notice, but Hector and Gina are part of her family and are well-loved, and she was sent to make sure everything is okay. Dr. Alves says that he understands and that it is all okay. He says that he is going to arrange for John to be brought out, and asks Hector and Gina to escort Anna Patricia, to the garden. Dr. Alves then leaves and goes to get John. Hector then smiles and says that was an interesting reason to explain her presence.

Anna Patricia says that she couldn't say that her nosy mother made her come. Dr. Alves is out with John. He tells him that Hector and Gina are here to see him with a guest. John asks him who the guest is. Dr. Alves says that it is someone who is like family to them. Hector and Gina come out with Anna Patricia, and introduce her to John, as their aunt.

He looks at her for a few seconds and says that she is very beautiful. Anna Patricia smiles. Dr. Alves says he will leave them for a little while. John invites them to sit down. Hector and Gina share a knowing look. They can tell that John is captivated by Anna Patricia.

Meanwhile, Antonio is in his house. He is watching a movie on his laptop but his mind is not really there. He remembers what Claudia said earlier. He says (to himself) that his grandmother has a way of messing with his head.

Meanwhile, John tells Anna Patricia that he would like to take a walk around the garden (which is spacious) with her. He adds that it has been years since he has had the company of such a beautiful woman, who is not his doctor or nurse. She agrees. He turns to Hector and Gina and says that he will not take long. After they have left, Hector says that Clara's meddling and nosiness is actually good, because interacting with people who are not part of his medical team, is good for him, and that it will help lift his spirits. Hector, says that he seems to be taken by Anna Patricia. Gina asks if this is what Clara hoped for when she insisted Anna Patricia comes and visits John. Hector says he isn't sure, but he wouldn't put any kind of scheming and tricks past her.

Meanwhile, John asks Anna Patricia if she is afraid of him. She says she is not. He says that's good. He then adds that he is afraid of what lies out there once he recovers. He asks what if it makes him crazy again. She tells him that he should not think that way. She tells him that he should focus on the fact that the doctors have said that he has been making a remarkable recovery. He thanks her for her words. He then tells her that he fears that he might never remember who he was. She tells him to take it step by step.

On Wednesday, morning, Aurelio and Aranza have just arrived at school. They don't have a class that morning, so they go to the cafeteria. He notices she is quiet, so he asks her what's wrong. Aranza says she was just thinking about John. He asks her what exactly, about him. Aranza says the doctors, have said he has made a quick recovery, and she was thinking that in the next few months or a year, he could regain his memory, and remember his family, and this will be awkward for both him and his family to adjust to each other.

 Aurelio agrees. He says he can't imagine the shock on his family's faces when he returns after 18 years. Aranza says what if they are evil people, and don't get along with Hector and Gina who have developed, an attachment towards John. He tells her not to be too worried about it, and that things will work out in the end. He adds that God has seen how much John has lost, spending so much time in the mental health facility, and will help him recover.

John meanwhile is in his room, going through an old newspaper, when Dr. Alves enters. He says he wants to receive a lot of visitors, like the other patients. He says that, apart from Hector, Gina, and Anna Patricia, no one has come to visit. He asks him where his family is. Dr. Alves says that slowly with time, he will learn the truth. John says he would like to learn the truth whatever it is. Dr. Alves thinks it's a good idea for John to wait and learn things slowly. John however is insistent and wants to hear things soon. Dr. Alves decides to tell him.

Meanwhile, Adrianna is at her desk, working when she decides to check on the story of the twins online. She then has flashbacks of the day they disappeared.

Meanwhile, Gina has flashbacks of playing with Antonio and Adrianna as children. She remembers on her and Hector's eighth birthday, he gave her his mother's necklace, which she still had, or when she, Adrianna, Antonio, and Hector would play in the garden or when they would watch Aranza in her baby cot. She even remembered when she woke up and found her hair dyed green, and they later, found out it was Antonio. She smiles remembering his cheeky smile, even then he was a rascal. She then asks herself what Antonio's reaction will be when he finds out the truth.

Back at the hospital,

John is startled to find out everything. He asks Dr. Alves if there is any clue as to who he is. Dr. Alves says that the only clue that they have is a tattoo on his left arm. John moves up his hospital gown and sees it. The tattoo is of a butterfly with the name Becky on it.

Later, that evening after Hector, Gina, and Anna Patricia go to visit John. Sometime later Anna Patricia is at home with her parents. Clara asks her how the past two visits she has had with John have gone. Anna Patricia says that it went well, and his sanity has vastly improved. She adds that what the doctors are still wary about is whether he will regain his memory because without knowing his family, that will be hard because it will affect how they will treat him. She then finishes by saying that she does see the resemblance to Gabriel, the twins' father. Clara surprises Ramon and Anna Patricia by saying she wants to meet John as well. Ramon asks his wife what she is up to. Clara says she is not up to anything but she has been intrigued by John's case and feels sorry for him.

On Thursday morning, Gina and Martin are in the garden talking. He tells her his mother told him about their grandmother's plans to visit John. Gina smiles, she says she has a feeling their grandmother is up to something but she can't figure out what. 

Meanwhile, Hector runs into Alejandro, who as usual gives him a dark look. Hector ignores him.

Later after class, Aranza and Aurelio meet. He tells her about his aunt's decision to continue visiting John. Aranza says that might lead to unintended consequences. Aurelio asks her what consequences she means. Aranza says one or both of them might fall for the other. Aurelio smiles and Aranza insists and says that they both have been single for so long and they are going to see a lot of each other. Aranza adds that John has not been visited by anyone or been around anyone who is not part of his medical team in years, and his aunt is very pretty. Aurelio realizes what Aranza is saying is very realistic. He asks her what if when John recovers his memory he forgets or disregards her and goes back to his wife if he had one.

Aranza says that it has been so long and if John was married, his wife mourned, thinking he was dead, and moved on and rebuilt her life with someone else. Aranza admits that she might not know a lot about the law but it has been eighteen years, and if he had a wife, they haven't lived together, and are technically considered divorced, so unless there is a willingness by either or both parties to renew the marriage or money is involved things should not be nasty or complicated. Aurelio is surprised. He had no idea she knew such things.

Meanwhile, Antonio sits on his desk. The computer is on but he isn't really looking at it. Next week is the anniversary of his mother's death. He was three when she died, but even as the pain has lessened over time, he still felt the gap. Before Gina, he felt that she was the only other person who loved him unconditionally. He imagines how his life would have turned out, had she lived and raised him. Probably he wouldn't have been so messed up. He opens a chest in his drawers and removes a picture of her and looks at it.

Meanwhile, Adrianna runs into Marianna on her way to the washroom. Marianna gives her a sly smile but Adrianna ignores her. She says (to herself) that, that witch won't get to her.

That evening, Clara joins Anna Patricia, Hector, and Gina to visit John. Dr. Alves observes his reaction to the increased group of people. John is happy and thriving. He seems more alive than he (Dr. Alves has seen him in ages).

EPISODE 35

 

Later, at the university:

Aranza reminds Aurelio that she is waiting for her gift because she is a lady and will not be given away or taken for free. Aurelio says it is coming, but inside he is anxious because he has no idea what to give her.

Later, in the evening, Hector and Gina go to visit John in the mental health facility. He is happy to see both of them. They are in his room. He tells them that he does not want to die there. Hector tells him that, he should be positive and look forward to the future. Gina adds that there is a big world waiting for him outside there. She adds that he should look forward to seeing a lot of things. John shows them some of the puzzles he filled. Out of nowhere, he says he misses his favorite beer. He shows them a picture in an old newspaper, of the beer. Gina and Hector are both shocked. John asks them what the problem is. Hector says the brand was also their father's favorite brand. John tells them not to be afraid because their father is watching them from heaven.

Antonio and Adrianna meanwhile, are at Antonio's house. Adrianna asks him what he thinks his grandmother is up to. He says, he has no idea, but he finds her desire to see both Gina and Hector suspicious.

Aranza and Aurelio leave for his house, after classes. They are to leave for his grandparents' house later.

Meanwhile, Gina and Hector brief the doctor about their visit. Gina asks the doctor if having more newspapers will help his recovery and memory, especially since he cannot remember who he is and the people he knew. Dr. Alves says that at that point, they cannot be entirely certain and that they can only hope that him remembering something so mundane is a bigger sign of greater things. He says that since they don't know his family, they have little to work on in jogging his memory and engaging his brain. Dr. Alves adds that they had tried giving him newspapers to see if even a flicker was triggered but until they (Hector and Gina) came, it never worked.

Sometime after, Gina and Hector then go home to change for the dinner.

Antonio and Adrianna go to pick them up. It is around 8:30 pm when they arrive at Antonio's grandparents' house. Juan Patricio is there as well to receive them. He is immediately struck by how familiar Hector looks. Claudia asks him if he is fine, but Juan Patricio waves her away. He says Hector reminds him of Hannibal, Aranza's great grandfather. Hector looks worried for a fleeting second but then manages to hide it but not before everyone sees it. They go to the dining room.

Meanwhile, at Clara and Ramon's house, Aranza asks Ramon if she bothers them too much coming there so often. Ramon tells her that he has no problem and that it fills them with joy because now that the children are grown up the house is quieter.

Meanwhile, the dinner at Juan Patricio and Claudia's house progresses. Claudia tells Hector that she has heard that he and his cousin had been going to visit a patient at a mental health facility for some time now. Adrianna, Antonio, Gina, and Hector all look at each other and then at Claudia. She says news spreads fast. Hector says John has been there, for a long time, and he cannot remember his name or his previous life, or anyone from it. He adds that no one has come to claim or visit him and this has not helped his recovery. Hector adds that he and Gina are helping him recover his life.

Claudia still seems a little intrigued by the whole idea. Why would Hector and Gina want to visit some stranger they barely know, who has been in a mental institution, for years? She asks just that and watches keenly for Gina's response. Gina says that they feel sorry for him, and want to help him. Claudia asks Gina if he reminds her of her father. Gina says in a way, because he died when she was so young, and he had similar interests. Claudia turns to Hector and asks him, what about him. Hector says he reminds him of Gina's father.

Meanwhile,

Ramon and Aurelio are walking outside. Aurelio tells him about his dilemma with Aranza and her gift. He says Aranza has everything she could ever want and he has no idea what to give her. Aurelio adds that she is already putting pressure on him to give her a gift, and she can be quite insistent. Ramon says that he knows because she is very much like his grandmother. Ramon adds that Aranza loves him, and his gift should be from the heart, but that he should strive to give her something good. Ramon further says that he will help him. Aurelio smiles relieved.

Meanwhile,

Antonio tells his grandmother, to relax and stop interrogating Gina and Hector. Claudia waves him away and insists she is simply getting to know them.

Later, that night, as it happens every weekend, Antonio and Gina go to his house, and Hector and Adrianna to his (Hector's).

Saturday dawns bright and early.

John is at the mental hospital. He is not sleepy. He goes through a newspaper and sees an article, with a picture of Carlos. He looks at it, for some seconds. His mind has a flashback of him seeing a picture when reading a newspaper a few months ago. Helena was in it.

Meanwhile, Antonio wakes up, to get a glass of water.

After, a few steps he sees Gina's necklace on the floor, on top of her clothes. He turns to look at her, but she is still sleeping. He picks it up and opens it. There is a picture, of two children; he assumes are a boy and a girl. The girl is wrapped in a pink blanket and the boy is in a blue one. He looks at Gina and asks himself who the children are.

Meanwhile, Adrianna wakes up and goes to the kitchen. Hector is already awake. She finds him deep in thought and asks him what he was thinking about. He says he was thinking about Claudia and her attitude towards him and Gina the previous day. Adrianna tells him Claudia is just like that, and he should not worry too much about that. Adrianna adds that she thinks it was Isabella who went blabbing to Claudia because she wants to make him (Hector) and Gina look bad in front of Claudia because she is obsessed with Antonio.

Meanwhile, Gina wakes up and leaves the room. She sees Antonio, and after greeting him and taking a sip from a glass of water, he shows her the necklace and asks her who the children were. Gina is shocked, and momentarily scared. Antonio watches her reaction. He adds that judging by the technical quality of the pictures; the children in the picture are now in their late teens or early twenties. Gina says that that is Hector and her. He says they were born around the same time, and so their pictures were taken together and put in that medallion, which is a family heirloom. Antonio doesn't know what to think, he has always had a feeling Gina is lying to him, but about what? He knows that she hasn't told him the whole truth.

Meanwhile, Clara knocks on Anna Patricia's door. She says she wants to talk to her. Knowing her mother, Anna Patricia knows she is up to something. Clara says it is about John, the patient Hector and Gina have been visiting. Clara says she would like her (Anna Patricia) to go and visit him with the children. Anna Patricia is shocked. She tells her mother that she knew from her expressions that she (Clara) was up to something but she didn't know exactly what.

Clara waves her daughter away and says she is curious about him. She adds that Gina and Hector have told them so much about him, and that has made her curious and sympathetic to his plight. She adds that she wants to know what exactly; it is about John that has so attached Hector and Gina. Anna Patricia agrees. Claudia adds that she feels like John was put in the family's path for a reason. Anna Patricia asks her what she thinks that is. Clara says she doesn't know, but that they will know with time.

Later, Adrianna and Antonio go to Clara and Ramón's house, as Hector and Gina go to visit John. Gina tells Hector that they have to talk. They are across the street from the mental hospital. She tells him about Antonio finding the necklace and asking questions. Hector is as scared as she was when Antonio found the necklace. He says that those are two close calls in one week and that they have to be careful because Adrianna and Antonio are geniuses and together they can figure things out. Gina agrees but says that she hates having to lie and all the secrecy. He hugs her and says that he does wish it could all end as well.

At the house, Ramon is about to leave with Aurelio, Martin, Antonio, and Armando. The girls, Aranza, Adrianna, Emma, Clara, and Luisa are to remain at home. Aranza asks them where they are going. Antonio says it's a secret. Aranza pouts and says she doesn't like being left out of plans.

Meanwhile, Isabella and Marianna are at Marianna's house and talking about their plans. Marianna tells herself that Isabella is crazy, in how far she is willing to go for Antonio.

Later, Hector and Gina go to Clara and Ramón's house. Clara announces that Anna Patricia will go with Hector to visit John soon. Everyone especially the twins are surprised. Anna Patricia, Hector, and Gina agree to go together on Tuesday.

Meanwhile back at the hospital, John is quietly eating lunch as he watches other patients with their families. He remembers Hector and Gina and how comfortable he feels around them.

Elsewhere, When Martin is alone with his mother, he asks her what his grandmother is up to. Anna Patricia says that with his grandmother, it is hard to know. She adds that she doesn't know whether her mother is being nosy and curious, has developed empathy for John, or is upto something else. 

On Tuesday, morning, after both of them are from class, Aranza sees Aurelio's missed call and calls him back. He says he would like to see her, and they meet in an empty classroom. She asks him what he is up to. Aurelio smiles and says nothing. Aranza looks at him suspiciously. He removes a package from his bag and asks her to open it. Still eyeing him suspiciously, she takes it and proceeds to open it.

In it, there are two matching pendants, both red. Aranza's eyes widen. He asks her if she likes them. She says she does. He says that one is hers, and the other his, and each of them will put a picture of the other in theirs. Aranza hugs him and says that he is the most thoughtful boyfriend ever.

EPISODE 34

 

Emma watches Martin, as he drinks a glass of water. He asks her if she is okay. Emma says she is. She adds that he is close to both Hector and Gina, and so he would know what they were upto. Martin is a little confused. He asks her what she is talking about. She says that she understands their concerns and desire to help John but they have gone over and above what most people would have done, and they treat him more like a father or an uncle. 

Martin knows the reason Hector and Gina treat John with such love is that he resembles their father, but he can't tell her that, in case his resemblance to Gabriel comes out and someone else notices, to keep the twins secret and protect John. Martin tells her that they probably feel sorry for him, given all that he has been through in the past. Emma looks at him half skeptically. Martin tells her to relax, about it, and then says they just want to help him. He then starts to kiss her, and she kisses him back. They then roll onto the bed together.

On Wednesday morning, and at the mental hospital, John is filling puzzles in his room. He again has the same image of a grandfather with his grandson playing football. He stops and looks around.

Meanwhile, at Montes De Alba Inc., Horacio runs into Gina as she is going to the procurement department. He starts to make conversations with her and she ignores him and walks past him. Horacio says that soon, Gina will break up with Antonio and will come back to him again as it should be.

Meanwhile, Antonio is in the washroom. He is about to wash his hands when he receives a call. He checks whose number it is. It is his grandmother. He scoffs and then picks it up. She says that she would like to meet Gina and her cousin. Given what his grandmother said about Gina, Antonio is unsure about this meeting. He asks her why she wants to see them both, given what she said about Gina. Claudia says she wants to meet the only living relative of the girl he is dating. Antonio asks why and Claudia says she wants to know her better. Antonio scoffs as; he doesn't believe a word she says. Claudia says she simply wants to understand Gina's background. Antonio knows that fighting, with his grandmother, is pointless, because she will always win, so he reluctantly agrees.

Elsewhere, Adrianna is in her cubicle. They are working on a press release, for some new products. She minimizes the tab and opens another. She remembers something that has been on her mind for a long time. Adrianna wonders yet again and asks herself, who the mysterious Gisela Carrillo is. She types, the name Gisela Carrillo, and is surprised at the results. It is the name of Hernan and Gabriela's maternal great-grandmother. Adrianna then googles Hannibal Carrillo and finds out that he was Gisela's younger brother. She is shocked. What does it all mean? Antonio looks at his phone, hoping it's not his grandmother. It is Adrianna. She wants to talk to him, for a little while, before lunch. He agrees to her request. He texts her back and asks her if she is okay. Adrianna tells him that she is fine and that he should not worry.

Back at the mental hospital: John is in the garden. It is big and spacious. He watches another patient interact with his family. His mind then goes back to images of Hector and Gina. A nurse comes and sits near him. She is among the team monitoring the ten patients brought in from the sister facility. He asks her when Hector and Gina are coming. She asks him if he loves them. He says that he feels like he knows them. The nurse watches him, as he looks at the fellow patient and his family.

Sometime later, Antonio and Adrianna are in the garden, a few minutes before lunch. Antonio asks her again if she is okay. Adrianna insists she is. She then tells him that she has been curious about finding out who Gisela and Hannibal Carrillo are since Gisela saved Aranza some months ago. She then tells Antonio that Gisela is the twins' great-grandmother, and Hannibal is her younger brother. Adrianna asks him if he thinks it's all a coincidence and someone is playing a bad joke, or if by some far away stroke of chance the twins are alive.

Antonio says it's all so confusing. He says he doesn't know what to make of it. He adds that sometimes he believes they are dead, but the fact that no bodies have been found yet, makes him hold out hope, that they were found by some nice couple who have raised them since. Adrianna says that she too, sometimes believes that they are alive. She then asks him, why he thinks that they have not come out of hiding by now if they are alive. She also adds that they are Gabriel's children and are heirs.

Antonio says he is not sure, but maybe they don't want to, or can't afford to or they are still afraid of her aunt and his father. He tells her not to worry about it too much, because, everything will eventually fall into place, and they will learn the truth. He then tells her about his talk, with his grandmother and says that he would like her to accompany Hector to the dinner, and balance things out. Adrianna is unsure about going to the dinner, but Antonio convinces her and she agrees to go because it is important to him and Gina.

Back at the mental hospital,

The doctor asks the nurse about John's reaction to his surroundings so far that day. The nurse says he looked at a fellow patient with his family, and then talked about Hector and Gina, and says he misses them. Dr. Alves says that is good because it shows that, he is regaining his brain's abilities to function normally. The doctor adds that John has been remembering Hector and Gina and after seeing the patient and his family, it made him relate that to his own need for a family which he demonstrates by his close attachment to Hector and Gina. 

The nurse asks him, what he believes will happen to the patient as far as his memory and sanity go. Dr. Alves says that as far as John's sanity goes, he will regain it, and adds that he isn't so sure about his memory. Dr. Alves further adds that things would be easier, if they knew his family, as this would make it easier, to get him to remember who he is through various therapies.

Meanwhile,

Over lunch, Hector asks Adrianna, what she wanted to talk to Antonio about. Adrianna says that out of the blue, she had an idea to check Gisela and Hannibal Carrillo online then she found out that they are the twin's great grandparents. Hector's face, momentarily goes white, before he catches himself. Adrianna asks him if he is okay. He says he is. He says (to himself) that, that was close, but he needs to be more careful because Adrianna is extremely sharp and Antonio is just as intelligent.

Elsewhere,

Gina looks at Antonio and asks if he is okay. He says he is and says that his grandmother wants to meet her and Hector. Gina folds her hands and asks him why. Antonio says his grandmother wants to meet her and Hector who is her only living relative. Gina says she is unsure about it, because the few times she has, interacted with his grandmother, in the dinners and lunches since the first one, she has gotten the idea that his grandmother can't stand her and doesn't approve of them dating.

Antonio holds her hands and says that no one's opinion on their relationship should matter and that as long as his grandmother doesn't interfere, they should let her keep her opinions. Gina agrees because she knows that refusing will only make Claudia Diaz hate her more. She just has to smile and bear it. Antonio says he also asked Adrianna to come so that there is a balance with Hector. He squeezes her hand to reassure her. Gina asks him when the dinner is. He says that it will be the coming Friday night.

Later on, Claudia is at the club with some of her friends. She has a flashback to all her interactions with Gina. No doubt, the girl is very intelligent but she is from a questionable background. Who knew what kind of family she came from? She wanted Antonio to marry, someone who is from his own level, a person who is not only beautiful and well educated but from a good and respectable family.

Later, after visiting John, Gina, Hector and Aurelio go to Armando and Luisa's house. Gina is anxious about the dinner with Claudia; since she is sure Claudia disapproves of her dating Antonio. She needs Clara and Luisa's wisdom and strength to go through it all. The girls go for a walk outside and Gina tells Clara and Luisa about Claudia's call and her wanting to meet her and Hector. 

Luisa tells her to set her boundaries, and not let Claudia put her down but still be respectful because, at the end of the day, she is still Antonio's family. Clara tells Gina not to pay Luisa too much attention because she is lucky to have such a good mother-in-law as her (Clara). Luisa and Gina both smile at Clara, she truly is the best. Luisa then tells Gina to be respectful but never to let Claudia mistreat or demean her.

Meanwhile, Helena has just learnt that Aranza and Aurelio are a couple. Mauricio had just confirmed it after the news spread around campus. As Aranza was from a prominent family and given the tragic story of her father, brother, and sister, her personal life was of interest. Helena is, of course, unhappy about the relationship, but she knows her daughter and decides to let it go. One must know which battles to fight and which to let go.

Thursday comes and goes and soon it is Friday. Gina has just woken up to get ready for the day. Antonio calls her. He asks her if they are going straight to his house after work. Gina says she and Hector have to visit John. Antonio knows that he won't win such an argument with Gina, because she and Hector have developed a close attachment to John. He says he understands her feeling sorry for John for what he has been through but they have done too much and he (Antonio) feels that she and Hector have become too emotionally attached to him. Gina says that they have to do it because they want him to recover as much as possible and to get back to living a normal life.

Antonio decides to let it go, for the time being, though, Gina's attachment to John bothers him. He knows John reminds her of her late father, and fears, that the fatherly affection she has for him could develop into love. Antonio, who is at the Montes De Alba mansion then goes to Adriana's room. She opens it. Adrianna watches Antonio sit on her bed. She asks him what is bothering him. Antonio tells her about his concerns about Gina's attachment to John. 

Adrianna tells him, she is sure that Gina loves him, and if she is helping John it is because she has never gotten over her father's death, and helping John is part of her healing process. Antonio says as much as he loves Gina, he often wonders about the secrets she keeps. Like how, her father's death pains her more than her mother's, why she doesn't like talking about either of her parents and why she doesn't have any childhood pictures. Adrianna admits that she also wonders about Hector's secretiveness about his family history, but has never really brought up the issue.

EPISODE 33

 

Meanwhile: Marianna tells Adrianna that eventually Hector will get bored of her(Adrianna) and come to her (Marianna). Adrianna rolls her eyes and tells her that she is not going to stoop to her level and engage in petty arguments and leaves. Marianna says (to herself) that it doesn't matter what Adrianna says or thinks because soon, she will tie Hector to her.

Later, at the university:

Aurelio and Aranza are walking together, with one of Aranza's friends, when they ran into Mauricio, and his friends. Mauricio sneers at them. Mauricio tells Aranza, that she has made poor choices by preferring a poor low life like Aurelio to him. Aranza tells him that the only poor choice being made will be by whichever girl is stupid enough to fall for him because he has no respect for women.

Mauricio starts to talk, but Aranza continues. She says she is intelligent, and not afraid to work, so she does not need anyone to support her. Knowing how crazy Aranza can get Aurelio puts his arms around her and tells her to relax. Aurelio tells both girls that they should go. Mauricio is left feeling embarrassed and humiliated. Aranza Montes De Alba has just made a new enemy. She does not know who she is messing with.

Sometime later,

Antonio is at his desk, working. As often, his mind goes back to Gina. What great secret, is she keeping? He knows she loves him, but still, he is sure she is hiding something big from him. He says (to himself): what Gina, whom he nicknamed wildflower is hiding. 

At the end of the day, as usual, Gina and Hector go to visit John in the mental hospital, and he is happy to see them. He says he is bored and wants to go out. Hector tells him that if he continues to improve he will be released. John asks him where he will go since he can't remember anything about his earlier life. Gina tells John not to worry, because she and Hector will be there for him, and will help him.

That night:

Aranza looks at her phone. It is Aurelio. She ignores it. Aurelio meanwhile is at home with Gina and Hector, while Aranza was with Adrianna and Antonio. Gina asks Aurelio what's wrong. Aurelio says Aranza has been acting a little strange lately. Aurelio adds that sometimes she wants to be around him and sometimes she totally ignores him. Hector asks him if he did anything to annoy her. Aurelio thinks about it then says that he hasn't. Hector looks at Gina and asks her to use her wisdom. Gina glares at her brother then asks Aurelio to explain what happened. Aurelio says that Aranza avoided him and when she couldn't she was cooler than usual.

Meanwhile, Antonio and Adrianna are in Adrianna's room getting ready to watch a movie when Aranza comes into the room. Antonio asks her if she has any plans with Aurelio. Aranza scoffs and says he is an idiot. Antonio then pauses and asks her why she is saying that. Adrianna comes and sits near her, and asks her if she fought with him. Aranza says that they didn't fight. Antonio asks her why then, is she not speaking to him. Aranza doesn't say anything and sits quietly. Adrianna says she knows what the problem is. 

Antonio tells Aranza, that the genius, is about to talk. Adrianna mock glares at Antonio then throws a pillow at him. Adrianna says that Aranza is in love with, Aurelio. Aranza stares at them both for a second, then looks aside. Antonio then says that's all fine, but he doesn't understand why she is ignoring him then. Adrianna says that only Aranza can answer that. Aranza looks at them and decides to tell them the truth.

Meanwhile, Aurelio says he doesn't understand Aranza because she is complicated. Gina says she knows what is happening. Hector looks at her skeptically and then says of course she does. She glares at him, and he smiles back, then she turns towards Aurelio. Gina says Aranza, loves him. Aurelio says he knows. Hector asks him if he loves her too. Aurelio says he does. Gina asks him why he hasn't done anything about it, like ask her out on a romantic date, or tell her he loves her. 

Aurelio runs his hand through his hair and then says he wasn't really in a hurry and was going to do it. Gina looks at him skeptically, and he says both he and Aranza are young, and there is no hurry. Hector says that they need to talk because clearly, Aranza thinks differently. Aurelio assures them that he will do it.

Meanwhile, Aranza tells Adrianna and Antonio that for such a genius, Aurelio is very slow and has not made a move on her. Adrianna tells her not to worry, to be herself, and when it happens it will happen.

On Tuesday morning, at the university, Aranza meets Aurelio before either one of them has classes. He says he wants to talk to her but, Aranza says she is too busy. Aurelio says he won't take too much of her time. Aranza seems to think about it, and then agrees.

Meanwhile, Juan Patricio is in a nearby mall when one face catches his attention. It's Anna Patricia. She is at the store where she works. Juan Patricio goes back to another time, a time when someone with a similar face, came to check on his ailing grandfather. It was so many years ago.

At the office,

Marianna and Isabella are in the garden. Marianna asks Isabella if she thinks Hector and Gina's concern for a crazy person (John) is weird. Marianna adds that it's the right thing to do to help others, but Hector and Gina have gone over and beyond that, and he isn't a relative. Isabella says she supposes so, but they probably feel sorry for him because he has no recollection of his family and friends before whatever called his illness.

Meanwhile, Aurelio tells Aranza that he has something to tell her. Aranza folds her arms and tells him she is listening. Aurelio says that she is the most beautiful girl he has ever seen, and he loves her. Aranza tells him to stop joking, because they both have classes at 11:00am, to prepare for. Aurelio touches her face with one hand and says he is not joking. Aranza asks him what about all those pretty girls he flirts with around campus. Aurelio shrugs and says they are, beautiful, then pauses. Aranza scoffs at him and turns to leave. He goes in front of her and says that none of them is more beautiful than her.

Aranza is caught off-guard and doesn't know what to say. Aurelio smiles, and says, her not having anything to say, is a first. She smiles at him and playfully punches him. Aurelio asks her if she would like to become his girlfriend. Aranza says she would and Aurelio kisses her, and she kisses him back. Even from afar, Mauricio can see them and clenches his fist. Aranza will pay for choosing that pauper over him. Aranza pulls away then tells Aurelio, she is a lady, and she is expecting a gift from him. He smiles and says he definitely will give her something.

Meanwhile,

Adrianna is going up a flight of stairs when she runs into Alejandro. She tries to avoid him, but he moves in front of her. He says she is beautiful, and he misses her. Adrianna doesn't say a word to him. She again tries to move past him, but he blocks her. Alejandro again tries to make conversation and again Adrianna ignores him. She does not want to encourage him. Irritated, Adrianna goes back down. He follows her down. Hector is also coming up the stairs when he sees them. As it happens every time he sees Alejandro, his blood boils.

He tells Alejandro to leave Adrianna alone. Alejandro tells Hector that he is nobody to tell him what to do. Adrianna tells Hector that they should leave and not give him a chance to ruin their day. Hector looks, at her then agrees that they should leave. After they have left, Alejandro says that it will only be a matter of time before; Adrianna is his, as it should be. Hector, asks, Adrianna, if she is okay, and if Alejandro hurt her. She shrugs and says he was just an irritant as usual. He hugs her.

Later that night Gina, Aurelio, and Hector are at home. Aurelio sits near Hector and fidgets half nervously. Hector asks him if he is okay. Aurelio looks around nervously then asks him, what gift, someone is to gift a girl, who has everything. Gina comes from the kitchen and asks him why he is asking. Aurelio tells them, he asked Aranza to be his girlfriend and she agreed. Hector and Gina, both playfully pounce on him.

Elsewhere at the mansion,

Antonio, Adrianna, and Aranza are in his room. Antonio asks Aranza what was so urgent, she called both him and Adrianna. Concerned, he asks her, if she is okay. Aranza says she is fine. She says she has news. Aranza says Aurelio asked her to be his girlfriend, and she agreed. They both congratulate her and proceed to endlessly tease her. Antonio says Aurelio must be strong or crazy because he is with her. Aranza throws a pillow at him. She then says she is scared. Adrianna hugs her, and asks her, what scares her.

Aranza says she is afraid, of her mother's reaction when she finds out about her dating Aurelio since she hates Gina, Hector, and Aurelio. Antonio says her mother won't be happy, but she (Aranza) should be happy, that she has found someone who is good for her and who loves her. Antonio adds that she should not worry about her mother, because he and Adrianna will be here for her. Adrianna says that finally, the baby has started dating. Aranza scoffs at her and says she is no baby.

Meanwhile, Aurelio says that Aranza, wants a gift, to mark their beginning as a couple, and he has no idea what to give a girl who has everything. Gina says Aranza is a good girl, and it's the thought that counts, and she won't mind as long as it is from his heart and he makes some effort. Aurelio says he knows but he would still like to give her something special. He asks Gina if she thinks he is good enough to date someone like Aranza. 

Gina tells him that never once should he feel worse than people like Mauricio. She says he is intelligent, and he has a good heart and Aranza has seen that and that is why she loves him. Hector rubs Aurelio's head and says that the baby of the family has finally started dating. Gina makes wedding noises and they all pounce on Aurelio, laughing.
